As they crossed the room, Meikah scanned it, looking for her grandparents. She didn’t spot either of them. She didn’t know if that was a good thing or not. Even if they weren’t here, it wouldn’t help. They’d soon hear about her latest exploits. She waited until they were outside before she spoke. “Why did you have to be so loud when you said we’d be in the rose arbour?”
Kellan grinned. “How else are the gossips to hear where we’re going?” This time he kept his voice low.
“You want them to follow us?”
“How were you expecting us to be caught?”
