The Gold Kingdom was ruled by a mighty King Darius. A Kingdom known for its rules and hierarchy. No one would have imagined the palace to be infiltrated and in shambles. King Darius went to the Diamond Kingdom to meet for a peace treaty. Our territory and theirs meet on the west side, we share a river between our lands, and we have been allies for over 50 years. It was a shock the meeting didn’t come to fruition and then to come home to find the guards brutally murdered and the palace a disaster. “Sir. Trent, take your men to the west. Sir.George take your men to the east. I will go straight to the castle.” My heart was beating out of my chest and my blood was boiling over with fear for my family. My sweet wife, Belle tried to talk me to not go to the meeting. I should have listened to her wisdom, but I felt we had a good opportunity for the Gold Kingdom to make a new contract with our neighboring Diamond Kingdom. This was a cunning attack and I want to make sure we know for sure who did this. “Brent, who is responsible for this?” We are puzzled by no evidence and how the castle guards are all killed with no witnesses. I need to focus and try to stay calm, so I can find out who is responsible for this and see if we can find a witness. “Please, let me know if you find anyone alive, I mind-linked.” I hold my breath when I walked into the castle and see my Belle lying on the floor. “Sir. Darius, I believe she’s alive just unconscious. She took a blow to the head, Brent says.” I examine her bruised head and relieved to find her breathing in my arms. I send Brent to find our doctor. I need to find my sweet little Brooke. My only child and she is only 5. Please, let her be okay. Judy our doctor walks in with haste. “Please, Judy, stay with Belle while I look for Brooke.” “Yes, Your Majesty, she will be okay in my care. Please find our princess, Judy looks with sadness.”Without a word I walk with swiftness looking for my baby girl with desperation.

The Missing Princess
The Kingdom of Gold is beyond words, King Darius thought to himself. His wife is unconscious, his daughter is missing, and his trusted guards were slaughtered. “We found the traitor, Luther, he is responsible for the shield being down and killing of the guards.” “We caught him trying to escape through the tunnel by the bridge, Your Majesty, what should we do with him?” I looked at the man I thought I knew to be my friend from combat school. I feel sick to my stomach, catching my breath from the bile trying to come up. “Why, Luther.” He looked up at me with his bruised face. “They have my family, Darius, what am I to do?” “Where is my Brooke, I cried out in anger.” My fury hardly able to keep from escaping me. I have to stay calm and focus for my baby girl. She needs me to be strong, so I can rescue her. “The Diamond Kingdom said they won’t hurt her, coughed the traitor.” “Hope your family survives for your sake, but I don’t believe you will, I spoke with pure rage.” “Take him to the prison cell below gate C.” I want to make sure we get ready for what’s to come. The reason for this under handed cunning to destroy the 50 year peace between our Kingdoms. I’m ready to fight, but I need us to come up with a plan. “Your Majesty, Belle is awake and she has something to tell you, Sir. Trent chokes out.” I rush with all my strength to her side across the grounds. When I get to Belle, I just hold her for a moment, and then I see her swollen eyes filled with tears. I just kiss her sweet face and hold her close to my chest, and the feeling of warmth washes over me. “I love you, Belle.” “Oh, Darius, They took our baby girl before I could hide her.” “It is my fault for allowing her to go out on a day that she should have stayed closer to the palace.” “No, I should have listened to you Belle about the Peace Treaty. It was a cunning trick, for me to have my guard down.” “Darius, I have note for you, the ruler of the Diamond Kingdom gave it to me.” I take the letter and open it. I fall to my knees. Thankful my little Brooke is okay, but the plans for her in the letter. I’m speechless and angry at the deceitful actions done against this Kingdom. This will not stand one bit. The letter reads: Darius, I have your daughter. I don’t believe the Peace Treaty wouldn’t have worked without something to make it concrete. 50 years of peace, came with blood, tears, and the cost of many innocent lives. I plan to wed Brooke when she turns eighteen and then we will have our Peace Treaty. This will be the only way for our Kingdoms to live side by side for 50 years more. I will invite you when the time of our Wedding is final. Ruler of the Diamond Kingdom Two choices to make. One, will I fight at the risk of losing what’s most precious to me or do I go with what he’s requesting. This deceitful, cunning, and ruthless ruler taking my only child. POV Marcus I can’t believe we pulled it off! The situation is in our favor. The Gold Kingdom are in our hands now. They will unlikely want to go to war knowing I have his only child. I couldn’t believe how beautiful a five year old girl could be. I gave her to the nanny who raised me. She will be well taken care of. I plan for us to unite the two Kingdoms to become one. Brooke will become my queen and we will rule together in time. “Marcus, do you really believe this child will have your heart? I mean she is only five,” Phillip looks at me with disgust. “I plan to wait until she’s eighteen before I marry her and it’s for the future of our kingdoms.” This will be for the better in the long run. I believe with time we will see what the Gold Kingdom plans to do. Will they risk it all for revenge or will they submit to defeat and want peace due to the safety of their child. I didn’t think the child was so young. My hope was to wait a few years, but I didn’t plan for 13 years. This will be a wait, but worth it in the end for generations to come. POV Brooke I’m not sure why this man took me away from everything I have ever known. The nanny doesn’t even know me. All I want is to go home. I wonder what is going to happen to me. I want to go home now. The nanny changes me out of my clothes and brought me dinner. The next thing I know the door opens and this man with glasses comes to me and looks down at me. He holds my chin from side to side. He then gives me this smirk and whispers, “Maybe you will be a beauty someday. I may decide to make you mine instead of my brother.” I look at him in shock. I need to escape this place. I’m relieved when he leaves out the room and the nanny comes back to me. “Are you okay, little one?” “Yes, I will be okay. I need to go home please.” She gives me a sad look and says, “This is your home now.” Tears started falling and all I remember is someone picking me up and tucking me into bed. I couldn’t stop the tears from coming and too weak to try for an escape tonight. “I miss you papa and mama, I cry out.” POV Marcus I woke up with a brilliant plan. My plan came to me through a dream. I will disguise the little princess, so no one would think twice about her. I needed to do something because there is too many years to be ready for anything. I jump up and go down to her bedroom and peak in. She was still sound asleep that little adventurer. She has tried multiple times to run away with no avail. She has four to six guards, who keep watch over her. I have to keep track of her ever movement. I plan to make her look different completely and maybe raised by a new family too. My goal is make her look like family. I know the perfect family. My aunt Helen is the most trusting person and I’m excited to see how they get along. “Phillip, send for Helen to come.” “Why, Helen?” Phillip looks up from his book. I sit down in my favorite chair in this grand library. The best meetings have been done in the very room. I look at my dear brother with my wide grin and say, “I have the perfect plan for the little princess. We will have Helen adopt and raise her with her own four little ones. She will be raised with privilege and taught well on how to become the next queen. I trust our aunt Helen and uncle Drew to take this on.” Phillip stands up and gives me a pat on the back, “Well, that solves the dilemma of what to do with the little gem, but how is she going to survive with our cousins?” We laughed at the thought of the family coming and meeting Brooke.
