Chapter 40
Roman POV
I couldn't wait for this man to leave; he was asking way too many questions, and then his eyes clouded over for just a brief moment. I could have killed him right here, but I didn't want blood on my floor. If I had killed him, then I would have to kill his mate, and we would have too much blood to handle, which I didn't want. I started wondering where Carrie and his mate went. I was only half listening to this man; he was talking a million miles an hour. I thought he was here to negotiate a treaty, but instead, he was here because the elders told him to come check out the pack. So, I had the members come out and act like they were having fun. They were finally gone, and I watched them drive off. I then let out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding. Walking inside, I turned and asked her,
"What did you and Zexy talk about, and where were you? You were told you walked around the pack lands, and I didn't see you."
"First off, it's none of your business where we walk. When did you start caring about where I go? Second, we talked about the pack and how we handled training."
"Did she ask any questions about me? Does she know I rejected my mate and chose you?"
"Dude, everyone knows you rejected Angela and then chose me as your mate. There is no use trying to hide that; everyone already knows. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get these shoes off my feet, then change my clothes."
"I want you to move back into my room," she slowly turned around to look at me. She looked shocked, but then quickly recovered.
"I'm not sure I heard you right. Did you just say you want me to move back into your room? The answer is no. I like how it is right now; I like my time in my own space. Besides, your snore is too loud; I can hear you in my room, and it's just down the hall. Not to mention, you had other females in there. I'd rather not. By the way, I really don't care. And if you're wondering why I'm like this; well, you made me like this. Excuse me; I'm going to MY room to get changed and then relax." She left me standing there with my mouth dropped open. She has never spoken to me like that before. Have I truly lost her? Well, I really didn't care. Did I?
“You fool, we are losing her. If she leaves, then the pack is down. The warrior challenge is just around the corner; you need to win her back, even if it's just for a few months. Be her friend, talk to her, get her back in our bed.”
“You heard what she said, she said no to that.”
“Then do it another way. When she's out training tomorrow, have the omegas take her things into our room. She won’t be able to say no when that happens,” I thought about what my wolf had said.
“Dude, she is going to be pissed when she goes to her room and all her things are gone.”
“She will get over it, she will learn to love it again. She will want us between her legs in no time at all.”
Carrie’s POV
Is he insane, talking like nothing has happened between us, wanting me back in his room? He's nuts, he is psycho. There is no way I am going back in that room. I knew this day was coming; he was going to try to get me back in his room so he could watch me come and go, that's all he wants. It's not going to happen. I had several rooms in this house with clothes in them. I have done this just in case this would happen.
“Yeah, and he is planning on moving your things back into his room tomorrow while you're out training,” that was my wolf, her name is Shey. She hated his guts; she never wanted us to be his mate. She wanted us to wait until we found our mate, but I just wouldn't listen to her. I wanted the power; I wanted all of it. Now all I wanted was to be the best warrior and to knock him off his title. They can choose another alpha; I can be by myself. I can live in the human world and shift to run when I need to. I have it all planned out. Now if my plan will work is a different story.
