Seventy One

AURELIA It is quite late, quite late for this to still be the only thing that I am able to think about. Even after attending to my duties in the kitchen, making sure I write down all assignments that are due tomorrow, I still hear his voice saying those words. They are haunting. Far more than I ever imagined they would be when they kept replaying in my head a few hours ago on the walk back home. Of course, I did not tell either one of the girls what he said, or that we were talking about things that have nothing to do with school. I am itching to just ask him where he got such a thing or why he figured it would be funny to make my head spin like that. Coupled with the fact that my mother is hiding a huge secret about my past and origins, I am just losing my mind. Fast, not slowly.
