Chapter 16 Silver Chains

Ronan's POV

My eyes flip open instantly waking me up, Cormac has put me on alert.

What was that sound?

He asks me as I strain my hearing and hear.. but nothing.. not even with my better than normal hearing being a werewolf.

I don't hear anything.. are you sure it wasn't just a dream you were having pup?

I ask him glancing around the room not seeing anything that would remotely concern me.

No I swear I heard something.. I'm not just making up s**t or even imagining things I swear Ro.

He tries to explain to me as I groan internally to not wake Ember up.

Ok ok I'll get up and check it out if that would make you feel better.. then when I prove to you there is nothing there.. we are going back to bed with our mate ok?

I negotiate with him as he huffs but agrees with me by nodding.

I swear I'm not making s**t up but yes please check it out I don't want anything to happen to our mate on our watch.

He tries to defend his feelings I shake my head but decide I need to get up because I'm a man of my word and I told him I would.

I slowly but carefully wiggle out from under Ember who is still sound asleep on my chest looking more amazing than ever. Once I slowly get out from her hold I stand over her looking down feeling better than ever about this amazing situation.

I don't know what I did to get lucky enough to have her as my mate. I understand she has had a tough past and done many things wrong but the difference between her and a bad person is her remorse. If she was as bad of a person as she thinks she is, then she wouldn't even remotely feel bad about everything she has done. She is even now helping people out around her which shows even more kindness in her heart so how can I judge her off of something in her past that she doesn't want to be anymore.

I'm taken out of my hypnotizing trance because of the sound of my phone vibrating and ringing. I see Ember groaning from the sound of my phone filling the room, so I quickly grab it off the floor along with my boxer briefs just in case, slipping them on then quickly going outside to answer my phone. I answer it so quickly that I don't even look at who it is on the other line.

"Hello?" I asked in hushed tones.. but I hear no response. "Hello?" I ask again until I look at the screen on my phone and see it's a call from my father. "Da?" I ask one more time until I feel a shooting pain in arm then neck. I feel my body getting weak as I look to my arm to try to figure out what's going on and there is a syringe hanging from my arm. I pull it out then throwing it to the ground as I growl and feel another pain in my other arm as the I feel so tired and weak. I hit the syringe out of my other arm and pull one out of my neck as the darkness hits me sending me into a deep unwanted sleep.

My eyes slowly flutter open to the sound of arguing. I groan as my eyes fully open but I keep opening and shutting them to help focus my eyes.

I see my mother yelling at my father."This isn't right! Who are you to decide that he should marry Rose when he finally found his mate!"

"I am king that's who! He is my son and should do as I say doing what's best for our pack!" My father yells back at my mother making her even more livid then before.

"But what about what's best for our son! You can't always put the pack over us! We need you to be a father, not always the King or Alpha! Who are you to go against the Moon Goddess anyways! She chose his mate for him and made sure they met.. you can't be better than the Moon Goddess to say they can't be together when she made sure to put them together! She obviously thought this woman was fit for our son and you can't say otherwise!" She spats at him as he yells back. "How can she be for best the pack she is a human and probably the easiest target out of all of us! A human can't take care of herlself, let alone be the Luna or Queen they need her to be!"

"You can't be the one to make that decision the Moon Goddess chose her for a reason. I can't believe you out of all people would judge a human.. there is nothing wrong with a human they have been known to run packs before.. and He loves her! Doesn't it matter what makes your son happy?!" My mother spitefully asks him with her hands on her hips.

"Humans have been known to run packs not kingdoms.. there is a big difference! and I'm not saying I'm better than the Moon Goddess but there is no way a human is capable of being able to protect herself let alone a orphan who is use to being by herself.. not caring for anyone but herself and I bet as a human she can barely do that. Don't worry I left her a note and made sure she won't be looking for him so it's not like we will have to deal with her again just deal with the fact that Ronan is going to marry Rose whether you like it or not." He says as she huffs and spats back.

"I'm not ok with any of this and I never will be.. as long as you're going through with this kidnapping and wedding then I'm not talking to you.. this is an awful thing you have done and I will have no part in it." My mother says storming out of the room, slamming the door behind her.

"Where's Ember?" I croak out glancing around my room as I try to sit up and realize I'm chained to my bed with silver, thats burning into my skin the more I pull my arms and feet. So I groan in pain as my father says to me.

