Chapter 38

Alpha Dean from the Blue Moon Pack, POV

My Luna and I were heading to Alpha Roman's pack. This wasn't about a treaty; it was about how he treated his pack members. I knew a few elders. They have told me what was going on with him and the pack, that he had a warrant out for Angela, but she only burnt down her old house and no one else's. He retracted the warrant, but he's been treating his pack poorly. So, I'm going there to check things out. My Luna is named Amy; she is a sweet and beautiful woman. She has been by my side since we were kids. Everyone thought we would be mates. We would hang out together and go clubbing, but we always thought of each other as friends. But once we started growing up, my feelings for her grew more than just friendship. I tried to block it because I didn't want her hurt if she wasn't my mate. So, for a while, we parted ways. We dated other people, but it never lasted. We would always find our way back to each other. The night came when I shifted; I knew then she was my mate. But I couldn't tell her. She was still not of age just yet. She was only seventeen at the time. She had shifted when she was sixteen, but once you're eighteen, that's when you will find your mate. When she finally turned eighteen, she came looking for me. I was in Dad's office at the time. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I was helping my Dad with paperwork when she knocked on the door. My Dad yelled out, "Come in, Amy." We thought at first she wanted to talk to my Dad, but once she opened that door and our eyes locked together, it was the end of talking to anyone. She came up to me and said, "Why didn't you say anything? Why didn’t you tell me we are mates?"I'm sorry, baby. But you weren't of age yet. It's against the rules to tell someone that you are mates when you are not of age," she understood. I pulled her to me and wouldn't let go. She was my better half – my whole world. There was no wonder why we kept finding our way back together every time. "Alright, kids, step apart. You're in my office. No making out in here unless I'm making out with my mate," he laughed as we rolled our eyes. He told us to go ahead and complete the bond. After that, we will announce Amy as the future Luna of the Blue Moon Pack. Like everyone knew it anyway. So, that's what we did. We went to her room since mine was a complete mess. I will need to get it cleaned up so she can move into my room. We mated all that day and half the night. I just could not get enough of her. The next day, Dad announced that Amy was the future Luna. Now that my parents had stepped down, I am now the Alpha, and Amy is now Luna. And now we are driving up to the gates of this pack. The guards looked like they were on guard. I liked that. They were walking back and forth, then looked around and did it again. When we drove up, they wouldn't let us drive up to the gate. I liked that as well. One of them came to the car.

“What purpose do you have here, sir?”

“I have a meeting with your alpha. You can mindlink him if you need to.” And just like that, his eyes clouded over for just a few seconds and then came back to normal.

“Alright, sir, you can go through it. Just follow the road up to the pack house,” I nodded, then said thank you. We waited for the gates to be open and then drove through them. I looked in the rearview mirror at the guard that I talked to; his eyes were clouded over once again. What did that guy have planned? I was careful driving along the road until we reached the pack house. We parked the car, then I got out and hurried over to my mate to open the car door for her. She stepped out, smiling up at me.

“You do know you don't have to do that, right? I can open my own car door.”

“You’ve been saying that for years, baby, and I still open it for you,” she shook her head at me, laughing as we walked over to the steps of the pack house. Alpha Roman and his Luna came out of the house. She didn’t look very happy, and I noticed she was partially away from him, not even touching him. It was like she didn't even want to be here with him at all. They walked downstairs to greet us.

“Alpha Dean, you're finally here. I hope you had a safe trip. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you and your Luna.”

“Yes, yes, it was a safe trip. We didn't run into any trouble. I want to get down to business. I have heard that you have been treating this pack poorly, and from the looks of it, it was all a lie since your guards were highly on guard, and I see the pack members laughing while they hang out with each other. Let’s go inside so we can talk. The girls can have their own chat. I'm sure your Luna has her own office, am I correct?”

What was the problem? They just looked at each other rather than back at me.

“Alpha Dean, I'm not sure what you have been told, but my Luna doesn't have an office. We’ve been so busy training and doing other things than to worry about an office for her,” I noticed that she looked at him in a strange way, then she rolled her eyes. She knew he was lying, and so did I. What is wrong with this man? This whole thing was just an act. I’m going to need to tell the elders.

“Well, since she doesn't have an office, then they can talk anywhere they want, ladies, if you don't mind.” Then we walked into the pack house to have our chat. He's not going to like what I have to say to him one bit.
