Against All Odds

INTRODUCTION

The sun's ray is peeping in her window. She is wide awake but her mind is shut for good. Everything seems right not until yesterday's event. Just the thought of it made her heart clench again. She has a work today so she is forced to get off the bed. Losing two most important people at the same time yesterday is chaotic enough, the last thing she want is to lose her job.

She got in the shower and let her self be numb with the ice cold water. She managed to drag herself to her closet and chose a decent outfit. A white crisp button down shirt with her usual black slacks and black pumps suit her very well. She puts on a little more make up than usual because she don't want her students to notice that she had an sleepless night.

 She went to her kitchen and made herself a coffee. When she felt that she's ready to fool the world she stepped in her car and went to the University where she works as a professor.

At the age 21 she managed to be one of the highest paid professors in this prestigious university. She can say that she have it all but she can't. This is what she dreamed of but she's not satisfied. She wants more. 

Students greeted her when she got off the car. She smiled to everyone like she did not cry last night. She went to the faculty office to log in.

"Isla(Ayla), you're late!" her colleague said amused because she never goes to school late.

"Yeah, I had a long night."she just said while preparing her things for her first class.

"Of course!  Happy Belated Birthday!" was her parting message and now she's alone in the room. 

Now, it doomed her. She forgot her birthday because she was so caught up on proving that her boyfriend is cheating with her bestfriend/step sister. GREAT!
