The Ancient Beast (Adere's Mission)

Chapter 73

Renu wanted to see for herself what it was that Adere's mother was trying to make her see. She was not yet aware of what she meant by what she had said. Adere's mother then took her to the room where Adere and Mori were both seated and Renu could not find a word to describe what she saw. She looked at Adere's mother and asked, "You said that they have been in this position for now long?"

"Few hours ago and the funny thing is that I do not know when this training will end. Mori never told me when it will end and I never had to ask my son because there was no way he could have known. I pray that it does not last for too long for I have heard that there are those who get trapped for life in the other world while undergoing such ritual. I am not aware of what it means but if truth must be told there is nothing I am not as afraid of as I am with this kind of things. There is possiblity that they will come back to themselves in few minutes time but there is another possibility that they will have to stay like this for ten years. I am not sure which one I have to believe in but my daughter listen to me very well I have this in my mind that they are not going to be able to return anytime soon and this will aggravate the king. You are here with me already and there is something that I must have you do for me. You will have to come with me to meet with the king of Abah. If I meet with him I will explain to him the more reason he has to wait till it is time for all of us to have my son back with Mori from wherever they must have gone to. Do you understand what I mean?" Renu did not know what to say. She had never had anything to do with the king of Abah. She had never seen him before but if she was going to have to see him she was going to see him hoping that he wouldn't get angry with her.

"You are the mother to Adere, wife to the one who stood by me when I had thought that I was not going to be able to escape. I have heard all that you have to say and now I can only say that things are going to get messier. Let us go then. If you have said that Adere and Mori are traveling to a place, to another world for the training that Adere must undergo under him then so be it. I have nothing to say again concerning this but let it be known that despite the fact that things would seem the way that they seem it would take only half of the people to know what is known..Let us go"

The two ladies then headed straight to the abode of the king of Abah where they I intended to have a talk with him and to bring him to have patience with Adere and Mori as they embarked on that jouney.

When they had finished discussing with the king the king of Abah rose from his seat and looked out of the window once again and this time around he was angry and it could show in his face. He turned to Adere's mother and said, "I have not brought you here, suffered all that I had to suffer in order to bring you to this place so that you can play games with me. Is this a game or a play? I would like to know which one? Let me tell you this simple truth, there is nothing that can make me to believe what you have been saying since, I only played along as if I was discussing with you so that you could keep on bringing out all that you intended to bring out of your filthy mouth. Now that you are done gushing out your nonsense should I ask you this one simple question? Look out the window just the same way that I have doing ever since you came to this palace, if you look out what do you see?" Adere's mother looked out and saw thick clouds gathering. She did not know what to say. She knew that the king was angry with her.

"But as you know it that the one you seek to do for you what you want is a man of spirituality and men of spirituality do not have the kind of time that we normal people have. You do not know what this training will do in his life and how it will ensure that what we have come here for is accomplished. Why do you fear and make it look like we have abandoned you. We have not abandoned you or deceieved you instead we are still on the tract of making sure that what I discussed with you comes to pass" Adere's mother did not want the king to keep doubting her but the king was already mad with fury and he was not prepared to allow her to continue to say words that sounded like someone trying to play games with the intelligence of a king.

"Hear this now woman; I know that you would not want me to say this, especially not infront of the one standing beside you. I know, as I was told that she entered this palace with Adere and I am sure that if she was brought here alongside Adere then she must have heard all that the watchers had to say to Adere concerning you, concerning how you were aware of what I intended and how you wanted him to be here by all means. But you lied, you were scared, you only did what you were convinced to do. I am angry right now and that is why I am saying this. I am not a man to be toiled with. I can see that the son and the one you are claiming is training him spiritually have lost it and they have become statues. Well, that having been said I have nothing to say concerning this whole thing, all I have to say is that it is very much appreciated if there is nothing that anyone can do about it. Let us go ahead and do what we are supposed to do instead of living under false hope and pretending that everything is alright. I am having this notion that you all want to play with me but be rest assured that I am not going to allow myself to be played with. You both are going to remain in my custody until after the time the two get back to what we agreed on.. Listen to me, I am going to have to invite the watchers of this land and they are going to tell me more about this lady that I never got to know well and what her role is in the life of the one destined to bring me the victory that I require. I am not going to sit here and keep wasting my time" He commanded the guards in the palace and just before Adere's mother and Renu could defend themselves they were taken outside and taken straight to the dungeon. When they were forced to sit right there in the dungeon they did not know what else to say or do instead they kept looking at one another and wondering what was next. That moment Adere's mother regretted ever accepting to play this game with her son and the king of Abah Kingdom.

Shortly the watchers of Abah land appeared before the king of Abah in his chamber and he was still standing near the window of his room and looking out from it. He was wondering why on Earth someone that he regarded as a saviour would come to him and will be sleeping instead.

