Looking at the sight in front of you made you wonder you were doing this, why you were destroying innocent lives. There were people screaming and running away from the fires and the buildings crashing to the ground.
What good could possibly come from this? He said this was going to save the world but in actual fact it was doing the complete opposite.
A child hiding behind a car caught your attention. The little boy was cradling his arm whilst he looked around for the men dressed in all black carrying guns. It broke your heart.
"I can't do this anymore." You said to the man you craved power. "This isn't going to help anyone."
"What are you talking about, this is going to save the world." He smiled.
"How, please tell me how because right now all I see is lives being ruined, innocent lives might I add." You shouted at him, not caring that he could kill you in an instant.
"I told you this wouldn't be easy, I told you that you would have to see the bad before you can see the good. This, this is the bad sweetheart." He laughed evilly.
"I'm not doing this, those people do not deserve this." And with that you ran off into the chaos hoping to help in any way possible.
You went straight to the boy. As you got a closer to him you noticed he was covered in blood, bruises already appearing on his skin. He couldn't have been older than six years old. Tears were streaming down his face.
"I'm gonna get you out of here okay, I'm going to find some place to keep you safe." You told the boy, kneeling down in front of him. "Do you know where your parents or family are?"
"The men in the black clothes with guns killed them." He sobbed.
The tears sprung to your eyes when you heard this. This boy was left an orphan because of you. You did this.
"Come here, I'm going to keep you safe. What's your name?" You asked picking him up.
"Ethan." He said trying to calm himself down.
"Ethan, I'll keep you safe." You promised.
Trying to find somewhere safe for Ethan proved very difficult. Everywhere you went there was someone trying to kill you.
"Look!" Ethan said pointing to the sky. You turned around and looking up to the sky. Iron Man, Iron Man was flying above you.
Your legs trembled. This wasn't your first encounter with the Avengers. The first time you met them was when you were in the Avengers tower trying to steal information. The Winter Solider had caught you and obviously it resulted in the two of you trying to kill the other.
Captain America had stopped the fight seeing that The Winter Soldier was loosing, surprisingly. The team locked you up, obviously, but you managed to leave the cell they kept you in without anyone noticing for two hours.
You knew that the Avengers could help Ethan but you also knew that they wouldn't trust you. You had to find them so they could help Ethan. Regardless of what they thought of you, you knew they would do everything in their power to help him.
"Ethan, I need you to listen to me." You said placing the little boy on the ground, tears still falling from his eyes. "I'm going to find the Avengers so they can help you. You need to know that they think I am a bad person okay but I promise you I'm not okay."
Ethan was confused as to why you were saying this stuff to him but he was happy that he was going to be safe. What he didn't know was that you felt like it was your duty to look after Ethan now that his parents were gone, especially since it was your fault.
You ran around trying to find any one of the Avengers, easily dodging bullets and anything that came in your way.
Your heart stopped as you saw two of the Avengers. Of course it had to be the pair that hated you the most. Captain America and The Winter Soldier.
The pair were helping a family get out of a car that had be flipped over.
Captain America saw you first, instantly raising his shield. The Winter Soldier saw you next, clenching his fist and storming towards you.
"You, you caused all of this!" The Winter Soldier shouted at you.
"I know I did but please believe me when I say I don't want to live that life anymore, I don't want see people hurt." You begged even though you knew it was pointless.
"Who's the boy?" Captain America asked.
"His name is Ethan and regardless of what you think of me please help him. He's lost is family and needs medical attention." You said handing Ethan over to Captain America.
Captain America took Ethan from you and rushed him over to an ambulance.
"You know it's your fault that he lost his parents. His going to grow up with no family because of you." As The Winter Soldier ranted about how you caused all of this devastation you saw three of the men dressed in black behind him.
You pushed The Winter Solider out of the way and took out the three men with hardly any effort.
"Believe it or not I'm on your side." You turned around to seeing The Winter Soldier still on the ground.
"You expect me to believe you just because of that." He said pointing to the three men laying on the ground.
"I know your story, I know how you were forced to do things you shouldn't have. I was forced into this, he told me that this was the future, that this was going to change the world. I was young when he took me, he kept me locked away and never let me leave the building. He put it into my head that this was the right thing to do but when I was stood up there watching people, innocent people get hurt I knew it wasn't right." You shouted at him.
All the anger left The Winter Soldiers body. You were telling the truth and he knew it, he could see it in your eyes.
"Make all of this stop." He simply said to you before rushing off the help the others.
Then it clicked, you knew how to stop this.
"Wait!" You shouted to him. "I need someone to get me to the top of that building."
"Why?"
"The thing that controls all of these robots is up there. I have no idea what it is but I do know that once it is destroyed all of this will stop."
The Winter Soldier grabbed your arm and dragged you away.
"Tony." He said grabbing the attention of the famous Iron Man.
Tony obviously recognised you as he went to shoot you but luckily The Winter Soldier stopped him.
"She can help, all you need to do is get her to the top of that building and this will stop."
"Not a chance, we can't trust her." Tony said walking off.
"Wait." You said running after him. "I don't expect you to trust me, I mean how could you. But listen to me when I say once the thing on top of that building is destroyed this will stop and of I'm wrong feel free to kill me."
"Fine."
Tony flew up to the building and silently prayed it would worked.
You spotted Ethan in an ambulance and you quickly rushed over to him.
"Is he going to be okay?" You asked a nurse.
"He will be." The nurse nodded before walking off to help more injured patients.
Looking around you saw The Avengers effortlessly fight off all of the men dressed in black.
What was going to happen after this? Where would Ethan go? Where would you go?
The men dressed in black suddenly dropping to the floor brought you out of your thought.
"I guess you were telling the truth." The Winter Soldier said walking up to you.
" I mean it when I say I don't want to live that life anymore." You said sitting on the pavement.
"It's going to take a lot for them to trust you but for what it's worth I belong you." He said sitting next to you.
"I'm Y/N" You said telling him your real name instead of the one most people called you.
"Bucky." He nodded.
"I'm sorry for punching you in the face." You apologised.
"Sorry for pulling your hair."
