30 We Cheat Marcus strode into the training ring, James and Matthew in his wake. He nearly let a bark of laughter escape as the general guards lazing around the edges of the yard hastily moved out of their way. It wasn’t typical for the Elite, let alone the Fourth’s Elite, to attend the general training sessions, especially not on one of the open days where they tested new aspiring entrants to the King’s Guard. Still, Prince William had given them the task of expanding the ranks of the gifted within the Fourth’s Elite.
