POWER

Chapter 2

"Something terrible has happened here" the black knight said as he and the small army of knights he led looked upon the town. "Over there" a knight said pointing towards the woman who was standing in a pool of blood from the brutally killed townsfolk around her. "So that's the power I've heard about" the black knight said as his crest began to glow and he took out his sword which covered itself in white aura. "Get ready to contain her!!" he shouted riding his horse fast towards her. The woman looked at him angrily before flying towards him and taking him of his horse which then started to burn in black flames.The knight's crest began to glow brighter which made the woman snarl before throwing the knight down and she started attacking him ferociously from the air but the knight blocked her attacks using his sword with its aura slowly fading away. The sword then broke when the aura surrounding it was gone and she continued attacking him but the crest spread white aura around his armour as he continued blocking using his hands until he managed to grab hold of her and threw her hard onto the ground. "My turn" he said about to punch her but she held his fist and began to crush it with the white aura starting to turn black. She floated up whilst still holding on to his hand and repeatedly attacked him with her other one which covered itself in aura until he was badly injured with his blood dripping down from his now heavily damaged armour which had small traces of white aura left. As she held him up by the throat to finish him off glowing white chains began to tie around her. She let go of the knight and looked around noticing that the other knights had surrounded her and were now throwing the chains around her. She erupted large amounts of black flame but the chains did not brake as they consumed the black flame whilst being powered by the crests glowing brightly on the knights. She fell to her knees roaring and struggling as her clothing and hair changed back to normal including her eyes before she fainted. "Are you ok commander?" some knights asked slowly picking up the black knight. "What took you guys so long?" he jokingly asked before coughing out blood. "That power really is dangerous" he said watching as the other knights cautiously secured the chains around her which formed their crest before carrying her into a metal carriage." No wonder she's called a demon" one of the knights remarked as they carried the black knight........

The woman moaned before slowly waking up and noticing that she was in a metal carriage. She looked down to see herself in glowing chains and struggled against them in vain with her aura being cancelled out by them. "s**t" she said slowly standing up before looking through the openings around the carriage to see knights surrounding it as they moved towards the entrance of a giant city surrounded by a big wall that had several archers positioned on top of it. The metal doors of the entrance opened up when they reached it and they rode into the crowded city full of busy merchants and people moving around. "Looks like everything's still the same as I left it" she said looking around as they continued going towards the centre of the city where a giant castle was positioned. They passed through the guarded castle gates and into the green field located within them until they reached the front of the castle where they stopped. The door of the carriage opened and she saw multiple knights pointing spears towards her."p*****s" she said jumping out of the carriage and they led her into the castle until they reached an old man wearing royal clothing and a crown who sat on a throne whilst examining a scroll."We've finally found you Commander" the old man said looking up at her."It's now just back to Rose my king, I discarded that title years ago""she told him."I see"he said looking at her chains." I don't think will be needing those anymore " he told the knights signalling for the chains around her to be removed but the guards looked at him confused."I know what I'm doing" he told them and they reluctantly took them off slowly but kept their guard up as Rose stretched her arms."Now everyone, leave us and make sure to close the door" he said and the knights all looked at each other and bowed before exiting the room and closing the door. "Now,from the report I've been given it seems you had awakened that same power just like five years ago"

"Wait you know about it !!?"

"First of,why have you been gone for all these years?" he asked her and she stayed silent for a while."When it first happened and I regained control all I could see were the terrified and tear filled expressions of my dead comrades around me and when I tried speaking to a survivor she couldn't even say a word cause she was so afraid of me" she replied him.

"I couldn't handle knowing I could possibly lose control like that again and the faces people would start looking at me with after they heard what had happened so I decided it was best if I just disappeared" she continued and he nodded.

"What you unleashed was a dark power that has been passed down through the relations it has had with your red aura" he told her and she looked at him confused.

"What dark power?"

