CHAPTER THREE: Re-introduction

Clarice's POV My past life was uneventful, but I bet this new life will be fun! Anderson pulled a seat for me to sit, then he sat beside me and took my hand in his. All this time, Jeffrey could not take his eyes off me. I smirked. He can no longer take his eyes off me. The girl he called old and dry. My eyes shifted to Amelia, she sat there looking so innocent like she didn't steal my husband from me with her treacherousness. Anderson cleared his throat and spoke up, “Jeffery, this is Clarice. She's my beloved fiancee and we'll be getting married soon.” He flinched. “Nice to meet you, Jeffery,” I said, not giving him a chance to recover. “Nice to meet you. I'm his son.” “I know,” I replied. He followed my eyes and saw me looking at Amelia. She smiled awkwardly. Putting on an act like she did when Jeffrey employed her; she acted so naive and humble until she was able to lure him into her p***y. Sly b***h! “Oh. She's my secretary.” I ignored his answer. “Where's your wife?” “I'm not yet married.” “No fiancee?” “I have a fiancee, but she travelled.” “I see. I'd love to meet her.” He has a fiancee. Whoever it is, I have to save her from this bastard before she ends up like me, but how do I do that when I have less than a month to make it happen. The only way to save his fiancee and get my revenge is by making Amelia and Jeffrey get married to each other. The first time I met Anderson in my past life, I doubted the relationship between both of them. Anderson looked young, possibly in his late forties, but when I tried to ask Jeffrey about it he shut me up and we never talked about it. Laying on his lap in the hotel room, I asked, “Don't you think Amelia and Jeffrey would make a good couple?” Anderson grunted, “Why do you say so? He's engaged.” I sat up. “The way they look at each other. I can tell something is going on between them.” “I doubt. Jeffery loves his fiancee, but I'll look into it.” “Don't bother, darling. You have a lot to take care of.” He smiled and leaned on to kiss me. While Anderson was on a zoom meeting with the board of directors overseas, I told him I'd go out for a walk to clear my head. “Watch out!” The warning was too late because we bumped into each other already. “I'm sorry. It's my fault for focusing on my phone while walking,” I apologized. “Oh, no! It's mine. I should have been careful…” My eyes lit up. It was the lady at the mall the other day. Her eyes lit up as well. “It's you! The lady from the mall!” She said giggling and clapping excitedly. She looked all pretty and nice. “Do you live around here?” I asked, looking to confirm if I'd see any residential buildings around here. “For now, yes.” We took a seat by the park. I handed her my water to drink from. My eyes scanned her fingers for any ring, there wasn't. That means she's not married. Does it mean she's staying with her parents? “You stay in the hotel?” I asked her. “Yes!” “Me too!” “We've not bumped into each other before now, I guess it must be fate!” She was bubbly, and I like her already. “I guess. Who are you staying with?” Her smile dropped. She hesitated to respond, so I went along. “I'm staying with my fiance.” “I ran away from my fiance.” My eyes widened in shock. Her once bubbly energy was replaced with sadness. “Come on, let's get some snacks,” I said, trying to divert her attention. We got snacks, ate, talked, and joked about each other. “My name is Clarice. You?” “My name is Melissa.” “It was fun with you,” I said, hugging her. “I had fun for the first time in a long time, thanks to you.” I smiled, “It's my happiness to see you smile.” “Let's meet again when you're free.” “Sure.” When we got to the hotel, I met my driver outside. Melissa excused herself and returned to her room. The driver gave me photos of Jeffrey and Amelia in a hotel room. Typical Jeffery. Anderson was at the door when I entered the room, he pulled me in and hugged me tightly. His scent was soothing, I relaxed in his arms. Jeffery took my love for him for granted and here I am with his father. “I missed you!” I giggled. “But you were in a meeting.” He growled. “Just say you missed me too,” he said and carried my up bridal style to the bed. “I didn't, obviously. I met someone and we had fun.” Anderson groaned. His eyes darkened with desire and jealousy, he placed me gently on the bed and started kissing me all over my body, teasing me. “Tell me about this person you met.” “She's a bubbly and pretty girl. I met her for the first time at the mall, and just found out that she's staying in this hotel.” “Ahh. Interesting!” “Yeah. We should have dinner together, to get to know each other.” “Anything to please you, my lady.” Anderson pulled me in and fell asleep the moment we were done making out with each other. Something Jeffrey never did no matter how much he tumbled me in bed to satisfy himself. My eyes caught Melissa standing a few steps ahead, probably looking for where to seat. “She's here,” I whispered to Anderson. “Who's here?” “The girl. The person I told you about last night.” “Oh. Tell her to join us for breakfast then.” I squealed in excitement while gesticulating at her to join us. She hurried a little hurried steps to where we were sitting, then stopped abruptly when she saw Anderson. Their eyes met and the shock on their faces made my stomach sink. “What…”
