Chapter 9
Hunter's POV
I could tell that Bayley wanted to talk about something, but she kept putting it off. I wasn't going to pressure her either. She just got here. I wanted to show her everything, but when I was done showing her the inside, she just stood in the room. It was like she was talking to something. I could tell she was unique, not a dog, something else. It didn't freak me out nor scare my wolf, but I was curious to know more about her. I waited, and then she turned and said,
"Hunter, I think we need to talk." Alright, hopefully she wanted to discuss what's going on or what she really wanted.
"Come on, let's go to our room; these walls aren't soundproof, but our room is,"
"Alright." We went to our room, I pulled out a chair for her to sit down, and then I sat in the chair beside her.
"Alright, you said you wanted to talk to me. The walls are soundproof in here, so no one will be able to hear us talk."
"Well, I'm not sure what I can tell you about myself, but for starters, I'm really not a dog. I can shift into one, but seriously, I'm not a dog. I am a Shepard Lycan, the last of my kind. I can shift into anything I want as long as I can touch it. My whole clan got killed, and the place burned down. I'm not sure how I ended up in the middle of the woods. My memory isn't fully back yet, but from time to time, I have flashbacks. It is true; I am Jessica's protector. I can sense it when I am near her.”
"So, you're telling me you are a Shepard Lycan that can shift into anything you touch. Could it be just an animal or any living object or person?"
"If you're asking me if I could shift into a tree, no, I can't do that. But if you're asking me if I can simply touch you and then shift into you, yes, I can do that. However, I can't transform into an object."
"s**t, this woman is more powerful than I thought she was. It would be really cool to see her Lycan form. I have heard of many Lycans, but never a Shepard Lycan. I knew my father had many books in the library. I'm going to go in there and look for books on them."
“Is there any way I could see her? I mean, you don't have to if you don't want to, but I would love to see her, and I know Cena, my wolf, would love to see her.”
"The room is big enough, so yeah, sure," she didn't even take her clothes off, and she started shifting quickly. It only took a few minutes for her to shift into her lycan. Now, I'm jealous. I wish it would take that time to shift into my wolf, but every werewolf is different. When she was done, she was standing there. I had to look up at her. She was a brown lycan with green eyes. She stood tall. She had a little tail. The tips of her ears were white. The claws on her hands looked like they could slice a car hood apart. Her teeth looked like they could bite through any metal. Yikes. I'd rather not piss her off. I could tell why they call them shapeshifter Lycans; their noses are a little long, but that's about it. She shifted back, fully clothed. I knew I would need to get her on shopping sites to buy clothes for herself. After our talk, I will bring it up with her.
“So, you don't mind me being a powerful Lycan?" Wait, did she just ask me this? Is she insane?
“Of course, I don't mind. I've got me a tough mate," she laughed, sitting back in the chair.
“I do have a question for you, it's just a simple question, do you have any clothes?”
“No, I don't, but I do have money. So, from time to time, I go to the human part of town and buy a set of clothes to change into. Sometimes I buy two sets of clothes, so I can rent a room, take a shower, then change into the other set. I go from pack to pack. They see no danger in me, so they let me stay for a while, and then I leave.”
“But why do that? Why not stay and become a member?”
“Because I knew my mate wasn't in the packs I stayed at. Why stay in a pack when my mate isn’t there?” she was right. Why stick around without her mate? Then it occurred to me that I had to ask her.
“Are you staying here?” I didn't want to beg for her to stay, but I also knew she liked to keep moving. Sighing, I sat there waiting for her answer.
“I will be staying; we are mates, Hunter. This is my home now.” I got up, pulling her up to me. I held her tightly. “I was hoping you would say that. Come over here at the computer. You don't have to spend any money; I want you to get on the clothes shopping sites and get some clothes. My card is already on there, buy what you want.”
“But, Hunter, I don't need much.”
“Trust me, yes you do. Here, I will do it for you that way; you don't have to. Just tell me what you like, and I'll get them. Oh, and the sizes as well. So that's what we did for the next three hours. She kept telling me no on everything, but I got them anyway. I think she isn't used to people buying her things. I even got her a vanity table, shoes, purses, jewelry, makeup, bras, panties, socks, shoes, heels, and everything else. I even got her bathroom supplies as well and even bought items when it's that time of the month; we call that heat. It's when the females go into heat, and it's more likely for them to get pregnant. And there is the heat heat, where we both go into heat, and it will be different when she gets pregnant. We were finally done.
“So, everything should be here tomorrow morning. What would you like to do now?”
“How about you show me around outside, then we get something to eat?”
“Well, that sounds like a plan. Let's go.”
