I was determined to be better today. I was dressed in a casual sage green dress with Swiss dot tights and flats. I brushed my hair rhythmically while Aric watched me from the bed and Alec dozed on. I met his gaze in the mirror and smiled automatically. He grinned in response. I set the brush down and tip toed over to him. He opened his arms invitingly and I crawled on top of him settling on his chest. We stayed like that for a while just enjoying each other. I got lost listening to his heartbeat.
Alec stirred in the bed next to us, “Are we playing hooky today?” he mumbled groggily.
I groaned nestling deeper against Aric’s chest for a moment longer and then I clambered up pouting. I gave Alec a long kiss and then it was time for Aric to take me to school. I was out of time for breakfast
