Chapter 5: The Teenage Policy

1786 Words
Madeline's POV The music in the car was blasting and everybody had all the energy of life. We were all singing and our hair was swaying back and forth to the music. Stella was having the time of her life. Kyle lowered the music. "We're here," he said. Everybody looked out the window and I looked at the club in admiration. It had a big blue neon sign which read SCAR. I loved it. I could feel the music vibrating out the club and tons of people were lined up. "What if they know we're too young?" I said to Kyle. "One of the ushers are my cousins," Ciara said. I smiled. Kyle looked down the street for a parking space and we all groaned because we had to park far. When he finally found one, he parked and we all got out of the car. Stella and Ciara were both next to me and Kyle and his friend got out behind us. I turned around and smiled at Lucas and he smiled back. Kyle looked at him. I looked away. Well, somebody was jealous. We were getting closer to the club because I could feel the goosebumps rise and I could hear the music. I looked at Ciara and at Stella and they were all staring at the club. I glanced back and saw that Kyle and Lucas were too. Their eyes were literally glued to it like they felt/saw something so I felt left out. "Guys?" I nervously laughed. First, Ciara looked away. Then, slowly along with Stella, Lucas and Kyle. "Woah, it looks so hot. Did you guys feel it too?" Stella said looking at everybody. I looked at her like she was crazy. Feel what? Stella felt me staring and her eyes gazed to me. "The music," Ciara smiled at me reassuringly. "Oh! Yeah, I feel it," I said. Stella and Cearra smiled and then kept walking. I followed right beside them. I felt an arm snake its way around my waist. "Hey," Kyle whispered in my ear. I looked up at him and he smiled so that his pearly whites showed. His eyes were glistening under the bright moon light and all I could see was admiration. "Uh, hey," I said back nervously. I was seriously not used to a guy being all over me like this. This basically would be impossible back home. I would've had to be the state's number one w***e or something. "You look really good," he admitted. A sly smirk crept up my face but then it was wiped off when my arm was yanked towards something. I turned around and saw that Ciara was holding me and all of a sudden I was being pulled towards the club. I gave Kyle a sorry look, he only smiled and looked away. I started biting my inner lip as we got closer to the huge line. I thought we would wait in line but instead, Ciara turned and walked over to the side of the building. My eyebrows came together but then I saw two other ushers waiting on the side of the building. One of them looked up and immediately recognized Ciara. "Thank you Justin, like literally," Ciara said and gave the guy a hug. He was in his late 20s but hey, he was hot. When she let go, his eyes roamed all over her body. He looked at her and she blushed. "Okay guys," Stella said breaking the awkwardness. Justin pulled back the red rope and let us inside the club. It was dark and it smelled like alcohol and fruits for some reason. It was still dark. I kept walking tightly behind Stella and Ciara. I could feel Kyle behind me. There was a black hallway and small white lights on the wall. My music became louder and I was becoming excited. For some strange reason, I didn't even mind the fact of how close Kyle was to me. This hallway looked like the inside of Abercrombie and Fitch. Stella looped her arm around mine and pulled me closer to a door. The people in front of us opened the door and I looked at everything in admiration. There were bright blue and purple neon lights in the dark, huge room of people dancing and drinking. Fast music was playing and people were chattering. A group of guys walked past us and Stella immediately looked up. She turned around, winked at me, and walked away. My eyebrows raised. Now, I was left with Ciara and the boys. "I'm going to find the other guys," Ciara yelled in my ear. I nodded and looked around again. I almost jumped and then relaxed when I noticed it was Kyle behind me. "Sorry, did I scare you?" Kyle said. I looked at him and shook my head. He smiled again. "I'll go get some drinks," he yelled in my ear. I slightly nodded and he walked away into the crowd. I was seriously now left with Lucas. I walked away before it became anymore awkward. I didn't know where I was going, but I definitely hoped Lucas wouldn't find me. I kind of forgot about Kyle getting me drinks, but I'm not going back. He'll find me later. I kept walking a bit closer to the crowd and watched at two couples dancing on the floor. I smiled then sighed. It made me realize how much of a loner I was. Somebody tall bumped into me and turned around. I looked at him weirdly and he quickly turned around. "Oh I'm sorry, my friend pushed me here. Hey, wanna dance?" he asked. I tried to look at him closely in the dark light. He was handsome but I guess I'll dance with him. "Sure," I said. