Chapter 3 The Bar and Grill

Ronan's POV

After a very delectable meal everyone starts to leave for the night to get sleep.. as the rest of the younger people stay to dance and drink the rest of the night away. That's normally the crowd I hang out with. So I hang out with my sister until I see my father and mother leaving to get some sleep.

"Ronan thank you for showing up and doing everything I asked, I couldn't be more proud of you being a man for not only us but your pack as well. It's refreshing to say the least. Thank you. We are going to get some sleep we will see you later. " My father states to me as he pats my shoulder and my mother kisses my cheek. I watch as they glide so gracefully across the ballroom floor and to the main doors.

As those doors shut behind them I turn to my sister and say. "If dad asks, tell him I was here all night with you.. cover for me because I only have a week to find and convince Brendan to come back, I have promised ma that so I need to go now. Bye Yaya." I say kissing her cheek as she hugs me tight.

"Please be careful RoRo and tell Bren I miss him." She says back to me as I nod and take off out the doors that lead to the back garden area.

Alright I'm leaving the back way now are you both ready?

I ask in our telepathic way of communicating called mindlink to Sean and Roary.

Yes Alpha, ready when you are.

I nod as I start to run across the open lands to

not be seen. I have to quickly find a place to hide behind some trees just to be able to hide from the sights of the border patrol before I stealthy sneak past and to the black SUV parked to the side and hidden in the trees.

I open the door and the guys are ready to go, sitting in the front seats waiting for me. So I jump in as they turn on the SUV and driving in the dedicated direction to finding my brother.

I strip down in the back of the vehicle taking everything off and getting changed into something more comfortable than that tux and button up shirt.

I slip on a tight fitted black tshirt with some dark blue jeans. "So tell me what you found out?" I ask as Roary is the one to respond. "I found out an address he might be still staying at, he was there last week.. but I need to know how the lovely engagement feast went for you two love birds." He saying sarcastically to me because he knows how much I don't like her.

I groan as I state, "It wasnt as bad as I thought.. She got drunk called my sister a tramp, then grabbed my d**k and tried to get me to come sleep with her but I turned her down respectfully and she didn't like that so she freaked out yelling in front of everyone announcing her dislike of my respect for her and that this is bullshit.. so... entertaining to say the least and I wasn't the one who ruined the meal so everyone looked at me more respectfully after that, which is nice and my father knows what I'm saying now for not wanting her, and get this he even thanked me for being so great there tonight." I explain as I watch their mouths drop open.

"I'm so sad I missed all that!" Sean says to me jokingly as I scoff and say. "The sooner we find my brother the better. Let's get there ASAP please."

We all talk back and forth for hours.. we have all been best friends since we were all tots. They are honestly my kin or I think of them more of my kin then anyone else.. even my actual brother.. now.

My brother and I have always been close until he just got up and just left us behind, that's not what wolves do to their family or pack. I have been salty about this whole situation since but I can see why he left I would do the same if I could, just because I don't want Rose or to be King either.

After very long 7 hours of driving we arrive at this small country town with mostly farms around the area. It's a very tucked away place that if you didn't know it was here, and didn't actually search for it, you wouldn't find it.

Looks like not much out here at all.. we watch the sun rise cascading across the trees and open land making it all just glow effortlessly in its own natural beauty. I really like this state, it has all the seasons, lots of trees which I love and so many different types of terrain that you could get almost anything here.. It's a great state.

We pull over on the side of the road as Roary looks up the address of the place my brother is staying at. We put the address in the GPS to make sure we get there in good time and it seems to be across town.

We pull up to the building that it says is our destination according to the GPS. We take a look around at the surroundings and the building looks old, run down and cheap for sure which is probably why he is staying there, to lay low at a fair price for what you're getting.

We get out as we prepare for what might happen. We try to open the front doors to get into the building but it's locked from the outside because you need permission to gain access to the building through a buzzer system or of course a key and we have neither. We can't let him know we are here because he might run.

We try to decide what to do because we are in human territory as of right now but of course there are always mythical creatures here anyways just mostly humans in this area and I don't want to bring attention to us especially with it being so early in the morning.

"Ok how about we do a stake out and wait for him to come out on his own and if we don't see him by high noon we will figure something else out." I say to them as they nod in understanding. So we head back to our vehicle and reparking it to where we are hidden off to the side.

We sit and watch for hours and nothing happens to our dismay.. this is such a waste of time right now. I get fed up and see a man walking to the building to gain access as I follow right behind him and into the building leaving my 2 men behind.

Watch the outside just on case he makes a run for it.

I instruct them as they say in unison.

Yes Alpha.

I walk all the way into the building, taking a look around st the dirty bland coloring around me, locking my gaze on the stairwell.. Then quickly taking the stairs knowing he is on the 2nd floor by the address it says 2D. I get to the second floor, slowly walk down looking at eat of the letters outside each room; A.. B.. C.. D. I say to myself staring at the door. I let out a deep breathe as I knock on the door not trying to alarm him so he doesn't run.

