Immediately I heard Daniel greeting my secretary, I knew just why he came. He pushed the door open, leaned on the doorway as if it was his office. I pretended not to notice his presence,this made him walk towards me in long strides and he closed the documents I was reading. "Oh, hello my good friend" I tried sounding innocent. "Don't start that Max" he said angrily. Okay,take a chill pill, he's seriously mad at me but I don't care. "I'm so sorry,I couldn't make it to your house" "You couldn't make it to my house?? Are you being serious??" "Okay, I had something really urgent that came up and I needed to be ……" "Shut up dude" he cut me off, it's only Daniel that cuts me off in this manner regardless of my position, such acts of disrespect but he's my best friend. "Your receptionist said you'd closed from work long before dinner time "he continued. I made a mental note to sack Sarah, she gives too much information to Daniel as if he is her employer. "Fine, how do you expect me to come for a supposed friend's dinner and watch you go all romantic with Olivia??, That's a bruise to my ego bro". He started laughing loudly. I just stared at him confused. "But why are you laughing?" " I knew that was the reason you decided not to show up " he said still laughing. I hissed,"why did you now come into my office like a jealous girlfriend?" I said pissed. "You have a serious problem Dan and you need to book an appointment with a psychiatrist " "Chill bro,it hasn't gotten to that, I guess that's just a sign that you should give love a chance again,not every lady is like Mia. Trust Daniel to always have something to say in any situation just to piss me. we've been friends since sixth grade and since we shared same goals we became friends more quickly, he's the outgoing and romantic type while I'm the opposite. Though I haven't given much attention to romantic relationships, he's still better than I am in that field, because dude has ways with words, even has my secretary swooning. "Okay, I'll have my team check out the company, maybe after few months of existence and loyalty,I'll invest in it". "No problem,just wanted to inform you first" he stood up. "How about we have lunch? It's almost time for work break " I proposed , I was already feeling hungry. "Alright, I know of a local food restaurant downtown" Daniel said. Though we were super rich,we still loved eating at local restaurants,as that had been our savior during school days. We headed out and I gave my receptionist a stern stare, to keep her in check. ************************************************ Aria's POV It's been seven days since I went to New York City,it's been so good. The hustle and bustle of the city, beautiful buildings and the people,I wondered why I didn't think of this place,it was safe. I got a job at Duress café, the old man was so thoughtful when he saw me on the streets,he gave me a room to stay and the job. Working here has been so much fun though the lustful eye of the opposite gender didn't leave my body. I'm 5"5 with a slim thick physique,one that keeps my head turned and that wasn't what I wanted for myself. I'm done with the male folks and done for good. It was less busy at the shop because it was not yet time for a break in the offices. The people here really work with time. I was preparing myself when Sir Donaldson came in. "How are you Aria?" "I'm good Sir Donaldson,how about you?" "Call me Donaldson, I'm kicking just fine,I can see you're getting ready for the next bout of people that'll be coming in for lunch". "Yes, and I hope to be as fast as possible" "Oh, that reminds me Claire left few minutes ago,she has an emergency to attend to" I felt weak, I wasn't ready to sashay the tables alone . I rushed to the sink and splashed water on my face to clean my makeup and I washed my hands before heading out. There were already a lot of people there,so I rushed to take the orders and serve them. I tried as much as possible not to trip,I can be very clumsy at times.
