The Pack Leader
The senses of the soon-to-be Pack Leader came pouring down on him.
“What have I done?” Kyros thought, eyes, staring at the sleeping figure on the sofa. The omega who just had his innocence taken away.
The Alpha swept his wavy brunette hair back, wondering how to undo this mistake he had made. The Alpha had a mission, and finding his mate wasn’t on that list of coming to the dark forest, yet there he was, the scent of honey filling his nostrils, his eyes glued to the silver hair omega lying on the sofa.
“This is wrong”. He muttered.
The Alpha began putting his clothes back on. He needed to leave before she awakened. He needed to return to the pack before he lost his father. And as for the omega, he needed to reject her and stay away from her.
Being with an omega is one ruin to his reputation, being a recessive omega is another. They wouldn’t make it. Their bonding will be frowned upon.
Coupled with the fact that the dominant Alpha had a wife already, his soon-to-be Luna. He shouldn’t have his heart wavered so easily. Besides, the Dominant Alpha never wanted his life to be predicted and established in accordance with the goals of a moon goddess that sits up there and watches evil play around the world without doing anything.
His chest tightened as he took one last glance at the sleeping figure. He wanted to leave, he was going to leave. Nothing could change his mind, but he just couldn’t leave her that way. So he drapes a blanket over her, then searches for a deep pen with ink before grabbing the brown paper to write down his message.
It did break his heart while he wrote down those words that would tear the innocent omega apart. He felt he had wronged her, and used her to solve his rut and was now leaving her. But there was nothing more he could do. He certainly could not bring her to the world as his mate.
And he didn’t love her. Kyros never fell in love.
He said nothing about his background in the paper. All he wrote down was how he couldn’t have her as his mate, how she should never try to find him, and how she should forget everything that happened between them. He rejected her with his written words and left the paper for her before exiting the cabin door.
Kyros did know he was wrong for taking advantage of the silver-haired’s innocence, but there was no way for him to turn back the wheels of time to stop himself, so instead, he marched forward and began to make his way back to where he belonged.
The Dominant Alpha reached the pack castle in no time after renting a horse on his way back. However, stepping into the pack’s castle, the mood seemed different.
It had been dull for the past week as his father had fallen ill, and everyone was on their toes, some wishing for his death and others praying his life was preserved.
It turned out Kyros's older brother was among the people wishing their father was dead, and he had found out in the dark forest that his older brother was the one who had poisoned their father. And that was when it all blew up.
Kyros's relationship with his brother had never been the ideal sibling relationship. Despite how much younger Kyros tried to get closer, his older brother was always repulsed by his existence, so he stopped trying. However, he didn’t expect his older to be that greedy and evil.
He had confessed to his crime in the dark forest, and he had also destroyed the only plant that could heal their father from the mysterious illness consuming him.
His injuries were caused by the fight he had with his brother. However, his brother had poisoned him with wolf’s bane essence and tried to kill him.
It wasn’t in Kyros's interest to kill his older brother, but after hearing all he had done and witnessing how evil his brother was, he couldn’t help it.
As he climbed up the stairs to his father’s chambers, the air became thick, and then it began to dawn on him.
“Son!” His mother cried out when he came in sight, his eyes fixed on the unconscious white-haired elderly man lying on the bed.
“Your father-”. His mother could not finish her sentence, but he knew already his father was gone. He had lost both his father and brother, and he had to be strong, for the pack and mostly for his mother.
“Sir, it’s only a matter of time before the news spreads, what should we do?” Theon, his beta, muttered behind him and Kyros nodded. He truly had no time to swallow all that has happened these past few days.
“We will need to hold the enthronement ceremony. "Gather the governing councils and other leaders.” Kyros ordered.
“What about Arthur?” His mother questioned him, and he knew he had a lot to explain to her.
The days went by fast and the mourning was cut short as Kyros had a lot on his plate, his mother’s will to be a healer and exit the Pack’s house, the new responsibility that had been thrown at his desk, his wife’s constant worries about getting a child.
At this point, Kyros could no longer touch his wife. He could not with his concubines either. All the Dominant Alpha could think of was the silver hair with hazy blue eyes. The honey scent that he craved to inhale again, the soft, pale petite omega he wished to have in his arms.
Kyros thought he would forget her, but even after the months passed by, he couldn’t. Nor could he forget that night. His need to have her with him increased.
“You seem out of it dear, do you want me to get you anything?” His wife whispered as he tried to fall asleep, to dream about that pair of hazy blue eyes.
“Get your hands off me Margaret”. He glared at the recessive female Alpha who had been trying to seduce him.
“What is wrong with me touching my husband? Don’t you want to have kids with me, don’t you want an heir?” She was annoying Kyros further.
“I don’t want anything from you. Return to your chambers before I get the guards to kick you out of this pack”, Kyros threatened, holding back a growl.
He didn’t feel guilty about his attitude towards his wife. He never loved her. They were married because of their parents and the Alpha could never imagine having a child with the recessive Alpha.
He would rather have it with someone else. His mind trailed to the petite omega, and he couldn’t keep it in anymore. He went down to his study and called for his Beta after coming to a conclusion.
“Sir, you called for me?” The Beta spoke immediately he walked into the study, indicating his arrival.
“I need you to find someone and bring her to me”. He began, darting his gaze to the full moon shining down on the earth's surface.
“Who should I search for Alpha?” Theon questioned.
“My omega”.