"Don't worry about her she is fine. We left her alone but I did grab all your things from her place and left her a note so she won't bother you anymore son. So now you can get your mind straight doing what's best for our pack." My father thinks he explains as I groan more pulling on the chains again.

"I don't want to do what's best for our pack.. She wasn't bothering me at all, she is my mate! I just want my mate! What did you put in the note? What did it say?!" I yell questioning him as Cormac growls at my father hating this as much as I am.

"I wrote in there that you say you're not happy with her and you want to be with your pack taking your rightful place as king and the only way you can do that is without her... but don't worry she will be fine.. she will get over you and meet someone new.. and you have Rose anyways." My father tries to explain as I growl out in anger and pain at the realization of what he has done to me and Ember.. he has ruined everything and I don't know if I can fix it especially since he is keeping me locked up.

I pull my arms breaking the one pole on my right side that I'm connected to as I yell, "I want Ember only Ember! She is the love of my life and I marked her, she is mine and I don't want the kingdom or this life I don't want any if it without her! I won't go along with any of this!"

"You don't have a choice because if you chose to break out or leave I will kill Ember.. I will kill her myself if I have to. So if you want her safe you will go along with my demands." He spitfully says to me making my heart drop into my stomach.

I feel the silent tears running down my cheeks thinking of my life without her by my side.. I don't think I can do any of this without her nor do I want to do it without her.

"Are you crying?" My father asks with shock in his voice as I turn and glare at him saying. "Like you f*#king care at all.. but yes I'm crying I love her! She is my everything and all I want in life.. She makes me feel things I never imagined I could and I never want it to end. But you the devil you are have killed anything I ever imagine or talked about having with her.. you not only crushed my heart but hers too and nothing will ever be the same.. I will never be ok with you or this life.. you give me a chance to and I'll kill myself instead of any of this life without my mate."

He growls as he pins my arm back and reconnecting the chains to the wall this time as he stands at the edge of my bed staring down at me. "I know you don't believe me but I'm sorry for all this but I have to do whats best for the pack.. and she will be fine without you and the same for yourself." He says so sadly to me but I glare daggers at him, hoping that my looks could kill him Instantly with how livid I am at him.

"Get the f*#k out of here before I figure a way out and kill you for what you have done to me and my mate." I spat back at him as he matches my glares and throws the threat back in my face. "I already have it set in stone that if you don't marry Rose, that Ember will be killed.. so you make that choice, if you want to break out or not, but if she gets killed for your insolence then that's your fault not mine."

I clench my jaw as he smirks in victory and leaves the room slamming the door behind him as I ket out the most spine chilling, pain filled growl that has ever left my lips. It's so loud it shakes the walls I can feel it in my chains.

No no no he can't be doing this to us.. we just found our mate after so long and finally got the best moment of our lives combining as one, for it to be ripped away! She is going to think I got the s*x, marked her, then left her to move onto better things!

Cormac yells in defeat and I do the same as I continue to cry and whimper in pain not knowing what to do.

I hear the door open as I look and see it's my little sister enter. "Yaya." I say to her as she runs to my side. "RoRo what did he do to you? Silver cuffs?! What an animal! This isn't right! Did you really find your mate?!" She inquires as she checks out my wrists, that have the skin burning underneath it since silver is our weakness.

"Yes I found my mate.. her name is Ember and she has red hair like a fire and green eyes as bright as limes with the most stunning singing voice you will ever hear. We shared the most amazing night and I got to mark her and we planned on running away together but then Da drugged me and brought me here and left her a note saying I don't want her anymore. what do I do? He says if I try to leave he will kill her. She is human so he doesn't think she would be a good Luna or Queen.. this isn't fair this not what I want at all I just want her. Even Ma isn't talking with Da she is just as livid as I." I explain to her as she gently wipes the tears from my eyes.

"He said you can't leave but he never said anything about me leaving.. I'll go tell her.. or something I don't know." She says to me as I shake my head and say back. "You can't do that Yaya.. you will be endangering yourself."

She spats back, "You're my brother, you would do the same for me.. and this isn't right I'm leaving tonight and taking care of this myself." She says quickly standing us as I jump for her and the chains burn more pressed against my skins making me groan.

