Chapter Four

When you're life gets screwed up at a moment no other escape plan works and you seem to be paralyzed to move a muscle . That's what happening to me now .

Edward was coming towards me singing and the female part was yet to come . He came and stood in front of me and Lucas nodded at me to continue .

Gulping I took the Mic from Lucas and took a deep breathe .

Its time for some action .

Dramatic much .

I know am not a great singer but no one is going to judge you .

I began the female part and Lucas's eyes widened for a second and then he gave me a full wide smile before joining in clapping along with Ed .

That did boost me up .

I am not really known for ever being speechless

We were now standing face to face and I felt like he is the only one looking at me now . Like we are the only one here . Taking a deep breathe and smiling we took the next part together .

Each and every word we sang felt so deep like , we were communicating through the song . Pouring our feelings that haven't yet developed, into that song .

Geez .

We ended the song and the crowd erupted into wide cheers .

I felt something deep in my heart that words can't express .

Something near to happiness with satisfaction .

That same satisfaction that I had when I sang in front of family along with my dad .

Dad...

A single tear escaped from my eyes and rolled down my cheek .

Suddenly I felt something on my shoulder . I turned back to see Ed looking at me with concern filled all over his face .

" Hey .. Are you okay ?"

And I did something that made us both startled . I hugged him .

Yea . Hugged him . Tight .

For a second he was taken aback from my gesture but quickly regained his posture and hugged me back . I felt the same warmth and the safe feeling that I used to get when I hugged dad or James my brother .

I pulled back to look at his face and to my surprise he was smiling warmly at me.

" Umm.. How did you know I will sing good . You were quite confident when you made me sing . " I asked looking at his face . I really didn't know he was so stunning from closer .

Cut the crap Jen.

" Umm.. I don't know . I just felt like asking you .. so ..umm..yea. That's it . " he said looking back at me .

Though the reason was not appealing but I decided to go with it .

Soon someone cleared their throat and I realised what I was doing so pulled back completely . Heat crawled up my neck and cheeks and I know my face would be red like tomato .

He tugged my hair behind my ear and lifted my chin with his finger .I met those blue orbs which hypnotized me with its depth .

" Are you Okay ? " he asked with concerned eyes and I nodded which made him smile .

" You did great there . Umm..can I get the last digits of your number ? " he said as we sat in front of Lucas who served us his Speciality .

I don't know what's special in it but it made be a bit dizzy .

I took his phone and filled the last digits and gave him back and he smiled in return .

" What's in this man ? " Ed asked as his face scrunched up in disgust.

" My speciality . But its effect last for just half an hour or less . " Lucas said and sealed his secret with a wink .

" Can I get your speciality once more ? " I asked and his eyes widened with ..amusement ?

" No Jen . One more shot of this can be harmful for you . No am not giving you . " he said and passed his special drink to another customer who just sat beside me .

I know what's harmful and what can make me drunk . Both Nick and Lin have gone to attend the party and I know they won't be sober . So he won't even know I came home drunk or not .

And one more glass won't make me tipsy .

And I don't want to be tipsy 'cause when am a bit tipsy I end up doing crazy things . By crazy things ..I mean those things that no one expects me to do . Nick knows that well .

Snatching Lucas's speciality from the other customer I gulped it down quickly that did burn my throat . Though that customer yelled at me I didn't care .

" s**t Jen ! " Lucas yelled snatching the glass from me . From the corner of my eyes I could see Edward looking at me with wide eyes and open mouth . Giving him an evil smirk I snatched his glass and gulped it down annnndd ended up coughing .

Yea .

Edward was still in his shock but soon recovered and patted my back . After few more coughs I regained my posture and sat straight .

Am feeling really dizzy now .

Damn your ego Jen .

I felt really tipsy , my vision kept on blurring and I couldn't stand up straight .

Way to go Jen .

Giggling I pinched a dumbstruck Ed's cheek . He recovered soon and held me straight .

" Jenny ? "he said slowly with an alarmed expression .

" She is really drunk now ! Am doomed ! Nick is gonna kill me !" Lucas said , panic was evident in his voice .

Upon hearing his voice I giggled again .

" Who's Nick ? Her ..boyfriend ?"

I burst out laughing on that .

Nick ?

My boyfriend ?

Thinking about that I laughed again .

" Someone is curious .But ..he is not my boyfriend . " Giggling I said poking his cheek that was flushed red now .

He swatted my hand away and stood up pulling me along with him .

" I'll drop her home . Catch ya later man ! " he said and turned around to exit pulling me out with him .

He can't do that !

I don't want to go home !

Once we were out of the bar I pulled my hand back.

" I don't want to go home ! " I said stomping my feet .

" You have to Jen . " he said and pulled me but I ended up colliding onto his chest .

" Oops ! " I said giggling .

He started tugging me by arm and I pulled myself back .

" I don't want to go home ! " I said pushing him which was a bit easy since his full attention was on me . He stumbled back but stopped himself from falling . At this moment I crossed the road and ran towards the park nearby . Even though my legs were weak I made upto the bench inside the park but soon an arm sneeked around my waist and pulled me and my back collided onto a hard chest .

I felt fear for a minute but as soon as I heard his voice that fear soon vanished and shiver went down my spine as his husky voice reached my ear.

