She didn't know how much time had passed since she was tossed into her prison but the four walls that encased Laurie in the tomb cell were closing in and suffocating her. She knew no one was coming to her aid and the tiny cell walls seemed to observe and relentlessly mock her. Sweat coated her palms and dripped off her temples. Taking off Joe's nylon jacket, she immediately felt the rush of cool air on her damp, sweaty skin, and as she folded it, she was surprised to feel a hard object inside. Opening an inner pocket, she reached inside for the object and grasped a pocket knife. An inkling of a smile touched her face as she carefully opened the knife and inspected its blade.
