Her hand clutched over her chest as she looked up at Caspian for an answer. She searched his eyes waiting for a sign of something, anything that would let her know that he loved her or at least cared.
Caspian glanced over his shoulder at his father, he stood with a triumphant smirk as if he won something.
"I'm sorry, but you already know how it is. I have to stay on top and if that means dragging others down so be it." He shrugged his shoulders with an emotionless expression.