No response so I knock again.. waiting.. no response. "You look a lot like him." I hear as I look to the side to see an old woman looking right at me from the doorway next to the one I'm at.

"Ya I'm his kin." I reply as she fans her face off as if it's hot in here. "Yes you are.. I love your accents." I smile showing her my iconic grin. I walk closer to her as she just states, "He is not here." My eyebrows raise in suprise as I ask. "Ok, well I'm sure a lovey Las as yerself must have some idea where he maybe." I ask sweetly as she giggles and bats her eyelashes at me saying, "He spends most of his time at the 4 Leaf Clover and I don't know what he does for work but sometimes he is out all night.. and doesn't come back until the early hours."

I take her hand, pressing my lips to the back of it, kissing it softly as I say, "Thank you so much for your help."

She giggles more still fanning herself off as she states to me "Anytime handsome.. too bad I'm not 40 years younger or I would give you a run for your money."

I smile at her as I say. "I bet you still would.. thank ya Las. Have a pleasant day." I bow and receed down the hall from her to try to find this 4 Leaf Clover.

I descend down the stairs and outside the building then climbing back into the SUV. "So he wasn't there but this little old lady who was infatuated with me told me he is not there but usually at the 4 Leaf Clover.. whatever that is." I explain to them as Roary puts the name into his GPS.

"It looks like a biker bar and grill. I am starving we both didn't eat at all last night and it's the afternoon now." Roary states looming at me through the rearview mirror.

"Ok let's go have a seat, talk to the bartender and server to see if we can get any extra information, but be hidden as much as we can and get something to eat if we can.. but we need to investigate the area around it as well before we head inside." I instruct as they both smile and nod.

He turns on the vehicle and taking us to this place called 4 Leaf Clover. It has clovers all over the sign but says nothing about being an Irish bar if it is, because that's what they are almost

implying.. We pull up parking the vehicle off to the side to kind of hide it.

"Parameter check." I say as we all hop out of the vehicle with everything we would need. We check all around the building and there is just one entrance and one exit which makes things easy.

I lead the way taking us into the bar. It's dark with most the lights down. But little lights highlighting the place all around. There are darts, pool tables and a bar off to the side with plenty of open tables.

The one thing that catches my eye is a stunning scent that entraps me into a hold, making me wondering what that smell is. It's intoxicating to say the least.

My gaze travels around the room until it locks on a girl bent over a pool table in short jean shorts that are torn. My gaze travels down from her perfectly plump bubble butt and to her thick thighs I just want to take a bite out of. My gaze gets stopped by her black cowboy boots. Her hips shift from side to side as she aims to make a shot. I glance around at the men around her and they are just as entranced as I am.. but I can't figure out why I am so captivated. I never get like this by a woman and I literally haven't even seen her yet.

My wolf seems to be going nuts but he has no idea why either. The guys elbow me gaining my attention as we wait by the bar for the bartender. I continue to stare at the enchantress smelling that she is human, but sexy to boot.

I clear my throat asking, "Is there a bartender around this place?" I watch the girl stand up straight noticing her crop top long sleeve plaid shirt that's tied in a knot exposing her stomach. She has long red hair that reaches her ass, with bright green eyes. She smirks at me as she bends back down taking as shot making 3 pool balls in at once. She stands back up as the guys groan. She puts out her hand smirking at me as she says, "Come on boys don't keep me waiting." She says in the most stunning melodic voice I have ever heard.

The guys keep groaning but putting money into her hand. She takes it from them as she struts across the room to me. I observe as she shoves the money into her bra, then brushes past until there is almost no space between us, then behind the bar but doesn't break her gaze with mine once.

Mate! Mate! Mate!

Cormac yells in my head as I'm still locked into a gaze with her intense one. "What can I get for you?" She asks in a sweet tone to us, as the guys at the pool table state. "Our money back!" Playfully of course so she laughs the most beautiful laugh accompanied by a genuine stunning smile, the most perfect combo that I have ever heard and seen.. Making me just want to play that song on repeat.

"It's not my fault you suck at pool.. you just need more practice and I'll help you with that all you want until you can win some money back from me." She spats playfully back as she glances at us but locking back into my gaze.

"Sorry to bother but yer wonderin' if ya seen this man?" I ask showing her a picture of my brother. "Ya Brendan.. he is always respectful and I think he likes the waitress I work with here.. he comes in and always asks for her to serve him and flirts with her all the time.. anything else you might need?" She asks as I smile just staring at her for a moment until Sean elbows my side.

"Uh.. Ya we would love food and some whiskey on the rocks.. make them doubles." I say as she states, "Please?"