"Brothers and sister, it has reached my ears that the the one you brought to me is sleeping" said the king without looking at them. At first the watchers did not understand what or where he was driving at and so they looked at once another but kept quite. The king continued, "Well, I could not have gotten my mind so prepared if I did not know what it meant to be this ready. What I could have easily understood was if he came to me by himself and told me that he was going to have to rest before we do what we have to do but to be told by someone else that he was undergoing a training and a training that can lady upto ten years was not what we bargained for and to crown it all and make it worse it is said that unless he is done with that training he will not be ready enough to face the ancient beast. I feel that I have wasted my time with him and it makes me so angry. I have nothing to say now except that I want a situation whereby things would look more ready now and not only to look more ready but to be ready for real. What is keeping the rest from doing what they have to do? I am going to give you his order having gotten the mother to Adere arrested I am going to tell you that it is time to have tell me or check and tell me the destiny or what links the one said to be training Adere with Adere. I want to know more about her even though I have not had the opportunity to have a word with her but I want to know her the more. If you already know anything about her I would like to hear it because I have had it up to my throat and anger has become my daily bread. I am tired of having myself played by some little people. Tell me right away"

The watchers had known much about Mori, infact they knew her role in the life of Adere but they did not think it was necessary to discuss about it yet with the king for what they had seen about her was not something that would be pleasing in the ears of the king of Abah and so they had decided to spare him the anger and not bring him to a situation whereby he would be taken for granted. But the king of Abah was insisting and he was threatening to do his worse if they did not tell him what he needed to know. At some point the watchers decided that it would be better if they told him what he wanted to hear, left for them what he wanted to hear was not what he needed to hear but as long as he was not ready to hear what he needed to hear they would have told him something entirely different. One of the watchers stepped forward and standing before the king of Abah he said to him, "Mighty king of this great land, the king that conquered lands and made things more terrible for his enemies. I could have decided to do something entirely different but here I am doing what I have to do. Let me tell you what I have to tell you, there is nothing else that I would have decided to do if I had nothing else to bring to the table. Let me give you this idea my king, instead of wanting to hear more about this person I would suggest that you let us do what we have to do and after we must have done that and are ready to tell you things then we will come back to you and tell you things. Please have patience" But the king was not ready to hear it all. Infact he was not going to allow anyone to bring him that idea of having to have patience. When the watcher realised that the king was not ready to listen to him he then said, "Very well my king, let me tell you all that you would want to hear concerning that lady that Adere's mother spoke about, that lady that she came with; You see my lord there is something about that girl that is more than what meets the eyes. The girl in question is known to be a very well equipped person, both Spiritual and otherwise. The gods of her land are not only with her but they speak through her. The funny part of it all is that she is destined to have to her life laid down for Adere. I would say that such a thing is not what it would seem but what is done is already done. You said you wanted to know her identity, well she is a chosen one, not only chosen to speak for the gods but chosen to speak the words of the gods. In as much as we the watchers of Abah land do not fear the gods we can not deny the fact that when they are speaking we humans respect the sound of their voices. We would not deny the fact that most times it would seem like there is something that we ought to know but truth be told there is nothing that we are made to know if we are not made to know what we are made to know. The lady is going to do so many things at a time but her life which has become a living sacrifice unto Adere will not be lost until she is done with him. I am telling us this so that we become careful with the way we go about the whole thing. Let it sink into our minds that there is nothing that can ever make people to believe otherwise but we are not going to have to have anything to do against her now, especially now that she is undergoing the ritual of training with the most important person we have ever known on earth"

The king of Abah was not pleased with his last words; referring to Adere as the most important person they had ever had to see on earth but he did not want to go into all of that, infact what he would rather go into was how long the two of them; Adere and Mori would have to stay the way that they were staying. On this one of the watchers said to him, "Let it be recorded that it is not always as it seems. There is nothing like who wants to do what, instead what we are made to know is that there is someone who is training someone for us and the person that she is training for us is a very important person. Let us not use our own hands to bring ourselves to the mud my king. Let us wait on them"

The king turned and without saying anything pointed towards the sky and the watchers knew why he had to do that; they knew that he was trying to make them see that the clouds were gathering thickly and that it would not be long before the ancient beast would tear itself out of the forest and descend on them mightily like before. To this the watchers did not know what to say except the one that had been speaking as he added, "Well my king, if it comes to that again we will have to sacrifice one more time of his visit and hope that before his attack again Adere would have been up on his feet with the woman that he is learning from and then stand against what stands against us. If we have waited, if our forefathers, our ancestors had had to wait all the years that they waited is it us, is it now that we would be impatient? Let us do what we have to do in order to get things going the way that they are supposed to be going. We are no longer going to continue the way that we have been doing. Let us keep waiting for this last time. We have the solution already but nature says that the solution needs time to be able to provide us enough service. Let us wait for that solution as long as it is hear already we have nothing to loose if we decide to wait as long as it takes"
