"Are you ready to order, sir?" Ruth was managing her best smile as she stood next to table five. The man had been asking for a glass of water over and over and she was dreading having to throw him out of the food joint once he had completed his forty five minutes on table without purchasing something to eat.
"Come back in fifteen minutes, my date is almost here." the customer's voice was flat and not promising any truth from his statement. If anything, he must have been trying his best to not swill her with the half empty glass if water so she could stop bothering him.
