Chapter 47
Macey's POV
After graduation, they let us take a week off to do what we wanted before we had to do the tough training. Shoot, I thought the things we were doing before were tough. Well, that was a lie. After that week of freedom doing what we wanted, we were right back to training and sparring. Trust me, being a full warrior is no game at all. They wanted us out here at four in the morning every single day. If we are even a minute late, we have to run a hundred laps. It's not fun. Because of not just running, we have to jump over rails, climb ropes, and then make our way hanging from monkey bars. And trust me, they're not the kids' kind of monkey bars. These things are high up, and if you fall, you fall into a huge mud puddle. No matter how many showers you take, it sticks on you for two days.
The first time I got roundhouse kicked by a full warrior, she had me flying through the air. She ran, slamming me on the ground so hard I lost my breath for a few minutes, and I had a knot on my head for a month. So I trained with her every single day until I could beat her, and I did just that. She would tell me what to watch for, and I did just that. She got me good when she broke my jaw, and I had to set it back in place. Trust me, it hurts like a *mmm*. The day I won instead of her, I roundhouse kicked her so hard she flew back, smashing into an old oak tree. When she hit it, it cracked the bark, and then tree limbs fell down on her. She was laughing so hard that I thought I was about to get my *** handed to me. But she got up, brushed herself off, then shook my hand.
“Well done, Grasshopper. You did well. You are now a full-fledged warrior.” We laughed so hard when she said that, but I was also excited about being a full-fledged warrior. She gave me my dagger and told me to keep it with me at all times. The dagger was beautiful. It had a crystal handle with tiny white rubies around it. The blade, oh damn, if you just rubbed your finger on the blade, it would cut you. I had to be really careful with it. My mom was so proud of me. She said she had never gotten a dagger like that. She will have to look it up and find out what it meant. But while she was doing that, I asked her,
“Melissa, why did you give me this dagger? It has powers in it that I shouldn't have. I'm not that special.” She looked at me like I grew three heads, then she told me,
“Honey, you don't know about yourself, do you? You're one of the strongest warriors. I am one of them, and you beat my ***. Yes, I know it took you a while to do that, but you did it. Everyone saw you do it. Also, I know you don't know your real father, but he is an alpha. I don't think your mom knew that he was. I was there that day at the club with your mom when he walked up to her. I left because I had found my mate, but I knew he was an alpha. I don't think I was supposed to tell you, but I have a feeling you're going to be meeting him soon, and so will your mother. So, yeah, you deserve that dagger. I saved it so one day, I could give it to someone who was more powerful than I was and the others, and you are it.” I stood there looking at her with my mouth dropped open. What did she just say? My father is an alpha. He can't be. There is no way. I had to ask my wolf, so as soon as training was over and I was in my room at the warrior house, I began to ask her.
Mailk, answer me now. Is my father an alpha? Don't you dare lie to me,” I heard her whimper, so I already knew the answer. I just wanted her to tell me.
“Yes, Macey, he is an alpha. But I wasn’t supposed to tell you this, nor Melissa. You were supposed to find out at an event, and then your mother is supposed to find him there.”
“Yeah, well, it can still happen. I wondered what event that would be. Damn, I’m sore today.”
“Well, you got thrown a few times, and then your nose and jaw got broken, but in the end, you won. I am proud of you, Macey.”
“Thanks, Mailk. I just hope that when I finally meet my father, he will be proud of me.”
“I'm sure he will, Macey. And if he's not, then he can kiss our ass.” I let out a laugh. My wolf had a way with words. She loved my mother, but Roger she didn't like it at all; she didn't like men because of the way Roger had treated us. I had to keep reminding her that not all guys are like that. Well, I hope they aren't.
