In keeping with her role as a double agent, Emma advised Cal of her new assignment in private, although not within the confines of his cluttered home, or her sparsely-furnished ninth-floor abode. Together, they decided that pillow talk would comprise material suitable for replication, snippets of misleading information given at irregular intervals to satisfy Colin’s superiors in the espionage game. Apart from repeating bedroom conversations, Emma would also report suspicious behaviour such as calls overheard when she made her way to Cal’s bathroom in the middle of the night.
The other CV committee members would remain in ignorance to ensure Emma’s assignment proceeded without interference, and to protect them from genuine surveillance should the group’s existence become known
