Chapter 8

*Flynn Larson’s POV

“Babe? Wake up, your alarm’s going crazy already” I heard Ailee’s voice calling me.

I opened my eyes and a blinding light welcomed me. I covered my eyes with my hand to protect it from the light, while slowly lifting myself up. I searing pain hits my head. Damn! I must’ve drank to much. After I went home, I drowned myself with alcohol to remove my confusions. I remembered calling Ailee, and I also remembered having s*x with her. I don’t really actually remember how it happened and when it happened, but I’m sure that it doesn’t felt the same way like before.

A soft lips was pressed against mine, and I felt her naked body touched mine. I don’t feel anything at all. I think my s****l feelings was numbed already. I slowly pull myself away from her and I heard her reluctant moans. I’m sorry Ailee, but I’m not aroused anymore.

“You were so drank last night, that you almost can’t get it up.” She said.

I admit, she’s so cute and innocent but I somehow managed to taint her innocence. I was proud about it before, because she can only act like this in front of me, but now, I honestly regret it. I gave her a kiss on her forehead and climbed out if the bed. I am still having my hangover, but regardless of it, I still need to see that stupid arrogant jerk CEO’s face.

“I’m sorry, but I think I’ll have to leave you now, I’m going to be late.” I told her as I made my way to the bathroom with an unstable feet.

“No need to be sorry, I’m be fine.” She said with a smile.

“Please don’t forget to lock the door.” I reminded her.

It took me around fifteen minutes before I left my apartment with my girlfriend lying on my bed. I didn’t even bother to eat breakfast. I feel terribly sorry for Ailee. She may not noticed it yet but, my feelings for her are starting to fade for no reason.

I looked at my watch and saw that it’s still, seven fifteen in the morning. I hope that the CEO is not early today, so that I will have plenty of time to do my job before he gets here. I immediately went to his office, and my hopes disappeared upon seeing the CEO. He’s calmly sitting on his swivel chair while looking like a king. I really had a terrible luck lately.

“Good morning sir.” I politely said, before I placed the cup of coffee on his table. “Is it okay if start cleaning?” I asked.

“Just do whatever you need to do and be useful.” He said. I harshly bit my lower lip to suppress my emotions bubbling inside. ‘Flynn you need the job' I reminded myself.

I just gave him a nod before starting to give my attention to the mountain of folder on his couch. I started arranging it, without minding his stares at me. I can feel him checking me out, and it makes my body to burn in a crazy manner.

“What’s my schedule for the next week?” I was startled when he asked.

“P-Pardon sir?” I asked again.

“My schedule. I’m asking for my schedule for next week.” He said while looking at me like I was some kind of i***t.

“U-Uhm, I’m sorry sir. I’ll just go get it at my office.” I answered.

I don’t have with me because clearly Atticus was more like his secretary than me. Whenever I’m done with his schedule, I would pass it to Atticus immediately. He only talks with Atticus, if there are times that I would hear his voice, that’s when he’s angry.

“You don’t know my schedule? Are you really my secretary?” he asked. Well I am asking the same thing too. I told myself.

“Sorry, it’s just that..” I was looking a way of politely putting my answer, but he stopped me.

“You know what? Forget it. Just free your schedule this next Saturday.” He said

“W-Why?” I asked him.

“You’re coming with us to a meeting.” He plainly said, which confused me.

I mean, sure that’s one of the job description in being a secretary, but he never asked for my presence before, why now that he’s been awfully mean to me? I’ll probably wont be able to handle that if I’m with him for more than an hour. I’m only been with him for merely half an hour, even lesser than that, now he wants me to come with them for a business meeting. I really don’t understand him.

I was about to open my mouth to answer him, but then I decided not to. He’s looking at me firmly and I felt like whatever I do, I would never win against him. I just gave him a nod and continued cleaning.

A few moments later, the door opened. It was Atticus, he’s wearing a teasing smirk on his face.

“So how do you plan on making up with..” He said while dragging the last words when he saw me. “Ow Hi Flynn! Good morning.” He cheerfully greeted me. He seems to be in good mood.

“Good morning Atticus” I replied. He was about step towards my direction when I heard the CEO’s voice.

“Stop the tone. I hate that.” He said. I saw Atticus smiled at me, before he continued to move forward and wrapped his arm around my shoulder, he then winked at me.

“Sooooo did you tell him?” he asked the CEO. What’s he so excited about?

“That we’re bringing him to the meeting with the Ravens? Yes” the CEO replied.

“Then?” he asked, he sounds like he’s too eager to hear a very good news.

“Then what?!” the CEO replied with irritation visible in his tone.

“You didn’t tell him that..” Atticus didn’t have the chance to finish the sentence because the CEO spoke up.

“Shut up Atticus, or I’ll rip your throat from you.” He said. I shivered upon hearing his threat, but Atticus doesn’t seemed fazed by it.

“You’re hopeless” Atticus then said, before he turned to looked at me. “Let’s go Flynn” he said as he started to dragged me out of the CEO’s office.

“f**k Atticus! Where are you going with my secretary?” I heard the CEO growled, which immediately terrified me and makes me want to break myself free from Atticus arm.

“He’s hungry, I’m sure he didn’t eat his breakfast so I’m feeding my mate” he replied. I can hear the teasing voice in him, and for a split second I thought I saw the CEO’s eyes changed its color, but maybe I was just seeing things. “Let’s go” he then said and continued to drag me out of the office.

Atticus was talking to me, saying that he’s excited to bring me in the Ravens, but I didn’t pay attention to that.

I was actually curious about what exactly does the CEO didn’t tell me.
