Abeni felt a hand trail down her face, coming to rest on her jaw. “You’re awake,” Dmitry murmured. “Good morning, my love.” His voice was still thick with sleep, but there was an undeniable heat to it that sent shivers down her spine. She opened her eyes, taking in his dark hair tousled from sleep, his green eyes half-lidded and smoldering. “Good morning,” she breathed, her heart racing. “You slept well?”
He nodded, the movement pulling her closer to him. “I did,” he admitted, his fingers moving to cradle her cheek. “And I want to thank you for taking care of me yesterday when I came back home drunk” His thumb traced circles on her skin, making her heart race. “You were so gentle and understanding with me.” She could feel the heat coming off his body, his breath fanning across her face.
