JOY'S POV Happy new year, happy new me,new goals and a new me",I say to myself as I walk through my bedroom door but before that I stand before the mirror and knit my dirty long blonde perfectly.I am my biggest cheerleader and I hype myself just before meeting my family. It's on a bright sunny Sunday morning and as usual everyone is asleep,it's 7am in the morning apart from my mum . "Good morning hunny how are you doing this fine morning",she cheerfully greets wearing nothing but a bright smile on her face,she lightens up my world. "Good morning mama,what is up for breakfast today mum",I ask her in a soft voice as I pull the stool towards the counter She reminds of my mum,her beautiful curved face and her soft voice,I really miss her I really wish she was there on my eighteenth birthday,she really looked forward to it, unfortunately we lost her. I'm 19 but my face,my face betrays me,my brother loves to make fun of me,he thinks I have a child like face I don't take this compliment on a light note,I mean I'm an adult,why does this keep taking me for a child,urgh,I'm so sick of everyone. I would trade my soul just for his cure,he is a colon cancer patient,it really affects him whenever he falls sick. I'm extremely optimistic that one day a cure will be found and he'll be able to carry around his activities without any fear. I help mum serving breakfast,a hot plate of bacon and coffee, what a healthy way to kickstart the day and the year in general. I'm really anticipating that this year is gonna be different,I hope I'll some new friends around the neighborhood and college at large In my sophomore year back at Stavert law school, I hardly have friends,everybody keeps making fun of my baby-face,I hate but I press on regardless. During my first year,I took it as body shaming and this made me a soical pariah. I pick my backpack and slide in my ear pods waves family goodbye Just before I walk out through the door, a strange looking man walks past me through the corridor to the doorway,he is looking elegant and well dressed,his hair is well aligned And his dress code could speak volumes on his behalf,he from a noble family or whoever might have sent him. He seems confident and conserved and the smile on his face reflects light on my direction,I can barely see.
