Bad feelings

HERRON'S P. O. V I heard the door bang so I looked up. Since Dumont is still standing there, I guess Lore is the one that left. I didn't comment on it though. I just continued to look through the book I was holding. I don't even know which one I picked up. I was just looking for an excuse not to be involved in the mating issue. Why did I even come with them? But then again, I didn’t have a choice. None of us did, we were heading out of the library one minute and the next we were on the run. We first went to the house but that thing was there too. It was not hiding anymore. It just stood in the trees looking at us with very weird red eyes. So, Dumont reversed and hit the road. At first, I thought he knew where he was taking us but after two hours of driving, he had admitted that he had no idea where we were headed. Except where his Vampire instincts directed him. I wanted to shout and demand answers but somehow, I felt not to. Since that woman visited me the other night, I had these intense feelings towards Lorenzo and Dumont. It was deeper and more intense than what I felt when I first met them during summer. So even when I felt like demanding answers and throwing a tantrum, something held me back. Giving me this feeling of understanding in me. Making me realize that they also don't know what's going on. They are just acting on instincts, running away from a threat. It's like they were protecting me and that thought gave me butterflies in my stomach, it made me feel warm and fuzzy. I felt the bed dip, hence I turned to see that Dumont was sitting next to me. "What should we do, Dumont? “I asked him, unable to hide the worry in my voice. “Let's go through the books and see what we find out. “he said while scooting closer. I took the one that was on the bedside table and handed it to him. He saw it was the one on mates so I changed and gave him the one on Furies while I was left with the one on Guardian. Thirty minutes of perusing pages and I hadn't seen anything that would help our situation at all. So far, the book said that every dimension had five guardians, these guardians were mates and were personally handpicked by the Fates. The Guardians duty is to protect the five dimensions against the Furies. To make sure that the veil of good and evil remains balanced, because if it tears all evil will corrupt the good.  We already know this, so I tried going through the pages only to find it was a history of the guardians, small stories here and there. But nothing, and I mean nothing at all was helpful. In short, this was just useless. I pulled my hair in frustration, from the way Dumont was clicking his tongue I could tell he was on the same boat. I looked at my hand watch and realized it was almost 7 pm and Lorenzo was not back yet. That's almost two hours since he left. "Dumont, shouldn't we go check on Lorenzo? “ “What time is it? “he asked while sitting up. I walked to the mirror which was on a wall near the washroom while telling him it's been two hours since Lorenzo left. “Oh my! Let's go look for him, Herron. “Dumont didn't wait for me, instead he came to me and took my hands and led me to the door. I could see the slight panic on his face and I couldn't help but worry. I just hope we are being paranoid. We went to the diner first and ordered some take away while looking around. Lorenzo was not here. I could see Dumont sniff the air and I knew he was trying to find his scent. "He was here but it's been a while. Meaning he didn't stay long. Let's go to the front.” We found the receptionist getting ready to head out. I guess her shift was ending. She said Lorenzo passed by a while back and left through the door. We didn't answer her while we rushed outside. After about ten minutes of sniffing the air, Dumont said he couldn't get his scent anymore. It's like it ended at the reception. I looked at him sniff some more and it was kinda funny, the way he put his nose and sniffed. If it were any other circumstances, I would be laughing so hard and teasing him about it. "This doesn't make sense. There is nothing of his scent here at all.” Dumont said his eyes frantic in panic while he looked around holding my hand tighter. "What about the parking lot?” I suggested and we headed there only to find the car still in parking. Another dead end. Where the heck was, he? What was he mad about in the first place? I mean I don't see a reason why he stormed out in the first place. God! I hope he is fine. I massaged my temples while closing my eyes trying to relieve some stress, but as soon as my eyes shut I saw red eyes looking at me. I instantly opened my eyes to confirm if those, creatures were anywhere near us but of course they weren't.  “Let's go talk to the receptionist again, see if she can remember something else. There was something off about her. " Dumont didn't wait for my reply, I nodded though while we headed back. Again I had a bad feeling in my gut, this, has become a common thing since Dumont and Lorenzo 'kidn*pped' me.  But as soon as we stepped through the door, we found ourselves in a different room. Not the reception anymore, this looked more like a dungeon. I looked around frantically while holding Dumont tighter only to realize there were no windows nor doors. Yet we were here. But how?
