Chapter Two

Nobody wants to work when they have a throbbing head because of the amount of alcohol you had last night but when you're in the need of money for another hangover tomorrow , you'll work . Maybe ?

But I will .

I pinch my temples that's paining like somebody hit it with a hammer as I walk through the soft drinks section .

Its getting harder to control and I know its not because of the hangover and no pain killers will do any effect .

Keeping all the misplaced soft drinks I turn around to walk back to staff's room but ended up colliding onto something or .........someone .

I stumbled backwards and was about to fall when someone gripped my wrist stopping me from falling . I stopped in midair , standing in slanting position and that man holding my hand standing straight showing no effort holding me.

He pulled me towards him and me landing safe on his chest .

I looked up to meet two blue orbs staring right down at my hazel ones.

I pushed myself away from him and pinched my temples to reduce the throbbing pain .

" Sorry " I said and moved aside to go .

I really need to find my pills .

I took one step to move forward but the throbbing in my head shooted up blurring my vision and next everything went black .

Waking up from a pass out by hearing a bucket full of swears doesn't sound good and is really not pleasant .

I opened my eyes to see Nick throwing a tantrums with a mix of different swears .

" WHY THE F**KING HELL DIDN'T SHE TAKE HER PILLS ?! WHY DOESN'T SHE F**KING OBEY US ! AM TIRED WITH THIS s**t ! " Nick kept on showering swears until he notices that am wide awake and is watching him with bored expression .

" I need some popcorn Lin . Its rare that I get to see Nick throwing tantrums . " I said turning my gaze towards Lin who was standing beside the bench on which I was laid .

" Its no f**king time to joke Jen . This thing is going out of hand . This will come again if you drink again . And you didn't take your pills this morning didn't you ? " he said looking at me with clenched hands and hard gaze showing he is very much angry .

I gulped .

" I forgot . " I said looking down at my fingers.

" HOW CAN YOU JUST FORGET TO EAT YOUR DAMN PILLS JENNIFER ? " he said running his hands through his hair messing it .

" You look ho- "

" Don't start with that again. I know what you're gonna tell but that's doing nothing on me this time . You just passed out there and a guy brought you to us . We were f**king shocked you know that ? Lin just had a panic attack seeing you like that . Jen ...we really don't want everything to happen so fast . You have to reduce you're drinking , which will effect it one way or another . Please . I will not stop you from drinking but .. Only two glass . "

" But that won't help me sleep . "

" Jen . I know . I will be there with you . Okay ? But only two glasses . Done . "

I smiled at how he cares for me but as well feel guilty that he and Lin doesn't deserve to always be cautious and always looking after me than enjoying their life . I should be thankful that I passed out when they both were just a few meters away from me. And that guy , I thought he would start yelling at me for bumping onto him but he was looking at me like he was analysing something . I should be thankful that he helped me out .

But where is he ?

" Nick ? "

" Yeah ? "

" Where's the guy that helped me ? "

" Oh . He went , he said he want to go somewhere important so he left . "

I don't know why I frowned on that . But I just wanted to thank him . And from what I saw ,god he was breathtakingly handsome .

Yeah .

Lame .Jen.

"Oh . Okay . " I said standing up .

" Woah. Woah Woah Wo-ah . Sit down " Nick said coming to me and placing his hands on my shoulder making me sit back .

" But ..why ? Am totally fine . " I said removing his hands from my shoulder .

Sighing he knelt down in front of me .

" Look Jen . I can't risk you passing out again . You should rest until lunch and then sit on my counter and do my duty of billing and I'll do yours . "

" Listen here you Mr. Over caring over protective Brother . Am totally fine and am going to work on my duty after lunch . And umm .. Okay I will rest till that . "

I said but I noticed something flicker in his eyes when I called him Over caring Brother but I don't know what was that .

He smiled and kissed my forehead and stood up .

" As you wish princess . "

" Thank you prince . " I said smiling cheekly at him . He winked and walked outside .

Adalin who was sitting beside me watching curiously sighed .

" You just break his heart everytime Jenny . " she said standing up .

Breaking his heart ? Who ?

" Wait . What are you trying to say Lin ? " I said grabbing her wrist to stop her .

" Nothing . Just take rest . " she said smiling and kissed my forehead before leaving me alone in staff's room thinking .

What's with them ?

What was she talking about ?

Whatever it is I can't give him any hope . Whatever it is that is in his mind I can't let him be like that . There is no future for me and him.

He should be the one knowing that .

Doing something as a daily routine makes that a hobby . Drinking just two glasses of alcohol instead of seven or eight sure leaves you sober .

Yup that's what happening to me. My best friend Nick thought that it would be great to leave me sober for a night . His dialogue was that ' Jen only two glasses . No more no less and I know you won't drink any less so no more . If I find you drunk when you come home you're not going to that bar anymore . Understood princess ? ' .

Yea sure .

One more glass won't make me drunk right ?

" You're not taking more glasses Jenny ? "

" Umm. No Lucas . Nick warned me that more glasses then no more bar. So only one more glass . " I said turning around to face Lucas who is a bar attender here .

" Here you go . Last glass of this evening . My lady . But where is Nick ?" he asked giving me my last glass of the day .

" Thanks . " I said giving him a wink .

