Chapter 26Yuuki wasted no time on the ladder and was soon at Ken’s side. “What now?” she whispered as quietly as possible.
“Shh.” Ken placed one finger on her own mouth. They’d talked about hand signals during the drive into Boise. Time to employ them. Taking on an extremely serious expression, Kenna pointed to herself and then to the door that they could see. Then, she raised both hands and displayed six fingers before making two of them “walk” in mid-air. In other words, she wanted to check out the first door, and Yuuki should stay at least six paces behind her.
Yuuki nodded, waiting for her to start moving. She kept the flashlight trained on Kenna.
