I woke later than usual, and I rolled over reaching out blindly for one of my alphas. My eyes snapped open in surprise when I realized I was alone in the room. I frowned sitting up and rubbing my eyes. Someone had left my phone right next to me in the bed, so I picked it up and checked my text messages. Sure enough, I had a message from Aric explaining that they both were needed for the meeting today, so Tricks and Elliot were outside my door acting as my security detail. I rolled my eyes at the overkill.
