FORBIDDEN LOVE

CHAPTER 4

Bella has been rushed to the hospital and is currently receiving treatment, she is still unconscious and the man that knocked her is waiting in the hall .

While waiting for her to regain consciousness he decided to check her phone and the first number he saw was that of her cousin who had been trying to reach Bella .

ON PHONE

EVE:  Hello baby cousin, where are you ? I've been so worried about you.

GENTLEMAN: your cousin is in the hospital, she was hit by a car and her condition is serious.let me send the address to you

EVE: please do , ( panicking) where will I start from.

After receiving the address of the hospital Eve left the house and took a taxi straight to the hospital.upon arrival she presented herself and was told to wait for the doctor .In the hall the gentleman that called Eve earlier was seated, when he saw Eve, he walked up to her and presented himself.

GENTLEMAN: Good evening, I'm Richmond,the man that called you earlier, I was on my way back from work and accidentally knocked your cousin. She's still unconscious and the doctor says she will be up any moment from now. I'm so sorry for Everything ,I will take care of her hospital bills .she had her earpiece while crossing the road ,I tried my best not to knock her but unfortunately.

EVE: thank you for bringing her here,I hope she wakes up . let's wait for the doctor then.

So the guy that knocked Bella is called Richmond .They are waiting for the doctor to come and give them updates of Bella's condition.Few minutes later,the doctor walked up to them and asked them to follow him to his office.From the look on his face Eve is Abit assured that what he's about to tell them is good .

AT THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE

DOCTOR: Well, we have done our best, her wounds were not deep so we just gave her some injections to ease her pains and plaster the wounds. She's still unconscious due to the effects of the injections. She will be up in a few minutes .

EVE/RICHMOND: thank you doctor

DOCTOR: It's our duty to save lives, I will prescribe some drugs and if by tomorrow she's out of danger she can go home,but she will have to come back here so that her bandage can be changed.

EVE: Ok doctor.what about her bill?

DOCTOR: you will see the cashier outside, take her hospital book from the  receptionist,her bill is inside as well. That's all.

EVE: thank you very much doctor.

Richmond  decided to pay all the bills and begged to take his leave promising to come back tomorrow morning.Eve is still waiting for her cousin to regain consciousness. While waiting she decided to inform Bella's parents.

ON PHONE

EVE: hello ma Flo ( short form of Flora) good evening

MAMA FLORA: yes my daughter , this one you are calling at this hour,is anything the matter? Is my daughter fine ?

EVE: not really ma ,  Bella is currently in the hospital ,she was hit by a car when coming back from school this evening. Her condition is not serious , the doctor said she might go home tomorrow so I decided to inform you.

MAMA FLORA: ( SHOUTING) my daughter oh, Eve tell me you are joking, you say what happened? Eh eh eh God ( crying) I said it, this village witches and wizards are trying to kill my daughter oh, it will not happen , I save the living God, my daughter is not going to die oh, I have never wished anyone bad , I'm a Christian oh( crying)

Papa Joseph who was taking a bath heard his wife shouting and crying rushed inside.

PAPA JOSEPH : FLO why are you crying? ,Has someone died ? ( Collecting the phone from her '

Hello ?

EVE: yes pa Joe( short form of Joseph) it's me Eve, I called to inform you of Bella's accident, she's currently in the hospital ,but please tell mom to calm down .Her condition is not too serious, and the doctor said she will be discharged tomorrow morning.

PAPA JOSEPH:ok my daughter, thanks for informing us, if by tomorrow her condition is not good let me know so I can come and see her.

EVE: ok uncle.

After the call, Eve was informed that Bella has regained consciousness and will love to see her. She rushed immediately inside to meet her cousin 

IN THE WARD

EVE: hey baby cousin ( Bella) you scared the hell out of me , I'm happy you have finally regained consciousness, the guy who knocked you has settled all your bills before leaving.

BELLA: I feel pains all over my body, the last thing I remember is that I was knocked by a car and the man was trying to carry me before I collapsed.

EVE: thank God the man did not Escape like others would do .he's a nice person ( smile)

BELLA: Why are you smiling?

EVE: the guy is so handsome, you guys will make a lovely couple ( smile)you know.

BELLA: maff,you know I'm not interested in any relationship now and who knows maybe he's married.thank God he left before I woke up.

_EVE: he has promised to come back tomorrow morning.

_BELLA: I will leave before he arrives here, I don't want to see his face, see what he's put me through.i won't be able to go to school for some days ( sad)I hope this wounds will heal fast.

_EVE: (trying to cheer her up) Don't worry bb cousin , I will inform your friend Rose, so she can photocopy notes and send them to you, all you need now is enough rest.

_BELLA: thank you big cousin , I'm nothing without you ( hugging Eve)

I hope you have not informed my parents , my mom will be death worried.

_EVE: I'm sorry ,I had to inform them.Your mom started shouting and accusing village people ( laughing) but I assured them that your condition is not serious so don't bother.

_BELLA: ok , I will call them once I get out of here tomorrow.give my cellphone let me call Rose , I have to inform her about my condition .she will be worried if she does not see me on campus tomorrow.

The following morning, Richmond arrived the hospital before Bella was discharged.After inquiring at the reception, he headed towards the ward Bella was occupying.As soon as he opened the door ,what he saw shocked him, Bella who was concentrated on her phone , decided to look up only to meet with the most handsome man she's never seen before.she began sweating and feeling nervous.Earlier Bella was telling Eve that she would not like to meet Richmond,but the man standing in front of her has just succeeded to make her speechless.Bella has never been like this before, Even in the village ,a man has never made her feel the way she's feeling now. What is happening to Bella? Richmond seems to be lost as well. Is the story of Bella and Richmond going to end at the hospital ?or is it just the beginning of something that will change the course of their lives? Eve who went out to get a glass of milk for Bella came in and met Bella looking at Richmond while Richmond is standing at the door looking at Bella with his mouth wide open.

_EVE: Good morning Richmond, I can see you've met Bella , she woke up a few minutes after you left yesterday. Bella this is the gentleman I told you about yesterday.

_RICHMOND: hey Bella , I'm sorry for Everything ( walking towards her) it was not intentional, I'm happy that you are up already .(smiling)

_ BELLA: That's fine, it was an accident anyways ( looking at Eve who is busy smiling) I should have paid attention when crossing the road.

_RICHMOND: It's not Your fault.I can see you are ready to go home .If you don't mind I will drop you guys off before going to work.

While Bella is hesitating to accept , Eve quickly says yes and Bella is not happy at all.

_BELLA: That's fine you've done a lot already, we'll take a taxi.

_RICHMOND: I insist , that's my own way of making up for the damages

_BELLA: That's fine ,like I said you've done a lot .

_EVE: Bella stop insisting, let him take us home, you know it's not easy to see a taxi here.

_BELLA: OK!( with an angry face)

A black Jeep is packed outside the hospital, and Richmond is taking the girls towards it, Eve is whispering to Bella" I told you to get a rich boyfriend, this is your chance" Bella is so angry and decided to keep quiet.Eve quickly entered the car forgetting that Bella need help as the wound on her leg can not permit her to climb by herself.Richmond who was standing beside her notice she was finding it difficult to enter the car decided to help her . As he placed his hand on her shoulder she shivered and turned to look at Richmond, As their eyes met they forgot about Everything around them.what will happen next?
