For centuries, the Kingdom of Amandi thrived under the watchful eye of the Oracle of Dawn, a mysterious woman gifted with the power of prophecy. Kings would seek her counsel before making crucial decisions, and the people placed their trust in her visions to shape their futures. Then, one fateful morning, the Oracle disappeared without a trace. In the weeks that followed, the kingdom faced a series of strange misfortunes. Crops shriveled in the fields, rivers dwindled to mere trickles, and a wave of fear swept through the populace. Whispers of dark magic, betrayal, and long-buried secrets from the kingdom's past began to spread. Amara, a seventeen-year-old girl and the daughter of a disgraced royal guard, never thought she would find herself entangled in this mystery. But when she stumbles upon a clue connected to the Oracle's vanishing, she is pulled into a perilous quest. Determined to uncover the truth and save her kingdom, Amara sets off on a journey filled with ancient secrets, formidable foes, and unexpected allies. The Vanishing
As the first rays of sunlight broke over the Kingdom of Amandi, thousands of people gathered in the Grand Courtyard of the Temple of Dawn. It was the day of the Sacred Blessing, a special ceremony held once a year to honor peace and prosperity throughout the kingdom. Colorful banners danced in the morning breeze, while priests clad in white robes stood in neat rows beside the temple steps. Merchants, farmers, soldiers, and noble families filled the courtyard, all eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Oracle of Dawn. Among the crowd was seventeen-year-old Amara. She pulled the hood of her cloak a little tighter and gazed toward the temple entrance, just like everyone else, filled with curiosity about the Oracle's prophecy for the year ahead. Then, a sudden hush fell over the crowd. The temple doors creaked open. Out stepped the Oracle. She was draped in a flowing golden robe adorned with silver symbols that sparkled in the sunlight. A crystal staff rested in her hand, and her calm eyes seemed to hold secrets from another realm. The people bowed their heads in respect. The Oracle lifted her staff. "My children," she spoke softly, her voice echoing across the courtyard. "A shadow looms over our kingdom. The road ahead is shrouded, and the future quakes." Nervous glances were exchanged among the crowd. Such warnings were uncommon. Even the king, perched on his throne beside the temple, leaned forward with unease. The Oracle closed her eyes, as if tuning into a distant whisper. Suddenly, the crystal atop her staff began to glow. Brighter. And brighter still. A strange wind swept through the courtyard. Dark clouds began to gather overhead. The ground shook beneath everyone’s feet. Gasps rippled through the crowd. The Oracle's eyes snapped open. For the first time, fear flickered across her face. "No..." she murmured. A blinding flash of light erupted from the crystal. The crowd screamed, shielding their eyes from the brilliance. For several heartbeats, no one could see. Then, just like that, the light faded. The wind died down. Silence enveloped the courtyard. Slowly, the people lowered their hands, unsure of what had just transpired. The Oracle had vanished. All that remained was her crystal staff, lying abandoned on the cold stone floor. The king, stunned, rose to his feet. "The Oracle!" he exclaimed, his voice filled with urgency. "Where is she?" Priests hurried forward, while guards scoured every inch of the courtyard. But she was nowhere to be found. It was as if she had simply evaporated into thin air. A wave of fear rippled through the crowd, and whispers began to circulate. Has she been taken? Was dark magic at play? Or had the Oracle foreseen something so dreadful that she chose to disappear? As panic set in among the people, Amara's eyes caught something unusual near the fallen staff. A small piece of parchment was tucked away beneath it, unnoticed by everyone else. Her heart raced as she instinctively stepped forward and slipped the parchment into her pocket. Little did she know, that single piece of paper would lead her into the most profound mystery the Kingdom of Amandi had ever faced. The search for the missing Oracle was only just beginning.