"Some ages ago one of the previous users' of your red aura used that power as their last resort to defeat someone who was planning to wreak havoc on multiple worlds but it came at a cost of tainting the original aura so it has been going with it to the new users it goes to" he replied picking up an old scroll and opening it.

"After consecutive cases of it being unleashed during the years and destroying many kingdoms the forefathers of the kingdoms decided its best to kill those that possessed the original aura as infants" he told her.

"Wait so they killed innocent children!?"she asked angrily.

"It was done under secrecy as the medics that regularly helped women give birth would inform the king if they had the red eyes which symbolized the original aura and they would be killed"

"I can't believe they would do such a thing"

"They were scared because that power was very dangerous"

"But how come I haven't heard of this before and furthermore been killed?"

"Red eyed children stopped being born for a long time making new appointed kings and those who knew about it forget every passing generation until it was completely forgotten by the time you were born"

"So, what are you going to do with me?"

"Nothing, until we find a way to cleanse you of it but for now you have to stay here inside the city walls because the other kingdoms have deemed you too much of a threat to still be alive"

"That's no new news to me after the countless mercenaries they sent"

"Also I'd like a report on what you were doing before you lost contr...." he was interrupted by a female teenager with brown eyes and long brown hair who burst into the room wearing a knight's heavy armour whilst sweating."Rose!!!"she shouted rushing towards her and hugging her tightly."I was told everything, I knew you weren't the demon people were saying you were" she said. "Look how much you've grown princess Aisha, last time I saw you you were still struggling to walk around in that" Rose said smiling as Aisha let her go.

"Ya well it has been a while since you've last seen me, so where have you been this whole time?"

"I've been, around, I see you're still training"Rose said looking at the armour she wore.

"Yes, I still haven't given up on my dream of leading a female squadron like you did with The Order"

"She's been training hard ever since you left" the king told Rose.

"I might even be stronger than you now,well, without you using your aura of course" Aisha boasted. "Keep dreaming" Rose told her."Why don't we go find out outside then?" Aisha challenged her. "I don't think that's a good....."" No no it'll be fine" Rose said interrupting the king whilst smiling."But...."" Don't worry it'll just be a sparring match" Rose reassured him whilst looking at him annoyed and he held his head. "Well if you say so" he said after a while and Aisha squealed ecstatically. "Shall we?" Rose asked gesturing to the door.......

"Are you ready?" Aisha, who was now wearing white light armour, asked as they stood in the field outside the castle whilst being watched by the king who had two knights beside him. "Its been a while since I've held a training sword" Rose said testing and examining the wooden sword she was given. "Maybe that will be your advantage" Rose teased Aisha who smiled." I hope you don't use that as an excuse for when I beat you and remember the rule"

"Ya ya I'm not allowed to use my power" she said flipping the sword and catching it before going into a battle stance."Let's get this over already"

"With pleasure" Aisha said picking up her training sword and also going into a battle stance."Remember, the one who submits or has their sword broken first loses" the king told them. "Now begin!!!!" the king shouted and Aisha, using remarkable speed, dashed towards Rose and started attacking her. "You're faster" Rose said blocking all her attacks until she noticed her sword starting to break a bit so she parried her away. "More powerful to" Rose said looking at the part that was about to break but Aisha didn't waste any time quickly standing up and continued attacking. "But you're just a few years too early to beat me" Rose told her forcing her to lose her footing on her last attack and hitting her on the stomach with her shoulder before slashing her sword at her very hard which Aisha tried to block resulting in her sword breaking apart making her fall."Looks like it's my win" Rose said smiling whilst pointing her sword at Aisha. "Fine" Aisha said reluctantly and Rose dropped her sword onto the ground. "Who trained you that well"Rose asked helping her up. "That would be me" she heard someone say and looked behind her to see an old muscular man who had bandages around his body walking towards them. "Of course it was"Rose said sighing."Commander Edwin here was the one in charge of looking for you all these years and was also the one that fought you" the king told her. "Oh so you're the one who took me on" Rose said examining the bandages. "Sorry about that" he told him before he grinned and hugged her. "A master has to take care of his students doesn't he" he said letting her go. "I'm surprised though I thought you would've been more beaten up, did you use your last resource?"

