It's been two days of running, and still, we can feel we are being followed.
We first called my mum and had her talk to Herron's mom, of course, we couldn't just up and go. I don't know what my mum told her we were up to but all that matters is she knows her son is safe.
"I can't feel its presence anymore. “Dumont said. Holding Herron tight since he was asleep.
“Do you think it's safe for the night? "
“I don't know but Herron needs rest, we all do."
We were currently at a gas station and luckily there was a sign indicating a motel was up ahead. Just two miles. So, without another word, I drove towards it. My mind wanders to the threat that's been following us.
We haven't talked much about it in fear of scaring Herron but Du and I both know that it wasn't just one. And wherever a minion is, its master was near. These minions exude a very dangerous feel, meaning it's Master was something powerful. We still don't know what. Luckily, we had the books from the library and if tonight we get a break from having to run, we can read and try to find out what's after us.
Herron whimpered in his sleep, and I could only hope he wasn't having a nightmare. Earlier he had said those red eyes haunt him whenever he closes his eyes. I can't blame him, those things look scary with black hooded robes then nothing for a face, just red eyes. Red scary eyes.
I parked then sauntered towards the Sacred Moon Motel. Weird name if you ask me. But we aren't here to vet motel names, nope we just need rest. Du didn't follow since he knew I had to scout the area first, see if it's somewhat safe.
The motel looked like it belonged to the Victorian era, it was big too. My guess is it had been someone's manor once upon a time.
I went into the reception area and looked around, my wolf was on high alert since we got here, but he could not pick up anything dangerous so I approached the woman sitting on a desk. I was surprised to see a laptop there, didn't expect that.
"Welcome to the sacred moon motel, how can I help you Sir?” she said in one breath while looking at me, a bored expression on her face.
"Thank you, I need a room. An ensuite would be nice. For me and my two companions. “I answered politely.
“Will you be sharing, or you all need separate rooms? "
“We will be sharing. “she nodded then went on to work on the paperwork.
Lorenzo, someone is coming. I guess it an alpha.
What? I thought We are in no man's land. Are they a threat?
My wolf waited a few moments, then answered with a no. With that I was relieved. There is nothing we can do though we will just have to wait and see. Am sure they aren't here for us, but we can't help the paranoia. I wonder what's taking the lady so long, but I didn't ask.
Two minutes later, Dumont and Herron joined me on the sofa. Herron still looked kinda tired so he was leaning on Dumont's shoulder.
"What's the hold-up? “Dumont asked.
“I don't know. By the way, my wolf says an alpha and his beta are headed here. "
"Are they a threat?”
"So far, No, also we are in no man's land. “I answered. Then headed to the receptionist. Just as I got there, two guys walked in. I paid no mind to them and concentrated on the receptionist.
“Here are your keys, you are in room 1119. The staircase is on your right and we have a diner at the back so you can eat there or order room service. Enjoy your stay. "
I said my thanks then walked towards my mates who were conversing with the Alpha and his Beta.
“Hello, Lorenzo. I am Skylark and this is my beta, Zane. “The alpha said with a polite smile on his face. I shook his hand making sure to add more pressure than necessary, and Zane's then faced my mates.
“Our room is ready. “ Then I faced the Alpha. He, was silently trying to stare me down, probably trying to make me feel a bit less confident. But Nirvene doesn't get intimidated easily.
“It was a pleasure meeting you. “
We didn't wait for a reply as I helped Herron up, then held his hand while heading to the direction of our room for tonight.
An hour later we had showered and well-rested so we decided to right and head to the diner and eat something. But as soon as we descended the stairs, I heard my name, in a whisper. At first, I ignored it, it was just in my imagination.

Instinctively I stopped. That made Herron bump into me and Dumont into him.
"What's wrong Lore? “Herron asked while Dumont raised his eyebrow in question.
“You guys didn't hear that?"
"Hear what? “that both asked, their voices in a slight panic.
“my name, someone was calling me in a whisper. Three times now. “as soon as I said that Dumont took our hands and pulled us back up the stairs to our room. But the voice got louder, even as we were safely locked inside the room. A red light appeared at the window.

Who? I can't see anyone. Except for the worried faces of my mates.

"Tonight? “why was the voice saying tonight? We were told on a full moon. It's not a full moon yet, is it?
/Don't worry about the moon. It’s not necessary./

Mate tonight, or else you will lose your mates.
I didn't get a chance for more questions because the red light disappeared. But just before it vanished completely, I heard a very very malicious evil laugh.