"Fine if your going to go.. then call Roary or Sean they know exactly where she and Brendan are they can help protect you and maybe help me.. but you have to go now while it's still dark or you might get caught. You can take my phone and call them if you want.. tell them what has happened to me and even to Ember so she doesn't hate me.. please and just be careful." I say to her as she salutes me and takes off out of my door quickly shutting it behind her.

I hope she can find them and explain everything so Ember doesn't hate me.. I don't know what else to do.. If I try to escape they will kill her and we can't have that... so what do we do now?

Cormac asks me sounding so scared as am I.

I don't know Mac I don't know.

I respond so sadly looking around trying to figure out a way around this.

I hear my door open once again, but very quietly as I see my mother making her way in secretly with food and water.

"Ro I'm so sorry for what your father has done to you. He doesn't realize what he is doing to you and I'm so sorry. How are you feeling? He injected you with so much Wolfsbane to subdue you.. but I heard it gives headaches and makes you dehydrated.. so I brought you some food and water." She says so sweetly as she holds my head up then tips the cup to my lips for me to drink. I willingly take the help because she is right, I do feel very very thirsty..

"Thanks Ma." I say to her as she sadly nods at me. "Now take some food my love you need all that you can get." She says putting food to my mouth and of course I willingly take that as well.

"Ma can you please help me out of this engagement? Please?" I beg her and she sadly looks at me shaking her head. "I promise I have already given your father an earful to the point that I'm not speaking with him or anything, but your father is more stubborn than you are and he is threatening all of you with me and I'll be damned before I let anything happen to you or Enya because of me. I'm sorry Ro." She says with tears building in her eyes.

"Can you tell me about her?" She asks me as I look confused and ask, "Who?" She shakes her head and says, "Your mate.. who do you think?" She asks as I nod and start.

"I went into this, I think Irish bar, when I saw her.. she is not the skinny type by any means but man she has curves in all the right places with red hair down to her butt then the brightest green peridot eyes I have ever seen in my entire life.. She was bartending and everyone there adored her.. she put all the men in their places by either threats to protect the people around her.. or by having fun and kicking their butts in pool.. they adored her so much that she almost had her own fan club there. They begged her to get up and sing for everyone to hear as I'd they were addicted to her voice.. and it was the best thing they ever did, because her voice was the most beautiful thing I had ever heard in my life.. She is so talented in so many ways that you would never expect just by looking at her.. I even watched her fight toe to toe with Bullseye the vampire." I say to her as her eyes go wide. "How is that possible for a human to fight toe to toe with a vampire?" She asks me curiously as I reluctantly respond. "Ma you have to believe me when I tell you she is different now and a better person but you know when you heard the awful stories about Bullseye and his main weapon?" I ask her as she answers while nodding. "Yes about Bullseye and Firecracker.. what about it?" She asks as I groan and say.

"Ember is Firecracker.. I met her because she turned Bullseye in and trying to change her ways to be a better person and all I saw was her helping people around her like threatening this man who was beating this woman.. she was protecting her and come to find out the woman was Brendan's mate. so now they are together.. But I guess she is the only one who can keep up with Bullseye.. I watched it with my own eyes they moved so quickly as if it was a blurr just matching each others moves and it was the craziest thing I had ever seen Ma.. but one of the sexiest too. She is amazing in so many ways and she actually let me mark her last night saying she wanted to run away with me and then all this happened ruining everything. What do I do? I can't and I won't marry Rose." I say to my mother as I can see her mind reeling.

"I don't know.. but I will try to figure out something." She says as she feeds me another peice of food.

"So you say she is changed and not the monster everyone said she was? I never knew the Firecracker was human let alone a woman.. she was unbeatable.. no wonder the Moon Goddess set her with you because she is probably the one human who could handle being with a pack of wolves.. she is a badass for a mate." She says to me as I smile smile nod.

"When I first saw her she was protecting Brendan's mate from her abusive boyfriend so I would definitely say she has changed.. but I couldn't have been luckier to find a mate like her.. I just hope of I ever get out of this she will be able to forgive me and take me back." I explain to her as she sadly nods at me giving me another peice of food to eat and I willingly take it. What am I going to do now?.. I guess all I can do is wait and hopefully my mother can convince my father to end this.. but If not hopefully my sister can find her way to my kin and mate to help.. but only time will tell.