"No we had a plan to contain you but your sister patched me up real good and she also can't wait to see you"

"My sis.....oh s**t" Rose said before two blue barriers squashed her and made her face a woman, with blue short hair wearing blue and white light armoured leather clothing looking at her angrily with her glowing blue eyes. "Hi Eve" Rose struggled to say whilst still being squashed by the barriers. "Mind to explain why you left without even saying goodbye?" she asked with the barriers squeezing Rose harder." You know I'm not good with goodbyes" Rose jokingly said before Eve sighed and the barriers disappeared dropping Rose to the ground. "You could've made the landing a little softer you know" Rose complained standing up before Eve hugged her whilst crying. "I missed you so much" Eve told her continuing to cry. "And I missed you to lil sis" Rose said returning the hug........

"Just like the last time it awakened I managed to control that power for a while to completely obliterate the creature attacking me, reason why you guys didn't find its remains by the way,before I felt pain in my head and everything went black but later on I woke up on my way here" Rose said telling them what happened as they all finished eating in the dining hall of the castle. "That creature sounded really powerful" Edwin said concerned. "Ya you're lucky to be alive here right now if it actually wasn't for....." Aisha said looking at her and Rose frowned. "Can't believe I actually have to be grateful to it" she told everyone whilst clenching her fists. "Yes, well let's just hope there aren't any more of those things around" the king said thinking. "Oh ya by the way how are the townsfolk doing, I'm pretty sure they were still cheerful even though the fight destroyed their town" Rose said smiling and the room fell silent. "That's odd why did you guys suddenly go quite?" she asked them as they looked at each other. Eve touched her hand and she looked at her seeing concern in her face. "No" Rose said looking around. "I'm so sorry Rose" Eve told her and she looked at Edwin. "Did I?" she asked him and he looked away. "Did I!!!!" she shouted at him with tears trickling down her face and he looked at her. "We found yo...I mean it hovering over their bodies" he reluctantly told her and she ran out of the room. "Rose!!!" Eve shouted following her."Rose" Aisha said concerned and went after them leaving the king and Edwin alone. "I feel bad for her" Edwin said as he was left alone with the king. "First her team and now this"

"That power is well known for destroying everything around it"

"Is killing her really the only option, I mean won't it just come back with the next descendant?"

"That's what the forefathers say even though we still fear it may retaliate but maybe, if she is able to temporarily control it like she said....."

"You think there's a way she can control it completely?"

"I'm not quite sure but from her being able to do so for short spans of time, maybe she can"the king said standing up and walking out of the room...….....

"So this is where you've been " Eve said after using a barrier to float up to the roof of the castle where Rose sat looking at the city whilst drinking a bottle of ale. "They meant something to you didn't they?" Eve asked sitting next to her."Before that I found out that I had this power in me and my team was still alive we had saved that town from a monster attack, when I passed through it whilst looking for a place to stay they accepted me even though everyone in the kingdom was calling me a dangerous demon and helped hide me from people that came looking for me" Rose told her with tears trickling down. "They didn't deserve to die"

"I know" Eve said putting Rose's head on her lap. "But you have to remember it wasn't you"

"But I.....""No, you risked your life to save them, you can't keep blaming yourself for what it did because it wasn't you " Eve interrupted her. "They cared about you and will not resent you in the after life for something you didn't do in your right mind, even right now I bet they're still watching out for you" Eve said and Rose's eyes started glowing as she saw the smiling faces of the villagers in front of her before her eyes stopped glowing and they disappeared. "And I'm supposed to be the older one here" Rose said chuckling whilst sitting up and wiped the tears off her face. "Thanks" she said smiling at her. "No problem" Eve said returning the smile and they both looked at the city for a while. "So, how've you been these past five years" Rose asked putting her head down on Eve's shoulder.

