Change

Chapter Seven

Life can be challenging sometimes and you should be determined to face it . Even if it  tear you in pieces,  if its for your loved ones nothing can destroy that determination.

But at certain time it may be very difficult to face that challenge if you don't want to face it .

Now am facing that difficulty .

He want make me his and want to be by my side .

What should I do ?

Sighing I sat straight on that sucking hospital bed . I woke up half an before and the nurse told my friends were in Dr. Mathews's cabin . So I should wait  for them to return . I haven't seen Ed since I woke up ...and am glad he didn't come . I hope he has made his mind on forgetting me .

Thinking about leaving him filled my eyes with tears .

Suddenly the door slowly opened and I wiped my tears away and as that person came inside my eyes widened .

" Riley ? " I said in disbelief . What was she doing here and why ?

" Hey .. Jen . " she said smiling. She came near me and sat beside me .

She smiled again and gave a soft kiss on my forehead .

" How are you ? " she asked and I smiled back at her .

" Am fine . " she smiled again .

I was trying to swallow whatever was happening now . Because first thing I haven't seen Riley since last year I when I visited her and second I haven't seen her smile ..not even once because I saw her after my brother's death .

She was indeed beautiful when she smiled just like what Jamie had told me. She had strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes . Even though she didn't have any make up on her face she still looked beautiful . My brother's choice was indeed great .

I bit my lip and tried hard not to cry in front of her thinking about Jamie . Its the first time I have seen her smile and I don't want it to vanish because of me .

We chatted for some more time and after a moment of silence she took my hand and squeezed it gently .

" Jen ... I know what you're going through but what you're thinking is not correct . He will be in pain in one way or another . If you push him away he'll be in pain and alone . From what I saw how tensed he was looking at you lying in this bed unconscious , I knew this guy is crazy for you .. If you'll give him a chance , he will not be in pain . Trust me , In the beginning it'll be hard for him but he'll live with you're love and eventually move on- "

" Did you move on Ri ? " I asked cutting her off and she looked at me smiling .

" I'm trying to . " she said and my eyes widened with happiness . Even though I felt sad for my brother but she doesn't deserve to be lonely and hurt .

" Am so happy for you Ri ! " I said hugging her tight and she hugged me back .

She pulled back and gave me one last smile .

" Give him a chance . Think about it Jen .. Time will never wait for you . " she said and left the room leaving me in a worst place .

Should I accept him ?

Groaning I covered my face with my hands .

But I want him to move on after my death . That would be my last wish .

Suddenly the door burst open and Ed came in panting .

He closed the door and smiled me .

" Hey you're awake .."he said coming towards me .

" I woke up an hour ago and you're coming now ? " I said and he looked at me with amusement.

" umm..I ..was a bit busy . " he said scratching his head .

Oh god he looks so cute ...

" You were that much busy that you didn't have time to come see me ? " I said and crossed my arms above my chest .

" Come on .Jen " he said and walked towards me taking long strides . In a second his face was in front of face and my breathe hitched . He chuckled and gave a peck on both of my cheeks and one on my nose .

" I love you .. " he whispered and gave a kiss on my forehead .

" I love you too . " I said and he looked at me with wide eyes and his jaw hanging open .

" You ..you said it .." he said and I gasped dramatically before giving him a blank face .

" I said that before passing out . You i***t . " I said and his eyes widened .

" You did ? ... Urgh ! Am such an i***t . " he said sitting straight .

" You are " I said pulling him by his collar , giving him a kiss on his cheek keeping my lips on his cheek for sometime and his eyes widened but soon a flash came and  I moved back . We turned to face the door and saw Lin and Nick standing there grinning wide with a camera in Lin's hands .

I looked at Ed and he was biting his lip to not to burst out laughing .

" You knew this ? " I asked and he nodded .

" I am going to capture every moment in our coming future . And I'll make you the happiest person in this world . " he said cupping my face with his hands and leaning his forehead on mine .

Soon someone cleared their throat and we turned to see Nick and Lin looking at us with wide smile and gestured something with their hand . I turned my head to look at Ed , who stood up and took something from his pocket.

My breathe hitched and heart beat sped up when I saw a small blue velvet box in his hand .

He opened it and pulled out a simple ring with silver carving in between .

He knelt down on one knee and looked at me .

" Jen .. You have never asked anything for yourself and always wanted to protect those who love you and whom you love . Now I want to protect you and make you the happiest person in this world . I love you ...Will you marry me Jennifer Stone ?  ".
