Samantha**
"Come in." I said after maintaining composure.
I repeat no one, absolutely no one can catch me in a state of bewilderment and I'm saying that proudly.
Never to be caught unfresh if Unfresh is an actual word.
It's none of my business.
"Good day Miss Samantha." He greeted whilst standing and that jolted me out of my thoughts.
I just realized that I had spaced out, what's wrong with me today.
Effect if meeting Alexander Sterling, my inner mind told me and I smiled passively.
"Good day Ethan, please do have your seat." I ushered before he finally took his seat.
Wow, what respect Ethan has. It was quite professional for him not to take his seat before I invited him, I'm guessing Alexander trained his staffs well.
Well, Ethan was a great example. I'm sure if it were one of Delmore's staffs, they woidk straightway sit on my table.
Dang it! I don't want to even think of that treacherous man that felt anyone should bend to his will.
What did he think he is? Some kind of lord?
And the way Alexander backed me up, gosh I'm on cloud nine.
"What brings you to my office?." I questioned . That was the question that had been storming in my head since he confirmed who he was at the door.
"Well, Mr Sterling would like to see you at the cafeteria during lunch time and that's if you've not had your lunch already." He stated and it took all will power for me to not start blushing.
"Okay... Send my message across to him that I'll meet him there." I enunciated and Ethan smiled before saying his farewells and exited the room.
What the actual f**k!!!
Alexander Sterling was asking me out.
Okay calm down Samantha, it's just lunch not asking you out.
Whatever, we were going to have lunch together on the same table. The only difference would be the different plates.
Thank goodness I obeyed my instincts that asked me to hide my lunch in my drawer else Ethan would have assumed I already had lunch and that would be how I missed this golden opportunity.
Never in my entire life. And it just had to be today that I would dress like the devil's incarnate. I wasn't even looking colorful or girlie. Damn it!
Now it seemed like I'm forgetting something...... Ava!!
I slid my phone out of pockets and dial Ava's number and she picked up on the first ring.
"Were you expecting my call?." I asked as her line came through and she chuckled before replying.
"No, I was only scrolling through my phone and then your call entered." She explained snd I sighed.
"Well, guess what?." I screeched as excitement overwhelmed me again.
"What's up with the over excited voice? Did you win a lottery ticket pineapple?." Ava asked, calling me those fruit names she usually called me whenever she wanted to get the truth out of me.
"The pineapple wasn't needed and there's no lottery in the company. " I said with a smug look on my face.
" Well spill whatever it is already!. " She commanded with an excited tone.
Guess who's getting more and more excited without even hearing the actual news.
"You remember Alexander Sterling right?." I asked hoping she would remember.
She had to remember because I talked of Alexander most of the time non stop.
"Yes I do. That tycoon tech that you wouldn't stop ranting about your entire life." Ava said with sarcasm dripping in the tone of her voice.
"Great! You remember clearly. He just asked me out for lunch." I broke the news and just as expected Ava screeched and screamed like a voodoo doll.
Wait a minute, does a voodoo doll scream and screech.
That's none of my business!
"So what's next? Hope you're dressed well? Do you have your makeup box with you? Gosh, my brain is literally doing a dance right now." Ava stated and almost at the same time she paused talking, the bell for lunch started ringing.
"Okay Ava, I have to go now. I'll update you later on how it went. " I commented and ended the call.
" Okay bye. " She answered before the line went dead.
I straightened my shirt and put on my self confidence which was always in check —i hope it doesn't betray me this time— then I stormed out of the office heading to the cafeteria.
On getting to the cafeteria, the first place my eyes set on by coincidence was where Alexander Sterling was seated with his personal assistant standing beside him.
He flashed me a bright and warm smile that made my heart flutter and those foreign feelings that came from the abyss overwhelmed me.
It's not the time to act all coy and stupid Samantha!
I walked over with poise towards their table and he brought out his hand for a handshake.
His eyes, a piercing shade of blue, lock onto mine, his voice dripping with authority as he said:
"Thanks for honouring my invitation, Miss Loomis." He said and our eyes remained locked for a few seconds before he gestured for me to take my seat.
I took the seat and he passed the menu offer to me.
"I don't even know what I would like to eat." I said and chuckled just to ease the tension and the chuckle I received from him was a positive one.
Well, Alexander was as confused as I was on settling on what meal he would have so at the end we ended up ordering Eggs and Bacon which wasn't exactly the nicest food to order well kudos to two confused set of people.
We finished our meal that was complimented with a cup of coffee and we splited ways but not before Alexander too my private number and gave me his private call line.
And the best thing was the one he talked about during the meal.
"Samantha, I would love
to create alliance with your company in a new project I'm working on that I'm hoping to launch by October
