(Isolde's POV)
I woke up feeling wrong.
Not sick exactly, just that crawling, restless heat under my skin that I'd learned to recognize over the past few months.
I shook out a suppressant pill and swallowed it before I even got out of bed.
Then I waited.
It took longer than usual to settle. By the time I felt steady enough to move, I was already running late.
I threw on my cream-colored fitted suit, dragged my hair down over my shoulders, and ran.
I made it to the building lobby with maybe three minutes to spare.
The nearest elevator was already open, doors waiting.
I sprinted for it.
