Chapter 58

2105 Words
In the land of Abah the king of Abah had been informed of what was at stake and he knew that if he were to continue to make things look the way that they were supposed to look he would loose everything. He was not ready to keep looking up and not knowing what else to do. He was aware though that the killer of his woman was going to die. Somehow he believed that the killer of his woman was not the one that he suspected. That same afternoon while Adere's mother and Mori were both cooling off inside the cell in the palace of Abah there was a knock at the door and it downed on them that the person at the door was none other person but the one whom they all feared. That moment they looked up and saw a man standing there and looking at them, this was the prime minister, the one that killed the woman that belonged to the king. While he was still standing there and looking at them one of the watchers came to him and standing before him he said to him, "Why are you looking at them as if you have never seen a Zinu before. Have you not seen a Zinu before?" he repeated his question and the prime minister turned to look at him and said, "What is your concern if I am looking at them as if I have never seen a Zinu before. One thing that you have to know is that the king is not entirely happy with himself but one thing is that despite his state of mind he has nothing to loose if he should leave this matter in our hands" said the prime minister but the watcher laughed instead and said, "You elders in the palace always think that you know more than others but you are not sure if you do know more than others. What a waste of time though" The king of the land of Abah was not comfortable inside his chamber. He had decided not to talk to anybody and the man his mind told him that he suspected he did not want to talk about anymore. At some point someone called on him and once he looked up he saw the a guard standing right there before him and he kept looking at him and wondering why on Earth he was there. The guard could not find his voice because he did not expect what he saw. The woman that belonged to the king needed to be buried and the king needed to learn that the watchers of Abah land were back and were waiting on him to let them give to him the person that they had come with. They were waiting to show him the person inside the dungeon but the soldier, immediately he saw the face of the king he could not utter a word. The king also was not comfortable with the way things were and he said to the guard, "Out with it whatever it is that you are willing to say to me and stop standing there like a tree" "My lord it is about the watchers of the land of Abah; they are back and now are waiting on you to come to them. They are so much waiting on you and I have come to just inform you about that and also to inform you that the elders are complaining that the dead woman needs to be buried. They want you to bury her an then keep on with your desire to investigate the cause of her death. They are not saying that you should not investigate the cause of her death but that you should let her be buried but after that you can go ahead and do what you want to do" The king did not want to believe his ears. He was not sure if he heard the guard correctly because if he heard him correctly what it meant was that he was talking about him letting go of the person that must have a hand in the death of his wife. He was still like this when he was informed that the All Seeing Man was there in the palace. He knew that if the All Seeing Man had come to the palace it meant only one thing; for him to leave the room and go and meet with him. The All Seeing Man was known to the reason things became as it was in the land of Abah. It was said that when he was in the watchers camp he was the greatest eye opener until the watchers thought he was too great to be one of them and then they begged him to be the eyes that saw for them. When the king heard that he was outside waiting for him he immediately asked the guard to go tell him that he would soon join him. The guard did not waste any more time be went outside to meet with the man and so he told him exactly what the king had said and the All Seeing Man nodded and waited. When the king had h come outside to meet with the man he stood up and said to the king, "I have come to tell you that those who said you should not marry the woman that you had intended to marry were right. You have no reason whatsoever why you would want to marry someone that the gods are after. She was cursed and she did not know it. Every man has a point in their life when things would seem as if the whole world is against but that is not always how it is in real life instead what we are led to understand is that we should have two or three reasons why we must always go ahead and do what we must do. I have always wanted to come to you and to tell you these things but most times I find out that you are not willing to do what you have got to do. I am not really ready for all of this. I am going now and I expect you to do what is necessary; bury the woman and let her be in the past. I have heard that the watchers you sent after the mother of the one that you needed to deal with the ancient beast is here already. I see no reason why you should be so ignorant of these things and how they work. You should not be deceieved, it is time for you to do what needs to be done and there is no one who is going to do them for you. Rise up and face what you are supposed to face. If the watchers have brought in the mother to Adere; the boy that you need then you should be in a meeting with them, discussing on which way forward instead of cowering here and looking for who to take pity on you. I have spoken and if you are wise do what you are required to do but if you are not wise stay here and do nothing" the All Seeing Man then left the palace. Everyone knew that when the All Seeing Man spoke it was always final and so they did not expect the king to neglect the words of the man that had come to warn him..The king could not believe it but one thing he did not want to forget was the fact that the All Seeing Man said that the woman he had intended to marry was not yet aware of who she was but would have grown to become an evil one. With this known to him he still mourned the woman bitterly and then asked that she be buried. While the burial was ongoing the king was seated alone and looking at the grave. He knew that this was going to be the last time he was ever going to fall in love again. He was not sure if he was sounding alright but one thing was sure, he was never going to be able to find a replacement of the woman that he had loved with all his heart. He did not know when tears escaped his eyes and he sobbed. The men in the palace went to him but no one said a word to him because everyone was scared of him. The next day the king sat on his throne and requested to meet with the watchers of the kingdom of Abah. The watchers arrived the palace shortly and each and everyone of them was bearing a very happy face for they had accomplished what they thought was going to be impossible for them to achieve. They remained there where they were waiting for the time that the king would be ready to meet with them and then when they were told that the king was ready to meet with them they did not waste time in seeking for a way to go to him. They stood before him that noon and waited for him to greet them according to the customs and traditions of the land of Abah. The king greeted them and they saluted him. After the greetings the king then rose from his chair and said aloud, let us go ahead and do what we are required to do. No one inside this place should have anything to say except we are ready to say what is right. One of the watchers then spoke, "Very well my king. We are the watchers and we have gone and returned from the mission whence you sent us and we have what you had sent us to go and fetch for you. But there is a little problem my lord; you know that we agreed that we would be getting you the woman that gave birth to the very one that was destined to bring the ancient beast to tame or kill it but when we got to where Edu of the land of Akuzu lured them to we were greeted with the presence of both Adere's mother and another lady whom we learnt her name to be Mori. We do not know her but according to her she is also from the land of Zinu. We had wanted to come to you immediately we returned but we learnt that something terrible befell you and so we did not want to add salt to your wounds and we decided to stay away from you for now until we are ready to make amends. What this means is that we are so sorry for everything. We are really sorry for that" The king sighed and then spoke, "I have heard you all. I would have said that my heart still bleeds for the sake of my woman who met her doom in the hands of the one that saw her dead. Meanwhile I have been told by the All Seeing Man that I should not mourn a woman who could have been the bringer of doom in this land. Now that that has been settled I see no reason why I should be bothered about these things. Let us join hands together and do what we are required to do. We are not going to allow anything whatsoever to be a hindrance to what we should be setting our hearts and minds towards. I have heard you all and I am glad that your journey to secure what we have been waiting for was successful. Meanwhile the mistake you made by bringing with you not just the targeted person but another person is not a serious issue. We will know what to do about that. Well, now that we have her I think it will be a wise idea to bring her to this place so that we can all get to see her. I see no reason why we should be waiting while the very reason we have been restless and sleepless all these while is already here. Someone should bring her in and let us have her answer some of the questions that we have for her" When the king was done saying these some of the guards then went outside to ensure that the mother to Adere was brought in to stand before the king. When the guards left the king said to the watchers, "Well as it is now we have to talk before she gets here"
