Diane was even more uncomfortable with the way everyone looked at her dress. She could see Carolyn's triumphant smile when everyone looked at her weirdly.
Unbeknownst to her, someone didn't look at her dress. His eyes were fixed on her flawless beauty.
Diane quickly excused herself once the guests were sitting on the lounge and ran back to her room. Even though she had let go of herself, she some how felt wronged when everyone looked at her with their mocking gazes.
As soon as she was inside her room, she slammed the door behind her and quickly walked to the closet.....to get changed.
Back to the Lounge.
Carolyn showed a wide smile and looked toward her husband who seemed furious. Well she was happy because that unlucky girl would get punished later for embarrassing their family in front of the Waltons.
But at this moment, Carolyn decided to focus on her daughter's happiness as she gestured for her husband to speak.
"You are welcome to the Alvez family. We're pleasured to host you in our peaceful home. I hope we can talk about our children's marriage now. Right Calvin? Feel free to call me dad after all we will be family soon, right Mr. Walton?" Mike tried to be enthusiastic because all this would benefit his business later.
"You're right Mr. Alvez. Let's talk about the marriage right away." The two fathers were focused on using their children's marriage for business development that they didn't notice Calvin's gaze which focused on a particular place as if he was waiting for someone.
Carolyn as well as Sara were nervous because only the two of them noticed Calvin from the moment they sat down. He didn't seem to give Sara any attention rather moved his eyes on the stairs now and then.
"Son.." At the fourth call, Calvin finally heard his father calling.
"Yes Dad."
"This is Mr. Alvez's daughter Sara Alvez. She is the one I told you about." his father introduced with enthusiasm. He was so eager to witness this marriage.
"Must I marry Alvez's daughter dad. Is it the only condition?" Calvin asked and for a moment, everyone felt nervous especially Alvez who wanted him to marry his daughter so bad. Calvin and his Dad Walton had agreed before hand that he had to get married to Mr. Alvez's daughter before he's officially announced to the public as the heir of Walton's corporation.
"What are you talking about Son? Didn't we agree that you will marry Sara before we came here?" Mr. Walton was starting to feel uncomfortable because he understood his son very well. From the look of things, he seemed to have noticed that his son was becoming reluctant.
"Mr. Alvez has two daughters, right?" Calvin directed his question to Mr. Alvez who nodded immediately.
"Then I will choose among the two if I must marry." Everyone was shocked with Calvin's statement. Immediately, Carolyn opened her mouth to speak because she detected where things were going.
"Future son in law.. As you can see, this house has two girls but one is so disobedient. Even if you look around, you can see that the disobedient one is not around. She didn't even welcome the guest and immediately ran back to her room. Since I respect your family so much, I would like to give you the obedient one because I don't want to give trouble to your family." Carolyn tried to talk calmly like a mother who really tried to coach her daughters but one just disrespected her.
Alvez who wanted to side with her wife also spoke after her.
"Yes, you have to marry Sara because the other one is not interested in men." At Alvez's words, everyone gasped. Was she a lesbian? But she didn't look like one neither did she look like a disobedient one.
"But I still want to choose from the two. Bring her down first." Calvin persisted.
Walton who understood his son exhaled deeply before he glanced at his wife as though asking for approval and he talked.
"Do as my son said."
In fact, Calvin's mom had seen through her son already. She had raised him without the maids so she understood each and everything about him. She had noticed that Calvin was a little bit interested in the strange girl that went back upstairs.
Carolyn immediately walked upstairs with anger even though she didn't want to show it to anyone. Which moves did that witch do to be glanced at every time she stepped outside. For a moment, Carolyn regretted inviting her downstairs to greet the guests.
If it wasn't for her husband's presence, she could have locked her in the basement for three days without food.
A few minutes later, there was a knock on Diane's room. She immediately knew that it was her step mom but she opened without hesitation.
Carolyn's eyes immediately caught invisible fire as she looked at Diane who had changed to simple pink summer shorts and a white crop top. Who told her to remove the dress?
She wanted to push her back inside to change her clothes but again an idea popped in her mind. She could take advantage of the situation and say that her disobedient daughter was jealous of her sister that she even changed into casual clothes instead of accompanying her sister.
"Your father is calling for you downstairs." said Carolyn as she pulled Diane's hand with some pressure. "And don't you dare do anything this will hurt my daughter or else I will make sure that you disappear from this world." Carolyn threatened as she led Diane downstairs.
Diane held her breath as she already sensed her stepmom's intentions. Usually, she always used the same procedures to lure her into embarrassment. She was already used to being humiliated now and then ever since she was in highschool. Her sister could humiliate her at school and make everyone hate her.
By the time they were in the living room, Diane kept her head lowered down because she wasn't used with people looking in her eyes. She could feel everyone's gaze on her and that gave her goosebumps.
"It's her, the one that I want." Calvin's said inwardly while his heart flattered.
