The Confused One

Episode 20

I walked towards my chair which my brother sat on but he quickly got up and stood behind the chair on one side and Lucas on the other to show that I’m in charge.

Before I sat down Mr King stood up of his chair as a sign of respect, and both the men to his sides nodded, I’m not a ure what their names are but one is certainly the second in command and the other is third, they are both standing behind Mr Kings chair.

“Yes I am aware that we don’t have an alliance but if you are willing to help me now it’s most certain that I will propose an alliance which would benefit both gangs.” Mr King said and I nodded but didn’t say anything as I’m done playing the waiting game.

“As the word obviously got around I have a son, and heir to my throne, he is 3 and up till a couple of months ago no one knew about his existence, I’m still not sure how the word got out but it did, and now my son has a 5.5 million bounty on his head.” Mr King said getting more and more annoyed, hell even I’m annoyed how dare someone put a bounty on such a young child.

I tried to keep my emotions stable so they couldn’t see how much I want to agree.

“What are the rules of the bounty?” I asked the rules of the bounty sometimes help figure out why and who’s behind the bounty.

“Dead or alive, they don’t care as long as the body is took back.” He said, I could see his hands turning into fists.

“Suspects?” I asked, I need to now if helping him won’t bring me war with anyone especially my current alliances.

“Non at the moment, we hadn’t had problems in months everything has been pretty peaceful.” He said.

“Insider?” I asked.

“That’s what we are thinking but we are not sure who it is and that’s the reason we are here and this is where my plan starts.” He said.

“I need somewhere for my wife and son to stay, they can’t stay at at alliance gang as that’s easily guessed and they can’t stay where they are in case of it being an insider, I can’t take them to any random bastards gang as one they wouldn’t be strong enough to protect them and two they are all greedy bastards.” He said.

“So you want them to stay here.” I concluded.

“Yes.” He replied.

“What makes you think I’m trust worthy?” I asked.

“I have no reason other than the fact that we have never had any problems and that you are my safest bet.” He said after a long stressed breath.

After thinking in my head quickly I made the decision in helping them, any other agreement would have took longer but I know when there’s a bounty involved we have to work fast.

As soon as they left I was left alone with Charlie, as Lucas is the second in command and he went to escort The kings out.

We stayed in silence for at least 10 minutes until I decided to speak up.

“You didn’t visit me in the hospital.” I said and he looked at me unamused.

“Your baby’s dad kept you company.” He said being petty.

“Charlie, I don’t know what to do okay. Yes we did go behind your back and I understand why you are annoyed but you have to forgive me, I need you okay, I need my brother.” I said feeling tears filling my eyes.

“Charlotte, I’m sorry but I just need more time to get my head around it okay.” He said and with that he left my office.

When Lucas came back he rushed to my side finding me curled up crying.

It doesn’t matter how strong I can be normally, right now i feel as if I’m losing my twin and i don’t know what I’m supposed to do to fix it.

It didn’t take long for The Kings to get back and when they did I had to change my appearance back to professional and not my I’m falling apart one.

I made my way to the warehouses front entrance and greet my visitors.

I was met with an elegant woman who was casually dressed and Mr King behind her holding a sleeping toddler.

“Mr, Mrs King and King Júnior welcome, we have a room set up.” I said and directed them up to their room.

As soon as Mrs King was settled with her son in their room, she said goodbye to her husband and he made his way out.

I was about to leave too and allow them to rest when she threw her arms around me giving me a tight hug.

“Thank you so much for everything, you don’t realise how thankful I am for this.” She said, I gave a comforting smile and promised to be back later after they rested.
