Chapter 13 Talking With Her

---Shane's POV---

I hang up the call after talking with my little brother. He sounds so upset and freaked out about everything. But who could blame him? I know I would be feeling the same if that happened to me and I knew where she was going.

I feel so bad for him, He has tried so hard to help anyone and everyone around him, but doesn't take the time to take care of himself. He has been so heart broken for years trying to find his mate with no success that I finally suggested to my father, to bring up a chosen mate with him just to make sure he has a companion, since the depression is hitting hard now.

Most wolves don't like being alone.. we are pack animals, but you will see a wolf every now and then in the mix that wants to be alone.. but that's not my brother Quinton, he needs to have that love and attention.

I was so happy to hear that he had finally chosen a mate and that she wanted to join him.. Quinton out of everyone, deserves to be loved because he hasn't had the best string of luck in his life.. So with him being my little brother then being hurt, along with an innocent woman being involved.. just boils my blood to know end.. To hear how she was just ripped away from him before they even have a chance to start.. that's just a different strain of awful, who does that?.. I mean really, who sells their own daughter?

I have heard lots about the Full Moon Pack and not all of it is good... but most of it is good.. so to hear the behind the scenes of what he does to his own kin, just makes me want to tear him apart and I only just heard what happened and was not even involved.. So I can only imagine how much strength it took for my brother to hold himself back from ripping him to shreds.. Not saying my brother is an uncontrollable monster or anything.. but my brother is very protective of anything he sees as his.. and if she agreed to go and be with him, then I'm sure he is freaking out by now. Hence why he called me.

What can I honestly do though? I have been searching for my father this whole time without a hint to where he actually is.. I mean I have had some hints here and there that just keep me strung along, but not enough to find anything involving him.. let alone him in the flesh.

But I would do anything for my brother, he is my best friend so I will have to head back to the pack.. and that's something I was trying to avoid at the moment.

"What's wrong my love?" I hear Celine purring into my ear as she massages my shoulders between her tiny hands but in her very tight grip. I groan out as I lean back into her body, just enjoying her touch as much as I can.

"I just got off the phone with my brother." I say to her as she bounces on her toes and clapping with excitement. "Yes! You finally told them about me?! Can we move with your family now?!" Her words are just oozing with enthusiasm, as I let out a deep breathe.. dammit.. I know she wants to meet my family but once they find out I have my mate they will force us into our roles as Alpha and Luna and I just want to enjoy this life of no stresses..

Well besides still searching for my father.. that's stressful and completely unsuccessful at least for now, but that search for him luckily led me to my mate.. Who was being held captive plus tortured and I saved her by destroying everyone that had her held captive.. which also meant I got rid of my last source to the Trader, damn these Alpha protective rage traits..I just attacked and didn't even ask questions.. I lost all control when I saw they had beat her and raped her. We have heard those stories about what happens to the women involved in the trades and I know why Quinton is freaking out right now.

But how am I suppose to help when I have had little success myself.. and to add onto that I have to explain to my mate that I haven't talked about her yet.

"No I'm sorry.. I didn't tell him about you.. He called and has an issue.. not with the pack but with himself." I try to explain to her as she let's me go crossing her arms across her chest as she walks away from me to the other side of the room, which isn't far.

"Are you embaressed of me? Is that why you refuse to tell your family about me?.. It's been months of us being together and you still won't take me to your pack... Is it because of what happened to me before?" She inquires just hoping for something to explain why I won't take her home.

"Goddess no! Not at all! You're so much stronger because you went through the hell you endured.. but I'm not even remotely embaressed by you or your past.. I just want as much time with just you as I can get. I know you haven't lived in a pack for long but the Alpha and Luna role is a busy one and we won't be able to see each other like this.. I just love everything about you and I don't want that time to be taken away.. We will still see each other, just not even half as much as this." I say to her as I stand up from my chair, and walk up right behind her. I put my hands on her biceps as I lightly rub up and down her arms, before whispering in her ear.

"There is no way in hell that I'm embaressed of you.. who could be? I just want you all to myself because I'm selfish.. I don't want to share you because you're MY amazing mate.. but when we go back I would have to." I try to explain as I see the goosebumps trail across her exposed skin letting me know she likes that touch.

"You promise?" She asks me while slowly turning around in my hold. "Of course my love." I rest my hand on her cheek as I lightly rub my thumb across it. I can't ever resist being this close to her and not kissing something on her. So I lean into her, watching her lips pucker and her eyes close in anticipation for my touch. This makes me smile as I give her exactly what we both want right now. I press my lips into her soft plump ones, causing me to pull her tight into my grip. She giggles into my lips because of my hold, as she pulls her lips from mine. "So what DID you guys talk about if it wasn't about me.. again." She asks me with a tinge of anger laced in her words.

"My brother has found a woman he wants to make his chosen mate.. It's been about 10 years since he shifted and 8 years since he started going to those awful dinner parties all across the area for mates to find each other.. but he can't seem to find her.. and he has been so lonely, so we told him to pick a chosen mate if anything, because he has been so depressed lately." I explain to her as she says the same thing I did to him.

"That's great that he found someone worth choosing.. that is good isn't it?" She asks me as I nod at her before continueing, because this is a sensitive subject for her since she has been apart of that life and torment.. she knows what this girl could go through and I hate reminding her of it at all.. even if it doesn't initially involve her.

"Well.. no.. not good because the father heard him asking for her to be his chosen and when she said yes.. he charged my brother 1 million dollars for her because I guess that the Trader.. was planning on paying that for her.. but since my brother couldn't come up with that amount of money, he decided to sell his daughter to the Trader and my brother wants help to get her back to him." I say probably too honestly to her but I want her to know what I'm dealing with.. but I don't want her to worry she will get brought back into any if this if I have anything to say about it.

"That poor girl.. and your brother.. I bet he is heart broken.. can we help them out?" She asks so sweetly not even thinking of herself.. or maybe she is, thinking of what she went through and that's why she wants to help out.

"Yea we have to go to my pack to see if we can help in anyway.. so it's time to tell everyone about you and end our stress-free life here.. unless you want to stay.. then we could never leave from here.. I would do that to spend it with you." I eagerly state to her, making sure she knows there is that second option if she wants.

"I'm sorry but I don't want to be here the whole time.. I have had lots of fun so don't get me wrong.. I just haven't had a family in a very long time and I want to experience that again.. with all that you have told me about your family and how nice they are.. I just know I would enjoy their company and love being apart of your pack.. I mean you came from them and you're the sweetest man ever.. so you're family couldn't have been that bad." She states making me chuckle at that.. because she is right.. I feel like I had the ideal family life for any wolf and I do appriciate it.

"I understand where youre coming from and I don't mind.. My family really is great and will probably adore you.. J dont kniw how they won't.. but ok fine.. let's get back home and introduce you to my family." I state to her as she starts hopping again and hugs me tight. "Thanks Bae.. I'm so excited!" She states as she is now prancing around our hut we have been renting. All right I guess it's time to collect my things and get back to reality.
