CHAPTER 2

Ann arrived at the ball party, she admired the venue, there were lots of rich people. As she approached the entrance ,a security guard asked for her invitation card. She opened her bag, it wasn't there. Then she realized she had forgotten to bring it..she didn't know what else to do.. she then spotted Liam ,she devised a plan to follow him inside. Initially, Ann didn't know who Liam was, but she approached him and discreetly bumped into him, causing his invitation card to fall to the floor. Liam looked at her with a straight face.

"I'm sorry" she apologized and picked up the card. "Your..your invitation letter dropped" she smiled at him.However, Liam remained silent, staring at her and looked away. He tries to walk away,

"wait a second" Ann said, "your bow tie is a bit crooked" she said as she adjust it .Liam looked at her

"Sorry" she said and stepped back..as Liam was walking..she followed behind him making the security guards think they came together, then she succeeded to outsmart them.

When she got inside ,she found Alex with a guest..she walked up to him.

Alex is a billionaire and a talented fashion designer.

"Hello, Mr Alex " Alex turned, smiled back lightly

"Hello" he looked at her dress, "your dress looks nice, who designed it?" He asked . She chuckled softly, "thank you" she said.

"I designed it myself, " she smiled. Alex looked at her amazed , "we're both designers,then " he responded with a smile

"No,not really, I'm just a new designer, " he said, staring at him.

"I'm Ann Madison" Ann said..she takes a look at his tie. "Isn't it a jump button for its 50th anniversary? Ann asked looking at his tie "you recognized it," Alex said smiling, "you're the first one to notice my special design tonight "

"I am?" She asked, he nodded, " I think it's easy to recognize it, and your sleeve buttons, aren't they the limited edition for jump's 50th anniversary?" she asked. Alex looked at his sleeve, he chuckled and replied,

" Right, you observe so carefully,many people only deserve the surface part. I didn't expect you to know so much about design styles, that's rare " he said smiling at her. Ann chuckled, her head down , "I'm kind of showing up in front of you" she said.

" After I give a speech, may I have a word with you ?" Ann eyes wide and happily replied, " you want it? That'll be my honor"

And they cheered .

They were still talking when the security man walked up to them and asked her for her invitation card , she told them it's with her partner, they ask her who her partner is, she couldn't answer..so they took her in for questioning..

"You're not on our guest list, you can't tell who invited you to the party, either. If you still don't confess, we have no choice, but to call the police ". the head of the security guard told her. Ann gasped,

" Give me five minutes, I'll make a call," she told the security guard. The man left the office, Ann was scared, she tried to call Xoxo when Liam walked in, she looked up, she was wondering what he was doing. Liam sat down opposite her.

" I guess you need my help now," he said. Ann dropped her phone and bit her lips, "it's you? She asked, staring at him, he stared back. " You're not too stupid. " He said smiling, Ann scoffed. "So you knew I followed you into the party,but now you're here, instead of exposing me."she leaned to the desk and smiled

"It means you need my help, too, don't you? Liam took a deep breath, "let me introduce myself, I'm Liam Hemsworth "

"I'm Ann Madison " she folded her arms and kept a straight face.

"Hello , miss Ann Madison" Liam smiled

"Get to the point, what do you want from me?"She said, looking away .

"I need a girl who Alex appreciates to be my partner .

" That's all? She asked surprisedly . " You earned the appreciation from Alex just now. Ann chuckled, "so you deliberately told me that Alex was an anime fan"

"Cooperate with me, and I won't sell you out."

Ann chuckled and looked at him, "shame on you" she said and smiled.

The security man comes in, he asks Ann if she's ready to confess, Ann couldn't respond.

" Miss Ann Madison, will you help me? Liam asked, folding his arms.

"Mm" as she closed her eyes and nodded . Liam stood up, and walked to the security guard.

" Thanks for your responsibility, but your behaviors have annoyed me" he said to the security guard, he turned towards Ann, "let's go".

Ann stood up, as they were about to leave, "wait" Liam said, "hold my arms" he stretched his arm towards her, Ann scoffed and tried to fake out a smile, she held his arm while walking to the party.

Suddenly Liam stopped, he turned to Ann, Ann was startled, she stepped back to the wall. "What..what do you want? She asked, looking scared . He gazed at her, "you need something," he replied. She sharply gasped and looked at him . Liam opened a jewelry box and brought out a silver necklace. "Head down" he told her, she did and he wore her the necklace, he raised her hair up as he adjusted the necklace .

"What's this?"she asked, "you don't need to know ." He walked away, She looked at him surprisedly and followed him into the main hall of the party.

Liam walks up to Alex, "Mr Alex" he called out , Alex turned and saw Ann with Liam, he chuckled in surprise..

" Miss Madison turns out to be your partner Mr liam. No wonder she didn't want to confess, I didn't see you tonight. I thought you hadn't come. " Alex said to Liam .

"How come?" Liam asked, "our mall expects to cooperate with you, Mr Alex . I'd certainly come to your party. .

Alex suddenly saw the necklace, he gasped softly. "Miss Madison, why do you have this necklace?He asked, still staring at it.

"I gave it to her, last year in Spain", Liam sharply cut in, Ann turned to look at Liam, then back to Alex, she smiled and nodded in agreement. "I saw it at the auction" Liam continued ,"when I caught sight of it, I thought it was perfect for Ann, then I bought it for her".

"Miss Ann, I didn't know, you had the necklace" Alex said, smiling at Ann .

"Anything special about it? Ann asked, she was eager to know.