"After you left I worked even harder at the academy on my defence barriers until one day I found out I had the affinity to heal as well"

"I was surprised when master Edwin told me you had patched up his wounds"

"Ya well after the academy found out about it they put me in a support class instead of defense as I was a rare aura user type healer and after I graduated last year I was put as the commanding medical officer for the army"

"Impressive"

"I was supposed to go out with Commander Edwin to find you but they couldn't risk......"" You getting hurt by me, I get it"Rose interrupted her with Eve lying on her head. "Don't worry we'll find a way to free you from it".

"Ya, I know" Rose told her before Aisha climbed out of a window and walked carefully towards them."You know most of us can't come up here easily like you two right " she told them as she sat on the other side of Rose. "I'm sorry about what happened" Aisha said to Rose who smirked and put her arms over both of them. "It's ok,its not like you did anything" she said putting her arms over them. "Besides, at least I still have you guys around"........

Rose opened her eyes to see herself facing a woman with long red hair and dark eyes who was wearing a damaged bloody red light armour. "It was the only way" she said to Rose who looked at her confused before her whole body turned black and she exploded. Rose woke up in bed gasping for air with sweet dripping down her head. "What was that about?" she asked herself whilst holding her head but suddenly the whole room began to shake with large sounds coming from outside. "What the hell is going on!?" she asked herself quickly getting out of bed and changing into her clothes before rushing out of the room. "Holy s**t" she said after getting out of the castle and noticing a barrier that was surrounding the city breaking with the city being over run by undead winged beasts and warriors. "This doesn't look good" Aisha said running out of the castle next to Rose whilst wearing her light armour from the day before. "Incoming!!!" they heard someone shout and something almost crashed onto them. "Nice of you to drop in" Rose said with her eyes glowing whilst holding up Eve who was surrounding herself in a barrier."Where are you coming from?" Rose asked after putting her down. "I was blasted away by the person who seems to be leading this attack but I left Edwin fighting against her " she told them but then some winged beasts started flying towards the castle firing dark purple balls of aura at it. Eve's eyes glowed as she formed a barrier to protect them from the blasts with the castle being protected by white aura that appeared around it. "We better get inside" Aisha said and they ran into the castle. "What's the situation?" the king asked a knight who was kneeling in front of him as the castle shook a bit from the blasts coming from outside. "The defence barrier of the city was easily taken down by their leader including the wall and every time our forces are killed they join the enemies forces as undead resulting in their army steadily increasing in size whilst ours continues to struggle" he told him. "Where's Commander Edwin?"

"His fighting the leader right now" Eve told him as they entered the room."There's only one person I know who specializes with the undead" Rose said and the king nodded."Hayles"

"But the person leading this army wasn't Hayles but a female" Eve told them."Wait so another necromancer actually exists!!?" Aisha asked surprised. "I guess but she must be pretty formidable if she can lead and power an army of this size so we better be careful" Rose told them when suddenly the castle began shaking violently and a giant dark purple orb broke through the roof and landed in front of them. "On your guard everyone" Rose said with both her and Eve's eyes starting to glow and Aisha and the few knights in the room readied their weapons. The orb started disappearing revealing a woman with long dark purple hair wearing a dark purple dress looking at them with her dark purple eyes glowing and behind her stood a man with rough blonde hair wearing glasses and regular clothes with a long white coat over them. "So you must be the big bad" Rose said looking at the woman."What do you want?"

"To be remembered by history" the woman replied her. "And who may you be exactly?" the king asked her. "Elina, the queen of darkness" she

told them and the kings' face went white." Father, are you ok?"Aisha asked him concerned. "So someone does remember me" Elina said smiling. "What happened to the person you were fighting?" Eve asked her. "You mean him" Elina replied putting up her hand which emitted aura showing them an undead Edwin fighting alongside the other undead. "I liked his fighting power so I decided to add him into my army"

"No"Eve said sadly watching with red aura slowly starting to emit from Rose as her eyes glowed brighter. "I'm going to end you".......
