CHAPTER 4 New Life Begins

My life changed in a blink of an eye, till last evening they abused me, beaten and then work as a servant in their own pack even after several injuries. At last, they threw me in the old storeroom's icy floor to get some sleep.

Today everything changed I am laying on a soft comfy bed under flurry quint in a luxurious bedroom.

I don't know which place is this, but I traveled all the way from Ketchikan to New Orleans in a private jet with President Gilbert, and then he sends to this luxurious villa.

I wanted to ask him he wanted to arrange my accommodation in the company's dorm then why in such a huge villa but before even in asked he asked me to take a rest in his villa for today and tomorrow, he will arrange somebody to send me dorm and explain me my job.

President Gilbert is so nice to me, is it because I saved his life or because it's his nature or he has some ulterior motives?

A few moments before, a servant sends me these many dresses that I have never seen in my entire life. These all are looking costly. At first, I thought they are mistaken.

"President Gilbert knew Miss Lockwood isn't having many clothes that's why he sends all these for you."

My eyes turned wide in shock after listening to the servants.

As with all girls I also love you to wear beautiful, fancy, designer, and costly clothes that's why my eyes started glittering while looking towards the clothes but I immediately consoled myself.

"Convey my thanks to President Gilbert, but I can't accept all this."

Dad taught me there is no free lunch in this world. The world is laying on the system of giving and take. If somebody will offer you something for free, then he/ she has some ulterior motives.

However, the servant didn't buy my word. She fetches one dress and forwards it to me.

"Miss lockdown, this dress will look good if you wear it, do you want you to get ready by yourself or shall I help you?"

She is not looking for a mere servant but has an abiding aura I couldn't get how it comes from.

The servant’s words are like order to me, although I don't want to take these many dresses I knew I have nothing to change, so it's no harm to take at least one dress and later I will pay for it to President Gilbert from my salary but I will not take rest all dresses and that's final.

"I will do that."

I took the dress from the servant's hand and remind myself not to take any more help.

When I got ready, a chair, they escorted me to the western dining area where President Gilbert was already sitting and send like e for me.

"Hello Miss Lockwood, come and have a seat for dinner."

The same servant behind me pulled a chair for me.

First time in my life I get treated like some princess otherwise in my pack house I wouldn't even allow to see them when they were eating. I could only get these ready leftovers and sometimes if there is no leftover I had to starve, but today first time in my life I am looking at these many exquisite dishes and somebody asked me to sit with him respectfully and eat with him.

My eyes were about to brim with tears but I pushed them back and console myself I don't want to show myself weak in front of anybody.

After having stomach full dinner after many years, someone again escorted me to the luxurious room which can be mine for one night.

I couldn't able to sleep between a soft quilt and a comfy bed. I am used to sleeping on the hard and cold floors, feeling for the first time in my life what is softness.

Still, I was tired all day long and my eyes slowly started getting heavier and didn't let me realize when deep slumber took over my head.

I am Dylan Gilbert. Though I am a vampire King for many years living a life of a renowned business owner, President Gilbert.

I have everything in my life, a successful business, a happy family still feel like something is missing and. I always feel I have some task to complete and until I will complete my pending task I couldn't able to live peacefully.

This feeling of incompetence was tormenting me until I met Samantha Lockwood.

Bring King of vampire many times I have to visit my Kingdom which is in the northern part of America to see my subjects.

Last time while returning from my Kingdom I had an accident at the outskirts of Ketchikan and I got unconscious.

When I regain my composure, I was in the city hospital, and here my assistant Andrew Brown was in front of me.

Andrew told me he learned from hospital staff that a little girl saved me and my driver both and paid the amount of the hospital bill with her all money and some jewelry.

Andrew then places a small red money pouch and a gold chain on the table and walked out of the ward, leaving me alone with my thoughts.

I was bewildered. Is there anybody who could be so selfless in this period? I checked the small money pouch and found only a few thousand dollars, which was looking like hard-earning savings with a small amount. Then I looked at the guild chain with a small heart-shaped operable pendant.

That open, able pendant changed everything in my mind.

When I opened it, I found the two people to whom I owe my everything. They are Silvester Lockwood and Elizabeth Cooper.

I was in a tough time when my father Valentin Pureblood was the king of vampires. He was ruthless in his subjects so to me.

I was in depression and wanted to kill myself when I accidentally encountered Elizabeth Cooper. She motivated me to live life joyfully, even when you are in the worst time of your life.

Then Sylvester Lockwood killed ruthless vampire King Valentin, my father, and helped me claim my sovereignty on my empire, otherwise, either I could have to live a suffocated life by adjusting the situation or could have killed myself regardless of my family, my wife, children.

Few years before I came to know about the Alpha, Sylvester and Luna Elizabeth have vanished and their old enemies arrogated their territory.

Since then, I have been searching for them.

Now this chain with pictures of Sylvester and Elizabeth with two children has me hoping Sylvester and Elizabeth to this girl are related.

I ordered Andrew to bring this girl to me before morning.

When she walked in my ears, at first glance of her I got she is Sylvester and Elizabeth's daughter because she looks exactly like Elizabeth, but when she confirmed her name Samantha Lockwood, I felt joy in my heart. Finally, I could see my angels, I was trying to search for them for so many years.

My last hope had broken when she told me that her parents are no more. I could see her eyes filled with pain by saying this.

Then she said her foster parents also died I noticed her eyes were blank which made me realize she was painful with her foster family.

She was the daughter of the most powerful alpha werewolf but she was wearing soiled and thorn clothes, with many black and blue bruises on her visible skin, why she remained with just a few thousand dollars and only one relic of her parents which she grabbed like sinking person grabbed a straw? 

My heart painted seeing her condition.

I couldn't get why is she in this condition, I tried to find out but she was not interested in talking about herself. I offered her help by saying I owe her but she refused straightforwardly, that's why after kissing her future plan I offered her a job to help her in a different way.

After all, I can't let this small girl go all alone in this ruthless world with no security around, especially when I know she is Sylvester and Elizabeth's daughter and even she is also the one who saved my life.

Now she will be under my protection, vampire king's protection. 

I appointed her as my brat son's secretary. The fire in her eyes gave me hope she is the only one who makes my son mend his ways and make him serious about his work and studies.

My only son William Gilbert, 20 years old, doesn't want to do anything in life other than trips and holidays or if he will be back to the city only wants to do parties or vagrancy with his vagabond friends.

I hope with Samantha in his life will make him understand what actual life is.

When my life changed from the path of thorn into a bed of roses, I didn't imagine it will take another U-turn.

President Gilbert wanted me into his villa for a few more days, but I said that I wanted to be comfortable where I have to live from now on.

He sends his assistant Andrew to bring me to the company's dormitory, which was also added luxuriously as his villa.

The room allotted to me is having a small living hall with one large master bedroom, a kitchen with dining space, and a big balcony which can give a beautiful view of the entire city from the 9th floor. The entire form was lavishly furnished.

It thrilled me to see the form, which is looking like a small apartment.

Is it all mine? I couldn't believe it. But it's true, I am not dreaming.

My all happiness and excitement went in vain when the next day I got changed and went to work. Assistant Andrew again escorted my first day of the office and me.

He made me understand my job is the secretary of my general manager, but as I entered the general manager's cabin, the rug swept out from under your feet.

"You...."

Before I could complete her again yelled at me.

"You ugly lizard, what are you doing here?"
