Whisper from behind
Once upon a time in the bustling city of Jaipur, there lived a wealthy man named Ashish. He owned vast lands, had a thriving business, and lived in a grand haveli filled with luxuries. His wife, ruby, was a beautiful and kind-hearted woman. They shared a deep love and respect for each other, but there was one sorrow that clouded their otherwise happy lives—they were unable to have a child. Ashish and ruby longed to hear the laughter of a child in their home. They visited numerous temples, offering prayers and making donations in hopes of receiving blessings for a baby. They sought the guidance of many priests and sages, who provided them with rituals and remedies. Despite their relentless efforts, their wish remained unfulfilled. One day, while visiting a revered temple on the outskirts of Jaipur, they met a wise and old priest who had a reputation for his spiritual powers. The priest listened to their plight with great empathy. After a moment of contemplation, he handed them a small, ancient-looking amulet and said, "This amulet holds a special blessing. Keep it close to you and continue your prayers with a pure heart. Miracles happen to those who believe." Hope rekindled in their hearts, Ashish and Ruby returned home, following the priest's advice faithfully. They kept the amulet in their prayer room and continued their daily rituals with unwavering faith. Months passed, and one miraculous day, Ruby discovered she was expecting a baby. Their joy knew no bounds, and they thanked the heavens for this precious gift. Ruby gave birth to a beautiful baby girl whom they named Gori, which means "name of a godess" in Sanskrit. Their home was filled with happiness, laughter, and the sweet cries of their newborn daughter. Anaya grew up to be a bright and loving child, bringing immense joy to Ashish and Ruby. Years passed, and Gori blossomed into a kind-hearted and intelligent young girl. However, fate had another challenge in store for the family. Ruby fell gravely ill and, despite all efforts, passed away, leaving Ashish and Gori heartbroken. Ashish did his best to provide a loving and nurturing environment for Gori, but the void left by Ruby's absence was deeply felt. One night, as Gori lay in bed crying, she felt a gentle, comforting presence. In her dreams, she saw her mother, radiant and serene, speaking to her with a voice filled with love. "My dear Gori, I am always with you. Whenever you need me, just call out, and I will guide you." From that night onward, whenever Gori faced challenges or felt lonely, she would sense her mother's presence. Through dreams and fleeting moments, Ruby's spirit provided comfort and wisdom, guiding Gori through the trials of life. With her mother's ethereal support, Gori grew into a strong, compassionate woman. She carried forward her parents' legacy of kindness and generosity, making a difference in the lives of those around her. Ashish, though always missing his beloved wife, found solace in seeing Gori embody Ruby's spirit. Once upon a time in a quiet village, a girl named Gori lived with her father. Gori's mother had passed away, leaving her father heartbroken. After some time, he remarried, hoping to bring stability and care back into Gori's life. However, his new wife, Rama, turned out to be very cruel.Rama bore a child, a one-eyed girl named Tannu, who was as spiteful as her mother. Consumed by jealousy of Gori's beauty, Rama treated her stepdaughter harshly. She barely gave Gori any food, hoping to diminish her beauty and spirit. Gori's father was often away for work, unaware of the suffering his daughter endured at home.Despite the harsh treatment, Gori remained resilient, drawing strength from the spirit of her mother, who she felt was always by her side. Over time, the lack of food made Gori weak, but she never lost hope. One night, her mother's spirit visited her in a dream, offering her a solution. She advised Gori to drink the milk of the cows when she took the cattle to the field. The next day, Gori followed her mother's guidance. She drank the fresh milk from the cows, feeling nourishment and strength return to her body. Gradually, her beauty and vitality returned, puzzling her stepmother, who couldn't understand how Gori was thriving despite the lack of food.Suspicious, Lilith decided to follow Gori one day. She hid and watched as Gori took the cattle to the field and drank the milk that flowed generously. Infuriated by this discovery, Lilith waited until they returned home and then beat Gori mercilessly, threatening her to stop drinking the milk. Rama decided to wait for her husband to come home, planning to twist the story against Gori. As days turned into months, Gori continued to endure the hardships imposed by her stepmother, Rama, who reveled in her misery. Gori's father, Ashish, distraught by his wife's ultimatum, sold all their cattle to appease Rama, plunging their household into deeper poverty. Gori was again deprived of food and subjected to constant scolding from Rama and her growingly spiteful daughter, Tannu. One day, overwhelmed with sadness, Gori found solace in sleep near the stairs of their modest home. In her dreams, her mother's spirit appeared once more, guiding her to a temple deep in the jungle. Gori's ancestors had built this temple, and it held a promise of abundance for her.Upon waking, Gori resolved to follow her mother's instructions. She diligently completed all her chores and ventured into the dense forest until she discovered the ancient temple. With faith in her heart, she prayed earnestly to the divine for nourishment, describing her hunger and desperation.Miraculously, a lavish feast materialized before her eyes, laden with all her favorite foods. Gori ate to her heart's content, feeling strength and beauty returning to her frail body. This ritual became her lifeline, sustaining her through the harsh days that followed. However, Rama's suspicions grew. Convinced that something clandestine was afoot, she instructed her daughter Tannu, with her keen single eye, to shadow Gori and uncover her secret. Peeking inside the temple, Tannu saw something that frightened her and she began to scream, "I will tell mom that you sit here and eat delicacies." Just then, a wooden stick comes from the temple and hits Tannu hard. Crying and screaming, Tannu reaches home and tells her mother everything that happened at the temple while sobbing.
