Sophia sat in the back seat of her car, her fingers gripping her phone tightly.
Her mind replayed the scene from dinner again and again.
Alexander defending Naomi.
The way he had said, “She is my wife.”
Sophia’s jaw tightened.
“That girl has no place beside him,” she muttered angrily.
The driver glanced at her through the mirror but quickly looked away.
Sophia stared out of the car window as the city lights passed by.
For years, everyone believed she would become Mrs. Alexander King.
Their engagement had been the perfect match between two powerful families.
And then suddenly…
Alexander married a nobody.
A waitress.
Sophia clenched her fists.
“This isn’t over,” she whispered.
Her phone buzzed.
It was a message from a friend who worked in the media.
Sophia’s lips slowly curved into a small smile.
An idea began forming in her mind.
If Alexander wanted to marry someone from the bottom of society…
Then the entire city would find out exactly who Naomi really was.
Sophia quickly typed a reply.
“I have a story for you,” she wrote.
“About Alexander King’s new wife.”
Meanwhile, at the mansion, Naomi was fast asleep in her room.
She had no idea that someone was already planning to destroy her reputation.
The next morning, Naomi woke up to the sound of her phone ringing.
She answered sleepily.
“Hello?”
Her best friend Lily sounded panicked on the other end.
“Naomi! Turn on the news right now!”
Naomi frowned in confusion.
“What happened?”
“You’re everywhere!” Lily said urgently.
Naomi quickly grabbed the television remote and turned it on.
A headline immediately appeared on the screen.
“Alexander King’s Secret Wife Revealed – Former Waitress Marries Billionaire.”
Her heart dropped.
The screen showed pictures of her old workplace.
Photos of her serving tables.
Reporters were already talking about her background.
Naomi felt her hands start shaking.
“How did they get this information?” she whispered.
Just then, a calm voice spoke behind her.
“I was wondering when that would happen.”
Naomi turned quickly.
Alexander stood in the doorway, completely calm.
Unlike her, he didn’t look surprised at all.
“Does this happen often?” Naomi asked nervously.
Alexander walked into the room slowly.
“When you marry someone like me,” he said quietly, “your life becomes public.”
Naomi looked at the television again.
Reporters were already questioning her motives.
Some even called her a gold digger.
Her chest tightened.
“This is terrible,” she whispered.
Alexander’s eyes became colder as he watched the screen.
“Someone wanted to embarrass you,” he said.
Naomi slowly turned toward him.
“Do you know who?”
Alexander didn’t hesitate.
“Sophia.”
The room became silent.
Naomi realized something frightening.
Sophia wasn’t just jealous.
She was going to make Naomi’s life a nightmare.
And this was only the beginning.