" Gotcha ." he whispered his breathe hitting my neck .

As mushy it sounds I felt relaxed under his grip and snuggled onto his chest .

Turning me around he lifted my chin and I met those hypnotizing blue orbs .

" I'll take you home now . " he said and I shook my head vigorously .

His eyebrows knitted together in confusion .

" Why ?" he asked softly.

" I ...feel a bit suffocated there and ..I just want to be free for one night ..free from all restriction ...even though I ..don't know what will happen after that ...." I said trailing off the last sentence because am not ready to tell him everything.

And its not that I feel suffocated around my friends but sometime their protectiveness suffocates me . Atleast I should live my life right ? God knows what will happen . Mainly I don't have anyone so close for whom I should live right ? I have already made my friend's life Hell by staying with them so who else can look after me ? .....love me like am their other half ?

No one

After a moment of a uncomfortable silence he spoke

" So ... What do you want to do now ? " he asked hesitantly and I chuckled .

" Something ...happy ? " I said and he watched me in complete silence and suddenly took my hand , holding it tight but gently he pulled me and started walking fast.

" Where are we going ? " I asked inbetween my panting because boy he was fast .

" To do something happy , fun ." he said giving me a side glance and coming to a sudden halt , am glad I didn't bump onto him.

He soon left my hand and I frowned on sudden envelope of coldness .

He took a key and went near a motorbike .

Uh oh .

He got onto it and handed me a helmet and he wore one .

" Hop on ! " he said starting the bike .

For a moment I found myself debating whether to get on or not. Its not that I don't trust him .

I know I wanted to do something fun and be free for a night but ....I can trust him right ? There were no right moments where I could tell I trust him completely but I can ..for a night ?

I was snapped out on my internal debate when his bike roared .

As I glanced at him he gestured to hop on . Exhaling a small breathe I put on the helmet and got onto the bike .

" Hold on tight . " he said and his bike roared again before starting off . On sudden speed I put my arms around his waist and held onto him tight . I felt his body stiffen for a moment under my touch but soon loosened up .

I held onto him like my life depends on him .

Suddenly he stopped and looked at me .

" Jen ..You're holding me like your life depends on it ... Just enjoy the moment and just feel the freedom . It will take 15 more minute ride to reach where am taking you .. so just try to ...umm feel the wind and enjoy for this night .. " he said and turned back to start his bike .

I just sat there trying to analyse what he told .

Feel the moment ..

A smile crept onto my face thinking about how gentle he is with me .

Just enjoy the moment Jen .

I removed my arms from his waist and spread it on both side . I felt like moving along with the wind . My hair that was not tucked inside the helmet swept my face from time to time .

I felt soo light ..carefree ..free .

Suddenly the bike started moving in zig zag manner and I laughed onto that . From the shaking of his shoulders I know he was laughing too.

Laughing I wrapped my arms around his waist and placed my head on his back feeling his warmth . As I did that I felt like his breathe hitched for a second .

Wow.

Soon the bike came to a halt and I got out but before I could turn to see where we were he wrapped his arm around my waist pulling me close and my breathe hitched on his sudden gesture . His other hand covered my eyes .

As I struggled under his grip he held me tightly .

" Patience baby . " he whispered huskily . Hearing him calling me ' baby' I felt something tingling inside my stomach . Giggling I started walking to where he was taking me .

God knows where am going .

" Are you going to kill me or something ? " I asked nervously and he laughed .

" I would have used better ways to kill you . " he said and I rolled my eyes .

Soon we came to a halt and he removed his hands and I stood there with my mouth agape on what was in front of me.

" Oh my god ! Ice Skating ! Thank You !"

Squealing I turned and hugged him tight . Chuckling he hugged me back , we stood like that for god knows how much time but soon he pulled back and gave me a heart stopping smile , he took my hand interwining our fingers he started walking .

My full attention was on our interwined fingers that fitted onto each other .....perfectly.

Cut out the crap Jen . You can't feel anything for anyone .

It would painful at the end .

Shaking my head I concentrated on our way . Soon he did all the formalities and we wore our skates .

Upon reaching the ring my heart started beating faster that I felt it would burst out now.

I think being scared my grip on Ed's hand tightened and turned to face me .

" Are you okay ? " he asked and I shook my head .

I was not at all okay .

I know I always wanted to go ice skating but at this moment I felt terrified.

" What happened Jen ? " he asked with concern plastered onto his face .

" I ..I don't know how to do it ! I feel ...terrified . Its like I'll embarrass myself if I fall . " I said and after a moment of silence he burst out laughing .

What the ..?

" Edward ! Its not funny ! I don't know how to do this ! " I said and crossed my arms above my chest .

On watching me sulk he laughed again and I watched him with a blank face . After some more laughing he sobered up and looked at me . He slowly leaned in closer and my heart took on full speed on beating . Closing my eyes tightly I stood there stiff . As soon as his breathe hit my ear my eyes flew open .

" Who told you I know how to skate ? " he whispered huskily and a shiver went down my spine .

This guy sure has a terrific effect on me .

But as soon as everything registered in my mind my jaw dropped .

On seeing my face he burst out laughing .
