But I Love You - Bucky Barnes

Waking up to the person you love each morning was amazing. Having them be the last person you see at night and the first person you see in the morning was perfect.

This morning was different. Bucky was nowhere to be seen. You got out of bed to see if he was in the bathroom but that was empty too.

The only other place he would be is the living room/ kitchen area. You quietly walked out of your room trying not to wake anyone up since it was quite early.

You heard two familiar voices come from the living room. Bucky and Steve.

"I don't think I can do this to her anymore Steve, she deserves better than this." You heard Bucky say, it sounded like he was crying.

"Bucky that girl loves you, you'd break her heart." Steve said softly.

"I'd rather break her heart than kill her." Bucky mumbled. "She's better off without me."

They were talking about you. It made you angry that Bucky went to Steve instead of you to talk about your relationship. Of course Steve is Bucky's best friend but Bucky should be going to you to talk about your relationship.

"You need to tell her Buck." Steve said. Your ears perked up at this. Bucky was keeping a secret from you?

"I can't, I just can't."

"Can't what Bucky?" You asked walking into the room. The colour drained out of both of the men's faces.

"Tell her." Steve said sternly before walking out of the room.

Bucky refused to look at you. He was sat on the sofa with his head in his hands, his long hair covering his face.

"Bucky?" You said crossing your arms.

"It's nothing, just leave it okay." Bucky said standing up to walk out but you stopped him by placing a hand on his chest.

"It obviously isn't nothing."

"Just leave it okay." Bucky said trying to push past you but you didn't let him.

"I can't 'just leave it'. Tell me Bucky."

"I can't be with you anymore okay!" Bucky shouted, scaring you slightly.

"What?" You whispered.

"I'm sick of having the fear that I'm going to hurt you. I keep having the same nightmare over and over again about you. I killed you, you were laying there dead in my hands because of me." Bucky said, tears forming in his eyes.

"We've been together for two years now and you haven't hurt me once." You argued.

"That doesn't mean it won't happen. Y/N, I can't be with you anymore." Bucky whispered.

"But I love you." The tears were flowing down your face.

"And I love you, that's why I'm doing this." Bucky still refused to look at you.

Bucky was stubborn and so were you. You were very angry at the fact that after two years Bucky decides he doesn't want to be with you anymore.

"Fine." You shouted at Bucky, shocking him slightly. He stood there, too shocked to move.

The next thing Bucky saw broke him. You had your bags packed and you were leaving.

"I've lost her." Bucky mumbled.
