Chapter 17 Getting Everyone Together

Ember's POV

My eyes flutter open taking in the morning light as they slowly adjust. I take a look around my place, stretching as I see Ronan isn't underneath me like when I fell asleep.. Something doesn't feel right about that realization.. I take a look around the room suspiciously for any clues as I see all of Ronan's clothes are not on the floor as if he was never even here last night but I know it wasn't just a wonderful dream.. was it?

I feel up to my shoulder and trace my finger over his mark that he left on me and now I definitely know it wasn't just a wonderful dream. I keep looking around the room as I put on a shirt and shorts looking at every last detail in the room for something to indicate where he is.

Once I pull up my shorts I see a peice of folded paper in the door way wedged between the floor and the bottom of the door.. You can tell it was slipped right under. I walk over, bending down and grabbing the paper. It's typed... um where would he have got the printer and computer to type this at night? This is weird already. So I glance around the room once more before I read the note.

My dearest,

I have to say goodbye because I need to take my rightful place as king. I'm sorry but I have come to find out that you're not what I want anymore and I need to move on to better things. Move on and live a happy life without me.

OK this is so faked and I can see right through it but by who.. there are a couple of suspects because he has never once called me his dearest and he told me so many times that he doesn't want to take the roll of king without me.. and his place is by me.. I can tell just by the wording and explanation that this is definitely not him.. Who ever did this is new for sure. But that now worries me to where my Ronan is at? Yes I said it MY Ronan.. we committed ourselves to each other forever last night and it's going to stay that way.

What should I do? I should do find Brendan and Nikki and I bet they would be able to tell me what I can do to help him.. maybe they would have ideas on how to get hold of Roary and Sean too to help me out.. hopefully.

I run over to my closet and grab a matching bra bra thong set, then an off the shoulder green sweater with my black jeans that have rips in them along with my knee high boots. I throw my hair into a side braid and some light make up as I run out the door locking it behind me. There is a gleam on the ground in the grass right by my stairs.. that catches my eye as I bend back down to the ground and pick it up.. it's a syringe.. I bet this is how they made Ronan come quietly. I need to get to the bar now.

I pick up my phone dialing Nikki's number and putting it to my ear.

"Hello Ember what's going on?" She asks answering the call right away, because we don't call each other often.

"Something has happened to Ronan I need to meet up with Brendan.. Do you know where he is?" I ask her with panic in every word in my voice.

"Hold on he is right here." She says to me as I hear muffled talking back and forth as you can tell the phone is being passed from Nikki to Brendan.

"What's happened to Ro?!" Brendan ask with just as much panic in his voice.m as I have.

"He came over last night and now he is gone but I found some things I have to show you.. can you get his friends and meet me at the bar?? Now?!" I ask with haste in my voice as I flip my leg over my bike so I'm sitting on top of it awaiting his answer.

"Ok I'll do it now meet you there Ember." He says hanging up the call as I turn on the motorcycle. But I see Shannon running out to me so I stop and wait for her to get here.

"Ember wait!" She yells as she gets closer to me and hesitantly adds. " I don't know exactly what I saw last night.. and it might sound crazy, I was out of it with it being so late at night.. but I think I know what I saw.. I saw wolves subdue and run off with your new boyfriend.. I think.. I was out if it and woke up in the middle of the night and saw something run past my window so I looked out but it was only for a little bit.. but I say wolves surround the place and your boyfriend walked out in his underwear so I was very intrigued of course and next thing I know he is falling to the ground with something sticking out if his neck and arm.. maybe a syringe but I could only see a small glimmer of a reflection from the moonlight off of it. So I really don't know but then those same wolves came out of the shadows and collected him up and ran off. I know I sound delusional and I kept thinking I was until I woke up and I saw some paw prints in the dirt showing me that I'm not completely crazy. But it happened so fast I was thinking I was crazy for sure."