" And Nick , he had to meet his dad for something so he'll come tomorrow . Maybe ? "

Even after three whole glasses am still sober . Nick knows very well that three glasses won't make me drunk . And that's the problem am still sober .

Maybe I should move around to get over my soberness .

Suddenly the music stopped and someone appeared with a guitar .He began with Edwin Mccain's I'll be .

Wow .

" Hey . Lucas who's that guy singing over there ? " I asked turning around to face Lucas .

" Oh we have this guy to sing after 10 . He sings pretty well right ? " he said filling one glass for another customer.

" Yea . But I can't see his face . Why is it dark ?! "

There is no light that shows his face . Is this some kind of suspense thriller ?

" Lights will be open when he takes the high note . " Lucas said leaning onto the table .

" And how do you know that ? "

" 'cause am the one opening the light . " he said in a ' duh ' tone .

" Oh . What's his name ? "

His voice . Oh my god.

Am getting goosebumps .

Lame. Jen.

Suddenly the light went on when he took the high note and my eyes widened when I saw the face - the store guy and he was looking at me . More like observing me .

I felt like he is singing for .. Me ?

You're drunk .

Yes.

" Hey Lucas what's his name ? "

I turned back to face Lucas .

" Edward . "

" Cool . Does he come here everyday ? "

If he does why haven't I seen him ? Maybe I can be too drunk to notice .

" Oh he joined yesterday . The last one Jonathan , he quit the job. "

" Okay. ". That's why he was looking at me like that yesterday at store .

The song ended and the crowd erupted into cheers .

" He's awesome Lucas . These talents should not be wasted in such bars . "

" yea . But he should atleast get a chance to showoff his talent. Jenny "

I nodded . Its right . We can struggle but we should atleast get a chance .

I turned back to face Lucas .

" Hey mind if you give me one more glass . Please ? "

" Jenny . Nick will kill me if I do that . This would be your fourth one . I know you're still sober but its harmful you know . "

" I know its harmful but nothing is gonna change the fact that am just a guest for some months or maybe a year in my life . So let me drink . Give me one more glass . It will be the last one . Please ? "

He sighed and made me a drink .

" Aw . You're such a darling Lucas . "

And he winked in response .

" Hey Ed ! Come over here ." Lucas shouted to someone behind me .

Suddenly someone appeared beside me and took a seat there .

" Hey Lucas . Wassup man .! "

I tilted my head to see the face and I was not at all shocked to see Edward sitting beside me ...so close .

He looks pretty hot from near .

Yea .

Hot .

Lame much ?

Blue eyes , a mix of blonde and brunette hair and very good features to swoon upon I must say .

He turned his head to look at me and I moved my gaze to Lucas who was watching me with a slight smirk .

" Hey . You're Jennifer right ? "

I snapped my head to see Edward looking at me with a small smile .

He is talking to me ?

Me ?

Lucas snapped his fingers in front of my face .

" Earth to Jenny . " he said wiggling his eyebrows .

" Shut up Lucas . " I turned my head to face Ed who was still looking at me with an amused smile.

" Hi . Am Jennifer . " I said giving him a my prettiest Smile .

" Am Edward . " He said mirroring my expression .

Someone cleared their throat purposely , we turned our heads to face Lucas who was smiling at us widely .

Jerk .

" Guys you both carry on I'll just attend some customers at front . See ya . "

And he left .

Great .

" So how are you now ? I couldn't wait till you wake up . "

" Oh. Am fine . Its just an effect of yesterday's hangover . Am totally cool now. "

" But I don't think so . You're guy friend was all hyper when he saw you . "

" umm .. He is just like that . Over protective over caring . " I said dismissing it with a wave .

" You sing very well . That was my favorite song and you nailed it . It was awesome ! . " I said to change the topic .

" Thank you " he said giving me a wink and drinking his drink.

I glanced at my watch and my eyes widened . It was almost twelve . Oh god. I would be totally grounded .

Yea. Grounded .

She won't allow me to go here .

" Um ..Ed I gotta go . Bye see ya tomorrow . ". I stood up to leave but suddenly he grabbed my wrist .

" Its almost midnight . You're not going alone . I'll drop you at your house . " he said standing up.

" Umm.. Its okay . I can manage "

" No . Am not allowing a girl to go alone at midnight . Please ? "

I sighed . He will not leave me alone .

" Okay come on . "

Standing in front of my house I turned back to see Ed standing behind me .

" Umm.. Thanks . It was sweet of you to help me . Umm... I'll go now . See ya tomorrow ..Maybe ? " I said and he chuckled .

Aww.

I turned back to open the door but stopped when he called out .

" Jenny . Wait ! Umm... Can I .. .umm ... Can I get .. Umm your number please ? I know we don't know each other that much but .. Umm we can be friends right ? So umm....please ? " he said scratching back of his neck .

He is nervous .

God .

As much as I want to trust him and give him my number but I should be a bit cautious right ?

I know he can't be of any harm still .

I took his phone which was in his hand and typed my number but leaving the last two digit as star and saved it as Jen .

Looking at his phone he frowned that made me chuckle .

" Ma'am the last two digits are given stars . May I ask you why ? "

" I'll give you the last numbers when we meet next time . Bye " I said giving him wave . He mirrored my expression and went back to his car .

Sighing I closed the door and a smile crept onto my lips .

Geez . What's happening to me ?