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me deep into the crowd. I turned around and my body swayed to the beat. The song was not as fast but it was good. Another song played and I felt a kick inside me to dance more. I pulled the guys hand up and dipped lower. My head glanced back and the guy was astonished, but he was dancing along. I laughed and danced faster. I was getting sweaty, but I didn't care. The guy grabbed my hips and pulled me closer to him. Two people stopped to look at our dancing and I blushed. I felt his hot, sticky breath on my neck and I slightly pulled away. He pulled me closer and my heart started racing. I tried pulling away again, but he wouldn't budge. "Hey um," I said under the loud music. He couldn't have heard me. I pulled my hand away and the guy looked at me weirdly. He leaned into my ear. "What's wrong?" he said. "I'm hot. I'm going to go get a drink. Bye," I said and quickly walked away before he tried grabbing me like that again. I turned around again and saw that somebody was in front of the guy I was just dancing with. His face became blank and serious and he nodded. The overwhelming smell of cinnamon and wood hit my senses and I suddenly became lightheaded. Somebody clearly had too much cologne on. I walked away from the crowd but the smell was still there. This was odd. I wiped my neck and pulled all my hair back trying to fan myself quickly. A bathroom trip was a must. I was so close to the door until I felt a hand grab my wrist. I looked up and Kyle had two cups in his hands. He leaned in. "Hey, I was looking for you everywhere," he said. "Sorry, I was in the bathroom," I lied. Kyle looked up behind me and looked at me unconvinced. "You're heading to the bathroom right now," he said. "Yeah, I thought I left something in there," I said. He nodded and passed me the cup. I smelled it and the strong smell of liquor hit me. I shrugged and took a big sip. That was kind of refreshing even though it burned my throat. Kyle smiled again. He was about to speak but he was interrupted when somebody walked up to us. My eyes drifted to the guy who was standing in front of us. He had blonde, messy hair and an attractive jawline. His hazel green eyes stared at me and I instantly melted. Kyle was looking at the guy and he looked nervous. The man looked away from me after a while of staring, and his eyes drifted to Kyle. "Kyle," the guy said. Kyle's full attention was on him. Wait, this man knew his name. It was a club, what in the world. I looked at the guy closely and noticed he was wearing a business suit. Were we getting kicked out? Did he find out I'm underage? Oh no. "Yes?" He said. "Can I speak to this girl for a minute?" The unknown man said. My heart started racing. Why did this random guy want to talk to me? Oh god, I was going to get kicked out wasn't I? Kyle nodded and I stared at him. No! He can't leave me with this guy. What if I get raped? It was too late to say anything because Kyle walked away and I was met face to face with the overly good-looking guy who was standing in front of me and looked like a God. Was I in heaven or something because I think I just grew wings and flew over the rainbow of love.  Okay, maybe that was a bit too dramatic, but I swear I was drooling. Focus! He knows you're 17, Madeline! "So, I saw you and your friends come in to my club," he said. His voice made my knees buckle. I don't know why I was acting like this but I guess it was because of how beautiful he was. "Mhm. Wait, this is your club?" I stopped and looked at him. He nodded. "All mine. Now, I know your real age Madeline," he said. I looked down and then at the crowd. I felt so embarrassed. "Okay, I'll leave, sorry," I said and frowned. The fun just started and I guess the party got shut down already. Wait a minute, this guy knew my name. Let me stall. "How'd you know my name?" I asked. He smiled but I didn't even care about him not answering because that smile kept me busy for a few seconds. "I know people," he said. "Oh, because that doesn't sound creepy at all!" I threw my hands up. "I'll leave anyways. I just need to find my friends," I said. "My name is Marcos," he said. "If you're not gone in ten minutes, I'm going to have to kick out all of your friends. Listen, I don't want to kick you out, but I can't have teenage girls in my club. It's the policy." "Okay, I understand. I'll just go now," I said and looked back at the crowd. I looked at Marcos one last time and he gave me a look. I couldn't tell what kind of look it was, but it made me nervous and excited. "I hope I don't have to kick you out personally Maddy," he said. He just called me Maddy! Oh my gosh, I had a nickname already. I nodded and turned around. I knew he was staring and I blushed.