I nod at her thinking about everything she said to me. "I don't think you're crazy Shannon and thank you for your very important information that helps.. I know it might not seem like it helps but it does.. I don't know what will happen to me through all this.. but just in case I want to say thank you for everything you have done for me in my time of need and it will never be forgotten.. thank you." I say giving her a hug and leaning down over my bike as I zip off down the driveway, aeay from their place and headed to the bar.

I get there in no time at all because the speed limit means nothing to me not unlike other motorcyclists that I know. I pull up and Nikki is with the guys unlocking the bars front doors, as I quickly walk past them all. "Please follow me I have to discuss something with you all." I say sitting down on the table in the middle of the bar as the guys don't argue just quickly following me sitting around me awaiting what I have to explain to them.

"Thank you for meeting me." I say as I add, "So last night.. um Ro and I committed ourselves to each other and I let him mark me and we were planning on running away together today.." I pull my sweater to the side showing my mark so they know I'm not just making this up before I continue. "But when I woke up all of his clothes and items were gone as if he was never there at all. There was also a note that was left under my door." I say sliding the note across the table to the guys. They look confused as they grab the note and read it to themselves.

Brendan is the first to answer. "I swear Ember, whoever write that was not Ro." I wave him off as I scoff then respond. "I know it's not him.. that's not how he has ever talked to me.. I'm not an idiot.. that's why I have called you guys here.. I think your father has taken him back." I say to them as they get a weird look on their faces glancing back and forth between each other.

"Why would you automatically assume that especially when Bullseye is your ex and obviously hates him." Roary asks me.

so I put the syringe that I found in the grass on the table sliding it to them. "Ronan was sedated but I have never smelt this substance before." I say as I decide to add. "..and the woman I live with on her property she said she saw wolves late last night taking him away.. she thought she was seeing things but then this morning she saw paw prints on the dirt showing her she wasn't seeing things so she told me right as she saw me."

They all look between each other as Sean is the next to respond as he smells the syringe. "It's wolfbane.. it's meant to sedate at lower amounts but kill at higher amounts.. but with Ronan being an alpha and big they would need to give him more than normal. So what should we do? A plan of rescue? Because if it is the king it's to marry him off and we can't have that. We all know how much he doesn't want that."

I nod in agreement with him but as I open my mouth to respond we hear the bar door opening up gaining all of our attention.

A younger than us, girl walks in as the guys eyes go wide. "Yaya? How did you get here what are you doing here?" They ask as they stand up and heading right over to her giving her hugs one after the other.. but she has a look on her face showing she is looking for something in particular. Her gaze locks with mine as she pushes through the guys and walks straight to me. "Wow.. you must be Ember." She says to me which confuses me completely. "Yes.. wait is that bad? How do you know me? May I help you with anything?" I ask curiously as she swallows the big lump in her throat before responding.

"Your just way more beautiful than he even described to me." She says as I get more confused. "Who?" I ask.

"Ronan.. my father abducted him and has him chained up with silver so it's burning his skin everytime he attempts to get out and believe me he won't stop trying." She says to me as I jump up and say to the guys, "See I told you it was him who took Ronan and wrote the note!" I declare then hugging the girl.

"Wait you knew it wasn't him?" She asks sounding suprised by my comment. "Yea of course I knew he wouldn't do that to me, he declared his love then marked me last night.. and the note obviously wasn't wrote by him he has never talked to me like that.. I know my mate better than that.. why?" I ask curiously after explaining.

"Oh Ronan didn't know what was wrote in the note but he was so worried about losing you after all this.." She answers as I realize something.

"Wait.. you know where he is? Can you take me to him.. I will save him." I say to her as she looks confused and looks at the guys who are not objecting one bit because they know who I am.. but Nikki doesn't.. but luckily she is busy setting up the bar not being able to listen in on your conversation.

"She can't get past wolves." she says over me to the guys. "Wanna bet?" I spat without hesitation, catching her off guard completely and the guys have a look of worry from my comment but not suprised. "Yaya she can handle herself." Brendan says as it finally clicks.

