-Bella- I didn’t accept Mary’s offer to take me home or to stay with them. I couldn’t. Not with my mother in that state, reminding me of everything we had lost. What we both had lost and what I was desperate to recover, but all I had was a necklace in my pocket. That was it, and anyone could have dropped it—anyone. My father had the largest pack.
