No right! Yes, without the people of the Wild State, the entire Qi Ling State would have been overwhelmed by the beast tides long ago. While other states rotated in their support, the people of the Wild State had borne the brunt of the sacrifices. They were heroes! "Hello, Valentina," a voice suddenly rose from the crowd. Ryan, who had been sitting, raised his hand and stood up. The attention shifted to him as he slightly bowed towards Valentina. "I’m Ryan from Baiyu City, Qi Ling State. My city borders the Wild State, and every person from the Wild State is a guest in our city. I wish you all the best today and in the future! If you ever need anything, feel free to reach out to me." Many people paused for a moment before whispering among themselves. "It's Ryan, the young lord of Baiyu City! The sixteen-year-old sixth-tier gold element mage!" "A genius is right next to us?!" "Ah, since Ryan said it, then our Red Flame City supports it too!" Another lazy voice came from the crowd. A figure in red brocade leaned against a table, with broad shoulders and a slim waist. His tall, relaxed posture made the girls’ hearts race with excitement. "It's Jett from Red Flame City! He's also known to be a genius!" "Ugh, they’re both so handsome! I could have either of them!" It was well-known that Red Flame City and Baiyu City had a good relationship, so no one was surprised by Jett’s comment. Valentina observed their demeanor and realized that while their words were likely genuine, there might be an underlying motive. Still, their words were heartfelt, so she nodded to both of them. "Thank you, both! I look forward to working with you in the future! I won’t hold back!" With a smile that was as bright as the clear sky after rain, she seemed to bring sunshine into the classroom. Her eyes shimmered like stars, leaving the onlookers mesmerized. In an instant, the boys' hearts began to race faster. Valentina recalled the sword techniques she had learned from her father’s friend, the Sword Saint Yunya, and casually borrowed a longsword from a nearby student. The Stellarium family had never been one to back down, especially not against such a fool. Cain, ignored once more, saw that his earlier remarks were dismissed by Valentina in just a few words. Enraged, he deliberately spoke louder, "Why talk about all this nonsense? Stop trying to embellish yourself, just come up already!" Valentina shifted her gaze, coldness in her eyes. She looked at him with contempt as she spoke in a sharp tone, "That Fuhu Fist you just showed is probably not even strong enough to kill a low-tier beast. It's just showy, like a flower pillow. If the Nightshade family patriarch knew you were flaunting this outside, he'd probably be furious enough to send you back to the womb!" Feili, overhearing this, couldn’t help but laugh, quickly covering his mouth with his fist, coughing to suppress the chuckle. This fiery-tempered girl was right on point, though she didn’t hold back in her words! "What did you say?! You little brat!" Cain’s face turned pale with rage. Hearing Valentina’s last words pushed him to his limit, and with a ferocious glare, he threw a punch aimed at her face. How dare a country bumpkin from Arid Region speak to him like that! He would make her pay today! In his clenched fist, a glint of cold light flashed. Between his middle and ring fingers was a small triangular spike. If it hit, it would leave a small hole; if it struck a vital point, it would be fatal. The punch rushed toward her, but Valentina couldn’t help but smile. This was his best move? Her right hand swiftly drew the sword, and with a quick step, she leaped over Cain’s attack, then spun around, thrusting the sword cleanly at his neck. Cain felt a gust of wind behind him and quickly turned, only to be kicked in the thigh, stumbling backward. Seizing the opportunity, Valentina held the sword to his neck. "You lost." Cain didn’t understand why his mighty Fuhu Fist had been subdued in two moves. Still, he wasn’t ready to admit defeat. He turned his head and dodged the sword, throwing another punch. Valentina’s lips curled up in a mocking smile. Her gaze was filled with disdain, as if Cain was nothing more than trash on the floor. In Cain’s shocked gaze, Valentina suddenly struck again, so fast that he couldn’t see her move. He only felt a sharp pain in his hand. The triangular spike fell to the ground with a clang. The sword had barely grazed his hand, knocking the spike loose, and it had come within an inch of his eye. Cain’s body stiffened, his face drained of color. His pupils constricted to pinpricks. Before he could react, he felt a sudden pain in his wrist, and he screamed in agony. Valentina retrieved her sword and casually bowed, not even looking at the trembling figure in front of her. She spoke nonchalantly, "Apologies. Your skill doesn't seem that great, and I couldn't show much. You wouldn’t mind, would you?" She paused, as if just noticing Cain's bleeding hand, her face showing surprise, "Oh no, your hand is bleeding! I didn’t mean to do that! I’ve only fought beasts before; I didn’t realize your skin wasn’t as tough as theirs!" "Pffft—hahaha!" Jett couldn’t hold back and burst out laughing. Those words, said with just enough irony, were sure to enrage anyone. She mocked his lack of skill and compared his skin to beast hide—truly ruthless! But Jett liked it. Feili, unable to contain himself, chuckled and then quickly stopped, "It seems the tendon might be severed. You’ll need a sixth-tier water mage to treat it. I’ll take him to the infirmary. The rest of you may leave after class." Valentina embraced Amanda, who had rushed over in excitement, then walked over to Ryan and Jett, smiling. "Thank you both again for supporting Arid Region." However, Ryan shook his head. "It’s not about supporting Arid Region, it’s about supporting you." Valentina was confused. From a strategic standpoint, Baiyu City and Red Flame City were indeed great allies of Arid Region. Jett finally straightened his lazy posture and spoke with a more serious tone, "Today, Ryan and I did this simply because we admire you." "A month from now, there will be a freshman trial. Ryan and I are both a gold and fire mage, but we still need two more members. If you’re willing, you and your friend can join us." Amanda, overwhelmed by the attention from two handsome geniuses, blushed and immediately agreed. Valentina, however, stopped her, looking a bit embarrassed. "I think both of you are probably sixth-tier, while Amanda and I are only third and fourth-tier. We might slow you down. She’s a wood mage, and I’m a water mage." Upon hearing this, Amanda also grew worried. "Yes, we might not be up to the task." Jett winked at her. "Don’t worry, I’ve heard it’s not too hard. You won’t drag us down. It’s actually good that you both have control and healing abilities. They could be very useful. And, besides, this trial is a month away. You have plenty of time to train." Valentina thought this was a reasonable suggestion. With two strong people on their team, it couldn’t hurt to join. Just as she was about to agree, a sudden, unbearable pain surged through her dantian, quickly spreading throughout her body. Her vision went dark, and she collapsed unconscious.