"Yaya.. You're his sister?" I ask as she smiles and nods so I hug her again before I ask. "So why did he abduct him? Because of the wedding?" I ask as she of course looks suprised that I I know about all this but nods as I ask again. "Whens the wedding?"

She looks at the guys then bavk at me before answering nervously. "Tomorrow morning." I grab my things as I say.. "I need you guys to get me into there and I'll get him out." I respond pretty quickly as the guys nod but she doesn't.

"I'm not going to send a little human in there by herself." She demands as I look at her and just skip to the point. "Have you heard of Bullseye and his Firecracker?" I ask as she curiously looks at me and nods.

So I extend out my hand and shake hers, "Nice to meet you I'm Firecracker. Well.. I don't want to be anymore.. but it looks like I can't keep avoiding my past." I explain to get her honestly as her eyes go wide.

"You're Firecracker?" She asks suspiciously as the guys confirm. "We saw her take on Bullseye last night by herself and they went toe to toe.. she can handle herself but I think we need to make a plan of attack Ember." Roary says to her then me as I groan and nod. "I'm not use to working in teams but that's probably the best way to get me into your pack.. giving me enough time to get him out." I say to them as they all nod knowingly.

So I just decide to start. "Ok so I need to be able to get in undetected so since I am small you can try to sneak me in with some luggage and I can of course break out on my own but I need some type of layout so I know a general area of where I'm going and you guys can be in the wedding and be back up of help if I need it.. So Yaya you said he is chained up so they probably won't let him out of the chains until the wedding and that's IF they let him out at all.. They might just leave the chains on and escort him there.. So I think my best chance of getting him out will be during the wedding." I explain as they all nod.

"That sounds good but they will still be suspicious of us as well because they know we are loyal to him so it might be harder than you think to get it but I think we can handle that." Brendan says as the girl replies, "You're coming with us Bren?"

He smiles and nods saying, "I can just let this happen to him.. it's my fault all this is happening anyways. so I have to... but what I don't get is how is Ma letting this happen. Everyone knows she respects the Moon Goddess and matebond over anything else."

"Oh Bren she is pissed! I guess she yelled at dad and is not talking with him at all." She replies to him as he nods at her. "Yea I could see that! That makes more sense to me and Da is pretty stubborn making Ma mad plenty of times before but I bet nothing like this.. I bet she was fighting an uphill battle with him doing this.. Ok Ember what do we need to do now?" Brendan asks as they all look then stare at me.

I let out a deep breathe before responding. "As much as I don't want to.. I need to get prepared like I use to.. for an assignment." I say to them as they all look confused.

"I need to head back to my place and grab my things, so you guys need to grab anything you need to take with you and then we will leave." I say to them as they nod.

"Ok I will need a little bit because I have hidden my past very well so let's meet back here in 3 hours we will eat and come up with the main details of the plan to help prepare our bodies and minds.. so we are not going into this tired, unprepared and running on empty. Then we will head out to get Ro.. this is not a battle it's a rescue mission.. our number one priority is bringing Ronan back in one peice." I say to them as they all agree with me thankfully and start heading out the door.

"Ember?" Yaya yells to gain my attention as I turn and look at her. "Yes?" I ask as I throw my leg over my motorcycle and sitting down on it.

"Can I come with you?" She asks curiously as I think about it for a second then nod.. It wouldn't be bad to have some company I'm feeling more alone than ever right now without Ronan around.. and I have a good comfortable feeling about her.

Handing her my helmet I say. "Here take this I don't want anything to happen to Ro's little sis." She nods and gets on the bike behind me carfully putting on my helmet. "See you guys soon." I say to them as they wave and I say to Yaya, "Hold on honey this is going to be a fast ride." I can feel her tighten her grip around me as I take off out of the parking lot and headed back to my place to collect what I need.
