Chapter 8
Bayley's POV
The pack was really kind, but there was one who said my scent smelled different. She was trying to cause trouble, but I put her in her place. She didn't bat an eye; she actually called me Luna. I think she was just testing if I would stand up for myself, and I did. Hunter showed me inside the pack house.
"Alright, this living room is for the kids. If they don't want to go upstairs to the game room, they can hang out here playing games. They can get kinda loud, so you can always tell them to lower their voices. Come on, I'll show you the kitchen and the dining hall," he took me to the kitchen. This place had three fire stoves, six deep freezers, and so much more. I loved the breakfast bar; it had a white marble center that went around the kitchen. I liked how it looked. This place was so clean that you could smell the cleaning supplies they used. The dining hall was just as beautiful, long white marble dining tables. I knew they had to take special care of them. Next was the picture hall. I had no clue what I was about to walk into. I was worried I was going to walk into so many photos that would creep me out, but it wasn't like that. It had a fountain in the middle, and as we got close, I could see little fish swimming inside it.
"Don't worry, we feed them daily. They don't grow any bigger, and once a month, we clean it out." I shouldn't have said "picture hall" because there are no photos in this room. I just wanted to show it off. On the wall are the swords that soldiers used in wars long ago. This pack house has been rebuilt over and over again. Before me and my father, there were my grandfather and my great-grandfather, and so on. Yes, my family has been around for many years. They have been knocked down and put back up. I even have letters from my grandfather and great-grandfather, but they are put up in something that can't wither away. I cherish them, and I will show them to you one day. On the second and third floors is where the unmated wolves live. They can not live on their own until they find a mate. Once they find a mate, they can choose a house I have built, or they could build one on their own. Now, on the fourth floor, let's take the elevator.
So we went in the elevator to the fourth floor; half the floor was a gym.
"There are other gyms outside on the side of the pack house, but some of the warriors like using this one. As you can see, we have everything you can name, and if we don't have it, I will see if we can get it. We also have a sauna where they can relax. There is also a game room where the kids can come and shoot, play old games, or just play on the computers. But there's a time limit for the computer. I had to do that because they would stay up here all day, forgetting their chores if I didn't put a time limit on them. Now, if you prefer to run laps by yourself, you can come up here and do it on the treadmill. No one will bother you unless they get on one of them themselves. But that's it. Alright, the fifth floor is for the gamma, the sixth floor is for the Beta, and well, we are on the seventh floor. We have a whole floor to ourselves, just like the Beta and Gamma. We have a kitchen, a living room, and well, we have a nursery. It was put there when my other mate got pregnant. Jessica is a beautiful young lady, and she has her own pack to run now. Come on, I will show you."
There was so much to see, but I couldn't wait to see what his floor looked like. I was excited to see it; my German Shepard was also excited. You see, I am really not just a dog; I am a Lycan, a rare Lycan. I can shift into anything I want to be or touch. I can touch a person and transform into them. I've only done it once to see what it was like. I learned no one liked her, so I had to hurry and shift back to myself. People think I am actually a dog. It's funny how thoughts can be deceiving. I am the rarest out there. Since my home has been destroyed by others, I do not even know how I ended up in the woods; that part of my memory is lost. We took the elevator to the top floor, our home, technically. The whole pack house is our home, but He says the top floor is our home. Walking off the elevator, my Lycan kept telling me to talk to him about "us."
"What's going to happen if he laughs? Then what? He will reject us."
“He's not going to laugh. This wolf has seen everything; he has been around for thousands of years, including his father and grandfathers. Are you kidding me? He's not going to laugh or reject us; he just lost a mate, for crying out loud. Do you think he's going to lose us?” Yeah, I guess she was right.
‘Alright, after the tour, I will talk to him about this. If he doesn't believe me, then I will have to show him. I'm a shifter, a shifter of everything. That might scare him, but it is what it is.’ We reached the top floor and got out of the elevator. He first showed me our room. This bedroom was huge; you could fit a house inside it. There was a huge bed in the middle of the room, three dressers, a walk-in closet. I would need to change the curtains, but other than that, it was beautiful. We even had a balcony overlooking the woods. The bathroom was just as big; it had a shower, a bathtub, even a huge sink for his and hers. The counter was a dark marble with little designs around it. We left the bedroom, and he showed me the kitchen, another gym, our dining room, and a sauna. It even had a jacuzzi; it was finally the end of the tour.
‘Alright, now tell him, because I'm bored of looking at rooms. If you don't I will.’
“Okay, okay, just give me a second, will you?” I turned to look at him; he was standing there watching me.
“Hunter, I think we need to talk.”