I look confused so she elaborates. "You didn't say please, so I want to make sure you knew.. that I know I'm just a bartender here to serve you, but I'm not your b***h so when you're in here you will use your manners along with please and thank you." She says making my guys laugh and shocking me completely. I swallow the lump in my throat before saying, "Please." I watch her smirk then grabbing the whiskey bottle and free pouring into 3 large glasses with ice and walking past to a table to setting them down on top for us.

"Thank you." I say to her as she winks and says, "My pleasure." She turns walking away from our table then bringing us some menus and setting them down. "I'll be back to get your order.. be ready." She walks across the room as the guys start laughing at me.

"What's so funny?" I ask as they both continue chuckling. "I just want to know why this girl has you captivated? She is hot beyond belief but I have never seen you not argue with someone talking to you like that." Sean says with humor in his voice but I don't want to say this outloud because I don't know how to feel about it.

She's my mate.

I say to them as both their eyes go wide. "Are you sure?" Roary asks as I nod. "Cormac won't stop screaming it in my head when she is near." I explain to them as they both look back and forth between each other. Because this makes things complicated.. I don't know what I'm suppose to do now.

What are you going to do? She is human so you can't just take her with us? And what's suppose to happen with the proposal?

Roary blares in my head as I just respond, "I don't know."

Our attention is grabbed by a man stumbling into the bar smelling as if he took a bath in alcohol. He takes the other waitress that the bartender was talking about, by the arm and pulling her over making her squeal in pain. But before we can even react, I watch my mate push herself between the two staring the man dead in the eyes.

"So Bert I can see and smell that you're drinking again." She says putting her hand on his trying to pry his hand from her arm.. she gets him to let the waitresses arm go. She softly pushes the waitress behind her protectively.

"Ember please don't get involved I don't want him to hurt you." The waitress says to my mate. The smirk doesn't break from her face as she states, "Oh Nikki I'm not worried at all he has more to be worried about with me, now go take care of your tables honey and I'll take care of him." She says with so much confidence in her words not breaking her stare down with the drunk. He gets pissed and trying to push past her but she pushes back keeping him in place.

"Ember get the f*#k out of my way.. or you're in a world of hurt." He says to her as she laughs and retorts, "Oh but you're so drunk right now that you don't even know you're the one in for a world of hurt." She says almost maliciously as he squeaks realizing what she is talking about. I don't know when but at some point she pulled a knife out and put it to his d**k and balls digging it in to get his attention and man did it.

She pushes it into his member again as he squeaks and puts his hands up in surrender. "That's right Bert.. now you're going to leave this place and never come back.. You're going to grab your things and move out, leaving Nikki alone forever and if I find out you lay another hand on her I swear to God I will track you down, no matter where your at and I will chop your pathetic excuse of manhood off and shove it down your throat.. Do you understand me?" He nods vigorously as he turns then bolts out of the bar and she quickly flips her knife back into its handle and slipping it back into her shorts.

She gets crashed into by the other waitress as she yells. "Thank you Ember thank you."

"No problem Nikki but if he ever bothers you again you come get me and no one else and I'll take care of him." She retorts back to the waitress. We watch her nod and wander to her other tables.

That was sexy as f*#k

Sean says in my head head I couldn't agree more. A woman who can take care of herself and the others around her is somehow sexy.

Ya it was.

I reply as she walks back up to us. "Sorry about that gentlemen, I had to take care of the trash in this place, so what can I get for you to eat." She asks so nonchalantly.

"What would you recommend beautiful?" I ask showing her my iconic grin that normally melts the ladies hearts but she just rolls her eyes.

"Ember.. is what everyone calls me.. and I would recommend just our barbaque bacon cheese burger it is delicious, the meat is from our farms around here and so are the veggies." She states not even remotely loving the flirting that normally entices the ladies.

"Ok Ember, I'll take one of those... please." I say as she smirks at me then at the other two as they give her their orders as well. "Alright I'll put that in for you and it should just be a little bit.. But if you would like I can send the waitress over that Brendan is always infatuated with.. see if she maybe knows something for you." She states as I vigorously nod at her. "Thank you that would be very helpful." I say as she looks me up then down then nods. I watch her walk behind the bar and putting our orders into the computer as she talks to the other waitress and points at us. The girl nods and makes her way over to our table.

"Hi I was told you guys might have some questions about Brendan? He is a sweet guy and if you're not here on good terms I'm not telling you anything." She explains to us as I smile and say, "I'm just trying to find him. he is my kin... my brother." I explain to her as she nods at us.

"He normally gets here about 2 or so and always requests me and tips well and gives me compliments all night, then stays and helps me clean up and we will talk for a little bit after, that's about it.. he told me he moved away from his family so I'm just suprised to see you're here for him. The way he made things sound was as if he didn't leave on good terms.. but he seems like a great guy." She explains to us.

I look at my watch and see it's almost 2pm. "Ok thank you and when he gets here can you not tell him we are here I don't want to spook him I just needed to talk with him thank you." I say to her as she smiles and walks off.
